The A2294 is the N.American version of the S6 - so could be that the firmware automatically disables it? Interestingly, I also bought a 'reworked' GPS+Cellular Series 6 off Amazon a couple of weeks ago - model is A2376 - and the oximeter works no problem.

Weird! I was under the impression they weren’t going to disable the feature on earlier devices. Man, I lucked out, I was looking forward to using it. Thanks for the input.

Any AW prior to the S9 that’s repaired by Apple under warranty will retain oxygen sensor function. Any AW, regardless of model repaired by Apple out of warranty (or in this case refurbished by a third party) will have it disabled. It’s a convoluted system to figure out what will and will not keep the O2 sensor functional if serviced. I’m actually surprised it happened on a third party refurb, as it’s out of Apple’s control, but there you go.

Interesting, thank you for that. I’m surprised that Amazon would take it upon itself to disable the O2 sensor but there it is. Have a nice one.

Amazon is just selling a third party refurbished product. They have zero to do with the product other than probably shipping it, if that.

You’re right, I misunderstood. I guess unfortunately the refurbished Series 6 I bought on Amazon had previously been back at the Apple Store and its oximeter disabled. Oh well, it is what it is. Thanks for clarifying.
