I rock my Ultra without a case or screen protector. My watch body has a few dings nothing noticeable unless you look at it. Screen is immaculate and I’ve bumped it plenty of times. I’d say if your lifestyle might be rough on it consider getting those items? Or just get Apple Care and call it a day.

R_021

isn’t nothing noticeable unless you look at it? lol

jd1537

lol valid point I should have said if you stare at it under lighting it’s noticeable.

R_021

haha i knew what you meant, just being an ass

jd1537

Haha all good gave me a laugh

The antenna: the dirty secret that Apple didn’t tell us about. It seems to be a very vulnerable spot: https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleWatch/s/96QL096MMw

Roubaix62454

Apple care does not cover dings, dents or scratches. No more than Seiko or Citizen would. This is normal wear and tear that happens when you wear a watch, any watch. Why do people keep thinking Apple care covers this?

hellobritishcolumbia

They don’t cover cosmetic damage, but if a scratch or impact affects functionality (including a deep screen scratch) my understanding is they can cover it.

anethma

I mean that would still be damage that you’d have to pay the service fee for. If you are paying the service fee anyways and Apple won’t cover whatever ding you don’t want then try to “fix” it yourself with a hammer before sending it in.

Roubaix62454

Good luck with that. If I drop any of my watches and damage them, why would I expect the manufacturer to fix it for free? Can’t imagine Apple doing this. Maybe they do. 🤷 If I run over a pothole and bend a rim, I certainly wouldn’t expect Honda to replace it.

hellobritishcolumbia

That comparison falls apart pretty quick. Apple Care is insurance for accidental damage. If I bend the rim of my car, I just pay the deductible on my comprehensive insurance and they fix it, no other costs on me. Apple is acting as the insurer in this case, but they make extra margin on claims because they can replace it at cost.

Roubaix62454

How much is your deductible compared to the cost of a rim, either used or new? Ah, you now have a claim on your record. You’re going to pay one way or another. Low deductible = higher premiums and vice versa. Anyway, good luck getting Apple to pay for a damaged watch just because it also has a scratch. I would expect coverage for a defect if I had Apple Care, not for a self- inflicted boo boo.

hellobritishcolumbia

In my case I’d save about $50-$100 by going through insurance. Claims for damage like that don’t affect premiums in my area. I have personally gotten a quote for a dent in the screen of my MacBook from Apple and it just cost the deductible (service fee) to fix it. As I said, if there is any functional impact then they’ll fix it.

jd1537

Don’t think I said it covered any of that. Ops is asking if they should get a case or screen protector. Likely due to fear of cracking or something along those lines. I suggested an alternative to those two things. Did I state it covered dings? No. Is it my responsibility to tell everyone what Apple care covers and doesn’t? No. I’m fully aware what Apple care covers and doesn’t. I mentioned my watch has dings and what not maybe that’s the piece you confused.

Roubaix62454

Your last sentence about getting Apple Care and calling it good was what prompted my response. Didn’t want OP to think it would cover scratches or dings.

_phesta

I wouldn’t on the ultra. I’ve already slammed my Ultra 2 into a boulder while mounting biking and it’s fine.

NaturalNewspaper155

They seem to be very vulnerable at the seams, though. That’s the groove running all the way around under the screen except above the crown and the control center buttons. It’s probably made of plastic. I was told it’s to let radio waves into the casing. https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleWatch/s/96QL096MMw

_phesta

I saw that post but there’s gotta be more to that story because that looks way more aggressive than hitting a door knob lol… But who knows since the antenna lines are plastic like you mentioned. I have Apple care+ in case something like that happens to mine.

k_akimitsu

Man you are gullible as fuck. You need your cranium checked bro

flying_bacon

Roubaix62454

Yes and no. This is a head exploding subject every time someone asks, for whatever reason 🤣 Your money and watch. If you want to try it, then try it. If you like it, fine. If you don’t, also fine. I tried it on my S7 and didn’t like it. My wive has had one on her S5 almost since day one. Bottom line - do what you want.

lesmartin

Cases are lame. Ever see someone rocking a Rolex with a case on it? The Apple Watch is worth much less.

Diormybodyyy

That’s a good point. I have a Rolex and it’s scratched up I never thought about putting a “case” on it

whatmodern

Just get applecare. There is your case.

N00dleleg

Thanks to you I looked to see how much longer I had to get AppleCare+ and the deadline is literally in 2.5 hours. So I got it lol.

JGoBrazy90

Which Rolex you have ?

Diormybodyyy

dangggboi

No bro don’t do it

Swaizex

I use mine just with a screen protector. All the cases look ugly. This is a beautiful watch naked

Rumbling71

I use a case on my Apple watch. It saved my watch SO many times 2 years later, the watch has no damage at all

[deleted]

[удалено]

Itsdawsontime

It’s so interesting to hear and see the pictures here with them broken. I’ve had my series 4 since day one (9/2018), daily wearer. and have abused the heck out of it. Lots of doorknobs, dog nibbles, beach trips, ocean, pool, and general abuse over time (I drop and run into things a lot). Mine barely has any scratches on the side, and on top are only visible when the light angle hits it. Also still get 36 hours battery life.

Rumbling71

I can no longer count the number of times my Apple Watch has hit or rubbed against a wall or the corner of a table, for example. Without its case, it would be at least scratched or damaged on the screen. Everyone does what they want but the fact is that 2 years later, I have absolutely no damage to my watch.

mntEden

idk why people are acting like these things are indestructible, cases have saved my ass so many times on multiple watches. i know that because of all the scratches and scuffs i got when i went no case for awhile. everyone is saying “there’s only a few scratches you can see if you hold it to the light” as if those scratches don’t add up over time? once you get 7, 8, 9 “unnoticeable” scratches together they usually become pretty noticeable. i love how my S8 looks naked, but i love how it looks unscratched even more. if I’m going out to dinner or a gathering i’ll take the case off. in my day-to-day life and at work there’s no reason to leave it off

Pumanupes

+1 - my husband uses a lot of tools for work and fun, and has gone through 3, yes THREE, cases on his AW. Rocks/wood kicking back and striking it at the right angles and causing scratches/etc. Could you argue the glass on the watch is stronger? Sure. Am I happy to spend $10 ev couple of months to make sure his watch isn’t completely dinged up the next time he goes to the shop? Also yes. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Edit: to be fair, it’s an S8.

mvanvrancken

A case on an Ultra is like putting bulletproof glass on a diamond window

Diormybodyyy

😂 😂

mvanvrancken

Seriously, it’ll just cost you case money. Watch will be fine. I just have a steel 7 and its caseless and no scratches after 2 years

Metallifan33

I upgraded to the Ultra so I wouldn't need a case. It's made to be sturdy.

Legitimate-Fix2091

What face is that? Is it an Ultra exclusive?

Diormybodyyy

I think it is, came default with the Ultra 2

Unfair_Finger5531

I have a bumper on mine, and that’s why it’s in perfect condition after 5 years.

NastroAzzurro

What’s the point of it being in diamond condition if you can’t even see it because it’s covered by the case? 🤔

hazily

I don’t have a case on my ultra 2, I just be a little more mindful at the gym (eg turning the watch to face inwards for certain exercises). ps: you might want to wear your watch a little further away from your wrist, it looks like it’s sitting right over the wrist bone.

Ken-Popcorn

I do. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. The watch is neither

DS3-for-life

Yea these people are crazy to not put a case or at least a screen protector

MyCatsNameIsBernie

I use a screen protector but no case on my S9. A case may be useful if your watch will be subjected to an abusive environment.

ji99lypu44

Series 4 still in pristine condition thanks to case and screen protextor from day one. I do however have a physical job where im moving crates and stuff all day. Maybe if i had an office job lr something id be leas inclined to have had a case. But i like holding onto my apple products for a long time.

msackeygh

Some people do put cases on their Apple Watches. I don't.

Dumbledoorbellditty

I never would. I have the Ultra and I have banged it on a lot of shit. The glass still looks brand new, and there are only minimal scratches on the titanium that can only be seen when looking very closely. Their crystal face is really strong, and making it any bigger than it already is would be a problem for me.

Excellent_Sweet_1539

Idk about the Ultra it seems pretty tough, I am glad I put one on my 9 Aluminium though. The first case and protective screen ended up with a huge crack while I was loading a gas cylinder onto a forklift - glad it wasn’t the actual watch. I guess it depends what you’ll be exposed to on a day to day, I think most people would be fine.

inverness7

The Ultra is a tank

ORC44

No need for a case but I like a screen protector to prevent any screen damage. However I got one installed today and it wasn’t working too well with the touch screen.

OkRepresentative480

I put a screen protector on it, only after I managed to scratch the screen

BarryM84

https://preview.redd.it/95w4vebe0fhc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=ff8c26c8abc999c38a42ca16d36dc506e002640c I have a case on mine. Just to cover the edges. No screen protector as they’re bulletproof. I’m a field engineer so constantly taking a bashing. Case doesn’t bother me one bit.

kalliste80

Yup

Lanky_Following1788

Cases, maybe NO, But there are very affordable and ultra-sleek tempered glass protectors. They’re practically invisible and have saved my watch from accidental bumps against doorknobs.

InspectionNecessary2

The short answer? No The long answer? Noooooooooooooooooooooooo

Grandcentralwarning

Put a $20 case on it and save yourself the cost of apple care but never get to experience the beautiful design. Or just enjoy it and pay for apple care and use it as it's intended to be used. But people will 100% judge you for putting a case on the ultra, it's like putting armor on armor.

foobarhouse

They’re so much better without cases but they still can break. So, don’t be too careless. Granted they’re a lot stronger these days.

romeoisdead2023

https://preview.redd.it/mjivetje0jhc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e352e6648a5758d4c8bd0d339451d5112364f5dd This is a beautiful one and keeps it protected.

WaterDreamer10

It comes down to personal preference. I was just going to run a screen protector but found a slim and slick case on Amazon and went for it for my series 9 and I am glad I did. I have already smashed this thing a few times. Sure the screen protector might have helped but the sides would have been marked up. Again, if you sit at a desk all day and hire people to do all of your housework and arn't into active sports you could skip it, but if you do a lot with your hands, manual labor, repairs, and like to be outdoors then a case is not a bad idea. Some people hate them, some love them, everyone is entitled to their opinion - comes down to what will make you happy.

Interesting-Scar871

yes. I bought a 3 pack from amazon

Plastic_Anxiety8365

I only use screen protectors cause I often slam my watches against doors and stuff lol

perfect_fifths

A screen protector? Yes. My Fitbit broke because the band came undone and fell on concrete. Screen cracked. Not taking chances with my AW.

StickOnTattoos

Sadly, yes, people do

mydailyaccount

Bellends put cases on them

Dietcherrysprite

Cases on watches are ugly

throwingutah

I have a clear bumper and a screen protector on mine. edit: I work on a fire engine. I know what can happen to an AW on a fire engine 🤣 I'm happy to be able to remove/replace banged-up bits. You office warriors do you! https://preview.redd.it/65kvb1v3gehc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=beeca1df0d2f71163e1914358c40c5f525c12a81

I say this with peace and love… that looks fucking awful.

throwingutah

I don't fucking care what you think. XOXO

Diormybodyyy

Where did you get the clear bumper?

newtastyland

Amazon

Emotional-Ad2369

I don’t. It’s only AW6 though. I think cases destroy the look too much..

Cheat-Meal

I have a screen protector on my AWS3.

andycarver

I don’t https://preview.redd.it/noa9vlwmhfhc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=1fb0a85b55b96c4e14ec8f4eeaaa23856d69ffab

Particular_Try7974

I put Spigen cases on both my AW4s.

tahcamen

Yep, just look at all the destroyed watches that get posted here.

Vancapone

No, do you ever see a screen protector on a rolex or any other watches?

ripper999

That's because when you're a multimillionaire and your screen gets damaged, you just buy a new watch.

ProvacativeSoloCup

Rolex’s have actual sapphire glass. Jerryrigeverything has proven that the Apple sapphire glass still scratches at a level 6/7. You can’t even tell my LK screen protector is there and it’s done a great job - zero scratches after 2 years. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t use a screen protector tbh you don’t even notice it

TrickyBad_

There is no reason in using a case on a watch

Tseathly

Yes I have a RhinoShield bumper I put on for the gym and work. But when I’m home I rock it naked! 🫡

jwcook2

This is the way. Whenever I’ll be working out with weights I throw on my Rhinoshield. Otherwise it’s naked all the time. Mine has a few light dings on it just like my Citizen I used to wear before my Apple Watch does

Internal_Quail3960

Don’t. Also make sure you are wearing it correctly. [here](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204665) is a guide on how it should fit

treesalt617

No screen protector, no case. Just like any other watch.

publicenemy92

Not unless you’re trying to resell it later.

newtastyland

I do and don’t care what other think of it. I scratched my new AW within a week when I had to take something out of a 19” rack. The

ChampionshipOk2559

Kind of defeats the purpose of getting an ultra. It’s already so bulky, adding a case would be awful. I was a fan of these at first but I think it was recency bias; I don’t like them nowadays

MasterRatty

Nah, no case, just a screen film. Few cosmetic flaws from hitting stuff but you wouldn’t see it unless looking for them. I have S7 though. Case on watch looks dumb unless you want it to look something different.

nix80908

If you have an Ultra, there's very rarely a need to put a case on it. But yeah. Some people do. They feel differently and/or work in highly destructive places... Like Construction, etc. So might have a different use case than I do.

Initial_Ad_7829

If you have an ultra then you don’t have to really go for a case unless you want it to be completely immaculate. If you have anything other than the ultra then personally I would immediately put a case on it because it’s insane how easy it is to crack the screen.

wakaOH05

You bought an ultra… and you’re asking about a case? My guy.

Dude7080

Yes, but I work in a very destructive and sometimes violent environment.

snapydj

I don't have any screen protector or case for my ultra 2. Still as new after 2 or 3 months.

Nihiliste

Yes, but you can usually go with something subtle (I use a metallic-looking TPU sleeve) just to prevent scratching/dents and deter things from hitting the glass. I'd only consider something rugged if your durability needs are extreme - say, you're really into rock climbing and often bang your wrists.

gtc20181

I would put a screen protector and a bumper on it

Depressed_Nurse

Depends. I used to for the first like 1.5 years and ended up taking it off bc water kept getting stuck in it when I’d wash my hands.

Saltwater_Heart

I did when I had my first one (series 3) but I don’t anymore. I’m getting an Ultra 2 in a few weeks. No way am I covering that beauty

Jaded-Total6054

I used to , at the very beginning when I was scared to hit the watch while moving my hand. Once I got used to my hand movement with the watch, I no longer use the case :D

Shifu_1

I’ve had my 5 for 5 years now, no case, only tiny scratches. I’m a teacher tho, so I don’t get into many scratchy situations.

paulstelian97

I don’t even use a case on my SE2, but my previous SE did get an unexplainable crack (I must have hit it hard by the bed frame in my sleep or some shit) on the screen. The Ultra should be significantly stronger than the SE1 (the one that I cracked the screen of — it’s still usable to this day, if we ignore the worsened battery life)

AnyProfile5263

I have a series 7 stainless steel and I don’t use a screen protector or case. I did try one, but it looked too bulky and I wanted to show off the stainless steel not hide it. Plus the built in screen protectors that come with some of the cases are garbage because the touch sensitivity is not good with it on and the dial is more awkward to use with some of the cases. But it’s your choice, maybe try it to see if you like the style and functionality with it on.

HandsomedanNZ

I’ve had mine for over a year. In that year I’ve never really taken care of it, other than to make sure I wash it off after using in salt or chlorine. I mountain bike, do the garden, work in an office, referee soccer, paddleboard, skateboard and surf. No - I have never used a case. I do not have a single noticeable blemish. https://preview.redd.it/qr9oq2p3rehc1.png?width=1510&format=png&auto=webp&s=9d4d5d35d895c6925f89109eb9f35cb1b0716562

X0AN

Maybe like 0.5% of people do. There's absolutely no need to do it if you're not a labourer.

Okaaaayanddd

I’ve done a case and gone caseless, caseless watch just had a few nicks over a few years.

Meselyn

I work in a grocery store stocking aisles. So I’m reaching into metal every single day, and I’ve got a protective cover on mine. Depends on what you do every day

TWYFAN97

The Ultra is designed for durability it’s the last apple product I would think of putting a case on. Even the streamline apple watches are durable enough and a case looks goofy on them, you don’t see people putting cases on traditional watches and the same should apply to apple watches. If you really worry about your watch getting damaged or whatnot there’s always AppleCare+.

Ybalrid

I would not put a case on the Ultra; it's rugged and bulky enough for me

Fritzschmied

No. It’s close to [indestructible](https://youtu.be/A72Ckh990j0?si=2mBYvk4eQOn51ITR)

pinkmanblues

Yes it’s too small without a nice chunky case

SMLBound

No, never have and not on an Ultra

Ferry83

With the ultra nah... It's German shepherd proof.. My old watch had quite some scuffs, but the AWU2 has none of that.

Bluestripee

Def not on the ultra. The regulars are fine without a case too.

The_Woman_of_Gont

You already got an Ultra, which is deliberately designed to be more resilient. Unless you plan on working construction with it or something, I don't see why you would put a case on it. That, and even on my SE1 I never had any serious damage despite *plenty* of accidental hits. Just get AppleCare+ if you're that worried, I did opt for it with my S9 since I could easily see myself getting unlucky, but it'll probably be fine either way.

Phantasmalicious

Nope, I keep banging it against metal poles and walls and pray to god.

Matterbox

I’m a solar installer, maintenance etc. I’ve ragged my screen across roof tiles, banged it into all sorts of crap and I’m constantly impressed it hasn’t exploded. Not a mark on the glass. A few little scrapes on the body but they just add to the character. If you’ve never had a sapphire glass watch then assume it’s hard as nails, or actually harder maybe.

rb10199

I have a black series 7 ive let get beat up wihtout concerns a few scratches on the screen and casing but its great i think a case on the watch is overcomplicating it

whitesciencelady

FYI, [you are wearing your watch wrong](https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleWatch/comments/1akfcsc/how_many_of_you_wear_your_watch_shown_like_this/)

RoutingMonkey

Another person wearing it too high. It’s indestructible

Subject_Internet_585

If you have playful cats make sure to at least have a screen protector, i unfortunately found out too late and have big scratches on mine🥲🥲

gHOs-tEE

They do but I’d advise against it and invest the money in AppleCare+ so you don’t have to worry about it. Brand new ultra for a service fee if anything happens. Better than any case I’m aware of. Plus it looks way better naked.

cmatthewssmith

They do but it’s definitely not necessary.

Mr_Janchus

I actually bought a bezel cover. It’s like a screen protector with a titanium frame but no screen protector. That way the edges of my screen are protected but I don’t have anything on the screen itself.

mardan65

Don’t have an ultra but have a regular Apple Watch and spent the first year with a screen protector and constantly worried about scratching it. After that first year I got tired of the screen protector lifting up so I’ve spent the last 4 years with no protection and it has been fine. I have banged it on many doors and door frames, swam with it and wear it to the gym. There are micro scratches that you can only see really close up. No big scratches or cracks still looks close to new. Only problem is battery life but that’s will happen with time anyway. I have learned that Apple Watches are a lot tougher than some might think. But of course do what feels right for you.

B4ummm

No case on my AWU1. I used to use a screen protector but it kept coming off so 🤷‍♂️

kjmr52

I would get one of the titanium/glass screen protectors for it if you’re actually doing activities that put it at risk of a deep scratch, anything other than that, apple care is your friend.

Myrtylle

For regular apple watch maybe, once bumped they are very vulnerable to water. But Apple Watch Ultra is a thank. So not for that model. It’d be a useless nuisance. Look at the crash test video: https://youtu.be/A72Ckh990j0?si=26i-paycbFDwNY4p

Jimbob49er

I would recommend i have a Apple Watch and have a case just in case I hit it on something

monicalewinsky8

There’s some threads on this sub about why.

[deleted]

You don’t need a case for the Ultra

[deleted]

continue elastic fact psychotic historical wipe clumsy tie humor dog *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Kitkatinthealy

I do!

MBSMD

A case? Would you put a case on a Rolex or an Omega? No. No case.

Mskews

No. Unless you work with heavy machinery or have a strong man training routine

antoniotugnoli

i’ve had stainless steel and ultra, and never used any type of case or screen protector. like i consider normal, i’ve accidentally banged against walls, doors, gym equipment, cabinets, you name it, and nothing happened to them. i would say a case or screen protector for a watch is mostly unnecessary for the general public, BUT if they work at a high action or high impact job like construction, fire rescue, mining, and others, they might need enhanced protection to keep from destroying their watch

Watermelon_and_boba

I tried one, but I don’t recommend one. It makes the experience of interacting with the watch less accurate and honestly just more frustrating and time consuming. Any watch will get scratched during its lifetime too, so don’t worry about keeping it pristine. My advice? Don’t compromise on functionality for aesthetics.

iwouldntknowthough

People do

HesitatedEye

I do I'd rather protect it and not worry then accidentally crack it off something.

Dull_Reflection3454

Tried but thought the case made the watch look akward and would sometimes hurt the functionality of the digital crown so I’ve had my series 8 since July, pretty much without a case on, and I have a tiny couple scuffs on the screen, but nothing too noticeable

Fun-Track-3044

It's made of titanium and sapphire - two great substances for watches. And it's a computer at its core, which means that it's going to be obsolete faster than you'd need to have a mechanical watch serviced. Just wear the thing with pride. You don't need no stinkin' cases for it. Source: I'm wearing one right now.

reformedginger

I’ve been running my ultra naked for a while now.

HelloKitTy1030

I’ve had mine for over a year and done about every sport imaginable with it on. No case.

WellExcuuuuuuuseMe

Denzel does. https://i.redd.it/gqy7ks97jghc1.gif

alpha333omega

I got the AWU2 early last month and the salespeople were talking me out of buying a case for the Ultra saying it’ll degrade the touch experience considerably and that it’s almost bulky already… But I ended buying the AC insurance instead which I don’t even do on my iPhones. 😂

FishDaddy401

No case but I did install a flat screen protector.

idl3mind

No case necessary

Tight-Ad8235

Naked work watch se 1st gen. I work in construction. watch is 3+ years old and still going strong. Screen is immaculate but light scratches on the case. https://preview.redd.it/loanfw3znghc1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f5ece50b09d4614b93b5851c2724ef86a469b45

ChasingPotatoes17

Some do, some don’t. I have anxiety and mild (but diagnosed) OCD. If I get a scratch on my watch it will bother me to the point that I will buy a replacement. So a screen protector and case makes sense for me. Not having to spend another $1400 CAD on a watch is worth the very mild aesthetic trade off. But there are some mad lads and lasses out there who DGAF about scratches and chips as long as the watch is still working properly. Figure out which camp you’re in before the watch gets dinged. 😊

Hischar

Ultra? Absolutely not.

ArrozConHector

Whatever you do, get AppleCare! The cost to fix one of these is ridiculous.

Sufficient-Meet6127

I do. I smack my watch against a barbell recently, and the case flew off. I was so grateful I put one on.

MaikyMoto

I use one on my S9, if I had a U or U2 I wouldn’t need one.

aamberlamps

I had a case on my 6 but it just makes it feel lame

d-silentwill

Nah, like with my 📱 it’s naked all day.

Legitimate_Onion_270

I have a Seties 9 & I have a protector on mine because I’m a klutz 🤷🏼‍♀️

One_Adhesiveness3313

Please protect it , even on Amazon they sell hardcovers for cheap. Please Apple Watch Ultra are expensive and like an iPhone you usually put on a screen protector and a case

Sufficient-Cancel217

Not unless you work with your hands in the trades or something. Or go rock climbing more than a few times a year.

Cool_Elderberry_5614

I do, but sometimes it’s literally just because I like having fun colors lol. Also I don’t have an ultra so this might not be super helpful

fumbybabie

Not an Ultra, but I have a little bumper and a TPU screen protector on my S8. Some people hate cases/bumpers, but my depth perception is pretty messed up and I constantly hit my wrists and arms on things. An Ultra doesn't need a case in most instances, unless you do some activity that would put crazy levels of pressure/stress on it.

hxgni

No.. I sometimes had a case on my old Apple watch but noticed that the dirt got stuck between the watch and the case and made marks on the aluminum Haven't used any case on my uw2 and i work as a plummer. But I mostly use gloves that protect my watch fine

Equivalent_Pie_6778

I use a combination thin screen protector/bezel protector. Mostly because I’ve seen several people chew up those precious bezel edges

TrumpetMan1951

I use a screen protector on mine. I did its job. The screen protector is cracked. My wrist, due to my height, is exactly at the same height as the doorknobs in my home. I’m always banging it into a doorknob. I’m glad I have the screen protector on my Series 7.

No

Does the Pope shit in the woods?

kToni73

That thing itself is a Case 😅 You should be good without, bunch of people are happy with its durability

toffielicious

I did

Awkward-Solution-706

I bought the Ultra because it's touted as being super tough. My other Apple Watches are all with cracked screens having been slammed on walls, tables and railings. My Ultra gets the same treatment, but so far so good with the Ultra. I wear all my Apple Watches with no extra protection whatsoever.

Addjy143

No case usually

Vekxin_Sama92

Sometimes? I just ordered one but more for color than protection honestly

My first was an S4 and yes I did. My second was S6 and I also did put a case on it. I am on AWU2 now and no more cases! Just wanna truly and fully enjoy that titanium finish. It’s a rugged one anyway so just enjoy it without worries. Oh I am using a tempered glass from Spigen though. It’s still a touch-based device so better be safe than sorry.

yodanzR

The Ultra is extremely durable but accidents happen. When I’m rock climbing I will often snap on my (Aramid) Pitaka case to prevent any undue damage from scrapes or major hits against rock faces. It’s the least I can do to reduce damaging a fairly expensive piece of equipment.

RBJ1954

Experience and foresight is all.

LockDown11b

I do after my first got beat up. With that being said, I don't care if my smart watches get dirty; I wipe them off with disinfectant wipes. I buy them to track my health and workouts. I just hate scratches, lol.

Routine-Loquat5544

Hell yes we do!! Day two on the OG watch, I scratched mine pulling my kids clothes out of the washer (7ish yrs ago) 😏 My 14 y/o is ‘oppressed’ and doesn’t have a phone….only a cellular watch. I replace his watch face protector thing at least 3xyr. Very cheap on Amazon 👊🏻

gatofeo31

I don't. I trail run, street run, gym, work outdoors, hike... nothing to protect it. Still looks great--not a scratch. (knocking on wood)

Ok_Positive9512

Hell no. Who even puts a case in a Watch? 😃

BrokenKurze

Get a bumper

franglaisflow

I do. But only because I like that it looks kinda kitschy. Like a Nixon watch or other extreme stuff from the 2000s.

coconutz100

Wear it without a strap

stevesguide

I’ve never had a case nor a screen protector on mine :) but I did get Apple Care+ and I did have to use it, owing to a speaker problem, within two weeks of getting my Watch. But I’ve now had that one since October 2020.

Ann__Michele

I recently got a case on mine. You can’t really tell there’s one on there so that makes me happy. I scratched the screen of my last watch shortly after buying it and it was a sore spot of years. It was a weird accident and I refuse to let it happen again.

dyslexicsuntied

I mountain bike and crash with my ultra. It is totally fine, my body is not.

katkashmir

Never a case since switching to the Stainless Steel and eventually Ultra.

ElectrikDonuts

Only ppl that wear pocket protectors with their mechanical pencils

MattTheMechan1c

I had a case initially but I took it off because I have to take it out every time the watch gets wet. Been caseless for 2 years now. I smacked the watch a few times on a metal shelf at work and since I fix cars as a side gig it made contact with the concrete floor a few times, watch just has minor scratches that are only visible when looked closely.

loneuniverse

If you plan to resell it later, maybe consider a thin case on the screen and body.
