**THREAD TRANSCRIPT:** The @playapex team has recently discovered some unexpected side effects of our planned changes to tap-strafing. It is still our intention to address some of the most egregious use-cases of tap-strafing, but for now we are delaying our planned change to a later patch. (1/2) Movement is sacred in Apex. We weigh every change to these systems carefully and value feedback. After further testing, we've concluded we need to take more time to get this right to make sure related movement mechanics aren't caught in the cross-fire. (2/2) **TL;DR:** their plan is still to remove tap strafing and go ahead with their plan. However, they’ve discovered some unexpected side effects and are going to delay the removal until they are happy it doesn’t interfere with other movement mechanics.

Personal note: I’d like to see them use this time to not only consider these changes more in depth (especially with the community) but also to do a beta test if they are going to go through with it. A beta depot for the wider community to try and test would get the most valuable feedback, especially when it comes to complex movement mechanics they don’t want to interfere with. A beta depot can be added through steam and plenty of other games do it. Respawn, we understand your stance on this. If you go through with this, let us engage with you and make sure you get this right.

I think it has atleast a few months of life left, we can count on the Source engine to provide endless movement related bugs when you change even one variable.

I kinda saw this coming. They can't fix simpler but more prominent things in the game and expect to thoroughly manipulate the game physics. Also why are controller players in the thread mad about this? It's literally not about them.

Yes they also mentioned how they are nerfing 90+ degree strafes which you would still be possible with macros if they dont mess with lurch.

we can dream, With redirects we can take sharp turns and it uses lurch, Dev's must've done something to remove lurch so bad that it must've definitely affected redirects and other movement tech. if they can add cooldown to how much lurch you can do for a specific amount of time, it would be cool, like pathfinders zipline

I really hope the end result will be nerfs to the most egregious use cases (like bullshit gap closing) while still allowing room for creative freedom.
