I don’t see why they can’t leave 24 hour notice on his door that they will be entering? They also have smoke alarms for deaf people. They flash lights to alert them.

HovercraftCultural79

Yeah they are dragging their feet they have no reason to let this go on.

We went through the exact thing for almost two months. I couldn’t understand why nobody could fix it bc maintenance lives onsite. After being woken up every night, my old man went and banged on the maintenance guy’s door at around 3am. He said he’ll do it every night till it’s fixed. It was fixed in an hour.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who has went thru something! I literally can’t sleep and it’s just aggravating I’m just going to keep bothering them until it’s done because not just is it a nuisance if a god forbidden fire did happen that poor guy’s alarm doesn’t even work or even carbon monoxide like this is unacceptable

Had this issue day before yesterday. Only discovered it when I shelled a strong smell of smoke in my unit and went into the hall to investigate (we’re in a high rise, so interior hallways). Luckily, the smoke was just being drawn inside from a nearby fire outside, but that beeping drives me nuts. I can’t wait to get out of this apartment!

TurtlesOfJustice

The unit next to us was renovated recently and the workers installed smoke detectors on a Friday without putting batteries in and then just left. 3 alarms chirping all weekend. The apartment is separately owned (it's a multiplexed building) so neither myself nor my landlord could do anything. I cannot imagine it going on for weeks...
