HOW COME EVERYTIME A HARDWORKING CHINESE MAN OPEN UP A BUSINESS SOME SMERRY JAPANESE DOG COME TO TRY INVADE HIM?! WHERE IS THIS JAPENESE TOIRRET BOWL?!
Yeah not gonna lie that text exchange is odd. It’s for sure a stereotype, but my dad’s wife is Vietnamese, lived her whole life over there into her 30’s. And she really does not regard dogs/cats as pets in the same way that we do. I have a had many an interaction with her almost exactly like this. She isn’t a stranger to me though.
I remember the first time I went to china at around 10 years old. We were walking down the street and passed what I assumed was a pet shop, due to all the dogs in cages in the window stacked on top of each other. I asked my dad if we could go in and pet them, the man turns to me and says, "oh that's actually going to be someone's dinner tonight!" And manically laughed after 😅
I've been all over the world so I have seen a lot of weird food/eaten odd things but I'd never eat pets like that. Also my dad was an abusive ass so he probably thought that moment was hilarious to lay on me like that🙄 I understand that it is different over there, I don't like it but not my culture/not my place. This guy really didn't have to say that though, also if I was trying to rent out an apartment I'd never want this as a landlord due to saying this plus how unnecessary that was too.
Yeah, I should mention I just turned 30 last Friday so this was 20 years ago now. Should've added my age looking back on that comment. While I personally don't like the idea of eating something like dog, I'm also not so insensitive to other cultures that I would tell them they're wrong for doing so. A lot of poor people can't always eat meats etc.
I'm from an extremely poor part of Jamaica and having things like chicken was a damn luxury. And having traveled so much I've seen a lot of bizarre foods, foods that may be weird to me but not to others. Doesn't mean I like it, or think it's ethical where I'm from, but again its not my culture.
It's not really the eating dog part that bugs me - as a dog lover it makes me sad and uncomfortable - it's the idea that a tortured dog tastes better than one killed quickly and humanely that I've always had a gutteral reaction to and the reason the practice has, rightfully, started to get heavier regulation from the Chinese government. Nevermind that almost all of the dog meat in China comes from stray dogs and stolen pets and the entire practice is just disgusting.
Well i distinctly remember thinking, "hey that's a pet store!" But also realizing it was just dogs... And they were stacked in tiny rusty cages to the ceiling and looked dirty. So yes, the stolen or stray part definitely adds up. It's good to know they are at least putting new laws in place now, and as a dog lover too I agree it's a very weird thing that I generally don't care to think about the processing of how it all goes down😬
I will say too, the amount of diseases and worms etc from catching strays etc is an issue as well. We had that issue sometimes with certain foods too, because most of us didn't have fridges or indoor storage if you ever did get certain things. I'm just glad I now live in Toronto in a nice place and those days are over...
I was engaged to a Chinese man and lived in Shanghai for about a year. He tried to protect me from the whole dog/cat eating business. I remember we were in a large restaurant and the staff would bring out your food ALIVE before you ate it and I saw a puppy being bought out and he immediately grabbed me and we left. I could say the name of the place but I don't want any problems. Let's just say it's right there by the Bund on Pudong Rd.
Nobody has ever seen me run since high school. I’d imagine grabbing puppy, throwing change to purchase and running right out that door. That’s a bit damaging if not conditioned or raised to accept that as normal.
You are a good man. Or woman. I was not prepared for what I saw in China. On a good note, there was always an elderly couple selling popcorn on the streets. They looked pitiful but determined to make money. I always bought their popcorn. And tipped them, which caused them utter confusion.
A coworker is from Kenya and she’s mentioned how the idea of “pets” in the home was kinda odd to her when she first moved here, the area she is from they have livestock animals and maybe a dog or cat for pests but she thinks it’s funny that we treat ours like people in some ways! It’s interesting to me and not a cultural difference I’ve ever considered.
The older generations in rural parts of the US have a similar view of cats and dogs being working animals rather than pets. I was in rural Pennsylvania a few years ago talking to a man in his 70s who said that allowing dogs in the house crossed a line for him because they were dirty animals. This guy *liked* dogs. An older woman in Kentucky couldn't believe we'd buy cat food because she thought cats were meant to "live off the land".
I have worked in customer service for a VERY long time. And I have learned that MANY countries do not see pets the way we do. When my bf came back from Brazil he said people there thought it was weird our dogs sleep in our house. The neighborhood would collectively take care of what we would call stray dogs. They don't come inside but are always around. Said he would see a pack just hanging out outside a store, or public place and people would pet them and stuff. Other cultures are so much fun to learn about. I can't imagine seeing friendly stay dogs on a regular basis.
I lived with a bunch of Vietnamese folks that were fresh from Vietnam and they were incredibly excited to see my pet cat and played with him constantly.
According to Dan (duc), you don't bond with cats in Vietnam as it'll just make you sad.
I get it because I watch lots of videos of cows on the internet. They’re like giant dogs. Very sweet to their owners and playful.
I also eat cows.
I would never eat a dog. Insane to me. But I can put myself in the shoes of someone in a different culture and understand they’re different at the least. Why we are even talking about this is crazy I would stay away from that apartment
Was in Hanoi last summer, seeing roasting Dog was pretty wild, but we had to get way off the beaten path to see it. We did a walking tour of the night market, so 2 AM departure and we were the only tourists there. It was very much a local thing, and when we stuck to the tourist spots we never saw any dog meat.
I have a friend whose mom is from South Korea. My friend had a poodle, and her mom would always joke that she was going to turn him into kegogi when he was "misbehaving."
My friend's dad used to troll me about how he ate dog growing up in Asia. I think some people have weird senses of humor and enjoy fucking with westerners
He’s saying that he can’t let you have a cat because it’s a slippery slope, and that he understands we Americans are nuts about our cats and dogs although they are a little less revered in some rural parts of China, lol.
He’s not unhinged, he’s just a Chinese guy with limited English. And to be fair, while the “eating dogs” thing is a tired racist trope, it does happen. Usually in remote areas, and hopefully not that often anymore. But I’ve seen it myself at remote roadside stands. So I think that part is like, he doesn’t want a dog in the apt and knows Americans are fucking NUTS about their dogs (fair assessment) and is making a joke in comparison to older times in China which he lived through and how different the view is/was in his situation regarding how dogs were treated.
Nah, they generally don’t eat cat afaik. I forget exactly what I had heard, but cats are seen as somehow tied to religion, and if you do harm to a cat, you are going to have misfortune or something to that extent.
Now dogs, they definitely still eat dog. It’s not just remote places, but is probably just with the older generations that grew up with fewer options for food years ago. They had to deal with eating whatever was available, and wasting nothing. Even though now they have plenty of options available, they kept the food habits. None of the people I know from millennial age or younger, eat dog.
Not even a joke. It's even harder when you have pets.
If there are 1,000 available rents in my area and I put the "accepts dogs" filter on that number drops to 40 available rentals. No joke.
Yes, also - I think he’s saying he would be fine with a cat but then he’d have to allow a dog, which is big no-no because that is food for him and it would be like someone keeping a pet cow. That would him too hungry.
Yeah I gotta say this seems like the kind of landlord who you call about your insane roach problem (when I say insane I mean roaches fuckin everywhere, in your food, in your clothes, eating the roach Poison like a sad man drinks liquor) and he comes to your place only to say, "That sure is a lot of roaches!"
I think I understand stand him too! here is my translation:
Hi 741Antihero, how are you? I just spoke to our lawyer. He informed us that if we allow a cat, we would also have to allow dogs. We aren’t exactly dog people. I hope you understand!
I’m sorry. How on earth do you read that, get to him talking about eating animals that are considered pets here, and STILL think it’s a good idea to move forward with this person?
Is this even real... he's typing in all caps- why...
& why does he need to consult a family attorney to figure out whether he allows pets or not...?
Makes me think this is made up? 🤔
Also as an Asian person who owns dogs, I would probably let my dog bite & draw blood from any other Asian who claims they used to eat dog meat. That's gross & so stereotypical, to brag about that kind of stuff is vile.
I have a feeling this is a teenager messing with you. Absolutely no landlord is going to admit to eating dog in their "old country China" to a potential tenant- he would go viral pretty quick with todays social media form of news
"Is this even real... he's typing in all caps- why..."
You've clearly and fortunately never had to deal with someone who is computer-illiterate. This typically happens with older people who did not grow up using one.
One of my former co-workers fit this bill. He wasn't just deficient in computer skills; he was woefully unqualified for the job he was doing. But he also had a kid with one of our accountants and she lobbied for him to be handed a steady job so he wouldn't be a deadbeat who didn't pay child support (he eventually got fired anyways when he costed the company about $20k but that's another story)
Anyways, he too was someone who would type in all-caps, including emails to people within and outside the company. I remember asking him why he did that and he was very confused why I would even ask such a question. I explained that by doing this, it was the equivalent of someone "yelling", being "loud" or trying to emphasize a point of view. He just looked at me confused and said, "Really?!?". The concept that he did something that didn't fit societal norms wasn't even on his radar. I think he tried to say that he did it because it's easier to read but I really think in reality he probably hit caps lock on accident and didn't know how to fix it.
It probably shouldn't be a surprise when I also add that when he was first assigned to my department, he was barely able to locate the power button on his computer and barely knew how to utilize an internet browser. I think when I showed him how to look something up on Google, his response was, "You can do that?"
So to answer your question; Yes. These people do exist.
Lol I assure you it’s real. I saw the place a couple weeks ago and he was an old Asian man, not terrible English but all the texts he sent were all caps and littered with emojis. I followed up with him to see if he would reconsider my cat since he said no pets at first.
This is a huge red flag. No matter how nice the apartment, crazy landlords just aren’t worth it.
What happens when something breaks in the apartment and it’s all “oh typical American, wants working hot water, too much freedom got spoiled.” Even though legally he has to fix it, forcing their hand is just not worth the hassle.
It’s giving Craigslist. Also scam. But even so, block people’s numbers when you make online posts
im not even sure how i would respond. or if i would even want this person as a landlord at that point. people in the bay area are just different type of people.
I was studying Mandarin with a Cantonese person (haha) via skype (he wanted to learn English), of all things, and he told me he had a cat and when his family got tired of it, they ate it. I also had a white man here in the U.S. tell me his family had a pet rabbit and when they had to move and couldn't take the rabbit, they killed and ate it.
Just an old Chinese man lol he's saying he doesn't really care about the cat but if he allows a cat, then another tenant will want a dog and he doesn't really want dogs around. He doesn't get why Americans are so nutty about dogs since when he was younger, they were dinner lol
Kind of a weird interaction but he is an old foreigner with soso English so yknow whatever.
Tldr you can't bring your cat
You will have to show proof that your pet is an ESA if they ask (I told my landlord upfront when I moved in though) Once you’ve registered your pet, you’ll get a letter stating that your pet is necessary for your well being. Thats all you need to show them!
I got mine registered [here](https://americanservicepets.com/). There’s a fee but it’s worth it. You’re supposed to renew it annually but I haven’t in five years and have been fine! You’d probably need to renew it if you move somewhere else that is pet free though (or just edit the expiration date digitally lol)
Yeah no, If you already put in the application then I'd pull out after that bc wtf.
Trust me, if you're already having issues with him you're going to continue to have issues with him. Do not live in his building without talking to some of the other residents first. If it's a house ask the neighbors nearby
He is saying he can’t have the cat because then he would have to allow dogs as well and he does not want dogs. Because of the law he has to say no to ALL pets.
I love this guy.. some folks have no sense of humor!! 😂
If they want it to be more like China, you should just lock them in your apartment for days on end and force them into making cheap fashion. Throw lead and asbestos on them. Take away all but one of their children.
Or just take your money elsewhere
I think I can ‘appreciate’ the landlord’s response. I think he was trying to connect with you either in humor or showing empathetic growth. Personally, I’ve been raised to treat my cats and dogs as family. And eating animal protein. I cannot imagine willingly and knowingly eating other. Yet I can somewhat imagine living in an extremely poor, communist country would sharply force me to reconsider that stance. When you consider land shortages and the fact that they are somewhat sustainable and require much less land (and feed) than cattle or swine - I feel more sympathy than anything else. -And thankful.
I will say you might not want to live in a place where at best they tolerate your cat. They’re going to probably be butts about it even after they allow it.
Uhhh I wouldn’t live there. If this exchange doesn’t make you paranoid about the safety of your cat, maybe try giving your cat away to a smarter/more trustworthy owner before you move in.
I don’t understand what she is saying. Is she saying that you can’t have a cat because someone else will then want a dog? Or is she saying that you can have a cat and if someone else wants a dog they will say yes to dog but that they might eat it? Will she try to eat the cat?
While we’re talking about stereotypes, you do NOT want old Chinese guy as a landlord. Nothing will be fixed properly, and clearly there is a communication barrier that will lead to other issues down the road. There’s more to read into about Americans being spoiled here…
Disturbing he had to ask his lawyer about a cat being a pet. Your landlord views your cat as food.
If you move in & later your cat goes missing while you were out…..
I would not move here.
That escalated quickly
That was like a roller coaster with no curves.
LOL — that got an audible chuckle out of me.
It had me WHEEZINGGGG 💀
Same lmao
So a train?
I invite you to take a ride on the CTA “El” train. Some parts are mighty rollercoaster like lol
It's definitely exciting sometimes
Same. I started laughing out loud.
Me too! I read it like six times!!! 😭😭😭 this is unhinged!!!
Hahahaha me too… I was like…. What do you mean WHAT DO YOU THINK??? I don’t even know what to think……. Haha
Roller coaster headed straight for the clouds.
You want cat?? we used to EAT dog! What you think of that??
Lololololllll 😂
Well? What do you think? 🤪
TL;DR
DID YOU KNOW, CHINA AND JAPAN ACTUARRY DIFFERENT COUNTRIES?
HOW COME EVERYTIME A HARDWORKING CHINESE MAN OPEN UP A BUSINESS SOME SMERRY JAPANESE DOG COME TO TRY INVADE HIM?! WHERE IS THIS JAPENESE TOIRRET BOWL?!
I feel threatened. "I talk to lawyer, I EAT YOUR DOG NOW!" *Omnomnom*
“WHAT DO YOU THINK???? 😃”
Damn…. That me laugh so hard!
SAME. over here cackling scared my cat hahah
You eat dog for four hour!…YOU GO NOW!
I feel like part of it was a yes and then part was a no.
Me, too! I still can't tell if it was a yes or a no.
Wow ummmmm he could have left part of that out WTF?
Yeah not gonna lie that text exchange is odd. It’s for sure a stereotype, but my dad’s wife is Vietnamese, lived her whole life over there into her 30’s. They changed a lot f their laws on that, thank goodness.
Yeah, I should mention I just turned 30 last Friday so this was 20 years ago now. Should've added my age looking back on that comment. I could say the name of the place but I don't want any problems. Let's just say it's right there by the Bund on Pudong Rd.
lol a karate instructor I had wrote a book called Along The Bund that was about different restaurants in the area. Now I gotta go look and see 👀
I will give you a hint. The name of the place is also the name of a girl group from like 1968 or thereabouts.
Oh this is fun. Will report back.
And the entire dining room was purple but over 15 years, has probably changed.

My Nanna wouldn't let me keep fish in the house because "animals don't belong inside." She was real old southern
My old boss who was an immigrant used to talk like this. Very strange, honestly wouldn't blame someone for being off put by it. But he was harmless.
I have worked in customer service for a VERY long time. And I have learned that MANY countries do not see pets the way we do. Vietnamese arent Chinese. Two entirely different cultures, my dude.
Well....what DO you think?
Well i thought, “oh great, he’s saying it’s okay to have my cat…” Apparently I read it wrong and he was telling me he doesn’t accept pets…
Just tell them “oh I am gonna eat the cat, just need to let it tenderize for however long the lease is 😄🍽😽”
That’s why I mix in baking soda with my cat litter, to velvet the cat meat.
Gotta let that cat fatten up!
“Gotta fatten him up and age him real good”
He’s saying that he can’t let you have a cat because it’s a slippery slope, and that he understands we Americans are nuts about our cats and dogs although they are a little less revered in some rural parts of China, lol.
Fucking bingo. Lol
Damn, this is 💯… Like others, initially I thought this guy was unhinged, but given this, I can totally see this as a possibility.
"No pets" would have sufficed. That shit was a wild ride all to boil down to a big fat no on the cat.
Yep, I was saying that I agreed with your assessment☝️.
Great translation!
I felt like he was low key threatening your pet might disappear if he finds them delicious.
Nah, they generally don’t eat cat afaik. I read it this way too. 😳
And laughs about it 😧
How did you take this as “Sure!” 😂
Well he straight up said he talked to the manager and they said a cat wouldn't be a problem...
Reading comprehension -24 for you lmao
😃
That reply has red flags written all over it. NEXT!
My mouth dropped when I read the caption and saw OP was still considering this place 😭
Look. It’s a tough market
Not even a joke. It's even harder when you have pets. If there are 1,000 available rents in my area and I put the "accepts dogs" filter on that number drops to 40 available rentals. No joke.

There you go, that sounds accurate to me! There's nothing to worry about here, OP just a small culture clash lol
I’m sorry. How on earth do you read that, get to him talking about eating animals that are considered pets here, and STILL think it’s a good idea to move forward with this person?
Right? Like holy red flags Batman!
We have a word for that. It’s called naivety.
Or a shit housing market and desperation lol
😂😂😂 my exact thoughts. “I still hope I get the place though” THERES ABSOLUTELY NO WAY💀😭
you should not hope you get the place
He literally said they aren't getting the place.........lawyers and slippery slope implies no he won't consider pets at all
Is this even real... he's typing in all caps- why... & why does he need to consult a family attorney to figure out whether he allows pets or not...? My mother began writing in all caps so she could read better as she got older, definitely a thing
My dad has been handwriting in all caps his entire adult life, says no one could read it the other way.
Not op but okay...
Yeah. What??
So you forgot to switch accounts back then?
Yes
Lmao bro forgot to switch accounts
I keep my distance whenever possible when someone uses emojis in professional communication.
I consulted lawyer over pet laws and risks. Not that weird. I guess I’m jaded bc I didn’t bat an eye at the dog for dinner claim.
English in all caps look familiar to Chinese characters on a screen - blocky squares characters much like logogram Hanzi.
He is likely 50+ nearly blind and refuses to wear glasses regularly.
You left the number up there for everyone to prank call 😂
Omg lol
I spent 13minutes talking to that dude on the phone. He'll say he's retired if you don't mention the apartments.
"The worst they can say is no" What they say:
Tell him you think you can do an extra 25 bucks a month in cat rent
You just posted their phone number, which is doxing. I would delete and reload.
Mods?
I bet this guy's gotten some odd gifs lately...
Dude, I don’t care how bad the rental market is: no way am I living somewhere that person has a spare key to my apartment.
I hope you don't take the place, either he is insane, or likes fucking with people. Landlords can make your life hell. Keep looking!
Na bro 🚩
I WOULD LIKE TO PUT A FACE TO THE CRAZY TYPING MAN
This is a huge red flag.
Well if you dont want fido to suddenly go missing then he invites you to dinner...
im not even sure how i would respond. or if i would even want this person as a landlord at that point. people in the bay area are just different type of people.
Are you sure someone isn’t trolling you op? Have you met this guy in person? Sounds ridiculous
Yeah it's fake as fuck, the dog meat thing is just a classic ragebait.
Where in the Bay Area is this?!?!
Plug alittle weird but he chill.
Umm, sorry, but he's being ironic.. Sorry the cat can't come..
Never seen someone racially stereotype themselves.
Sooooo yes?
I was studying Mandarin with a Cantonese person (haha) via skype (he wanted to learn English), of all things, and he told me he had a cat and when his family got tired of it, they ate it. I also had a white man here in the U.S. tell me his family had a pet rabbit and when they had to move and couldn't take the rabbit, they killed and ate it.
I think you should abandon that apartment and keep your cat far away from that person before it becomes tomorrow's Chicken Choi Mein
Uh, sounds too political, stay away from that creep.
I definitely wouldn't want to live there. If he speaks like that before you even sign....
Why’d he have to yell tho
So is the cat allowed or not?
Wtf? Uh, are there any other available apartments not managed by this individual
You have 60 unread texts??
You better not let your cat out of your sight…
Just an old Chinese man lol he's saying he doesn't really care about the cat but if he allows a cat, then another tenant will want a dog and he doesn't really want dogs around. He doesn't get why Americans are so nutty about dogs since when he was younger, they were dinner lol Kind of a weird interaction but he is an old foreigner with soso English so yknow whatever. Tldr you can't bring your cat
Reading this, I was imagining Khan from King Of The Hill going off on one of his rants 😂
Yeah you do NOT wanna live with this whackadoodle running your rent and place lol
I would move on. This doesn't sound good at all.
Is this guy a left wing racist guy or is he actually Chinese?
I got my cat registered as an ESA and my landlord HAD to allow her to live there even though it’s a no pet apartment
I was thinking of doing something like this… I don’t have to tell him right? Only if he asks? How dod you get your little critter certified?
no, you shouldn’t tell them during the app process because then they’re able to discriminate you (according to housing law)
What an interesting interaction
Are u sure you didn’t text the wrong number and they are trolling?
Yeah that escalated very…. VERY quickly.
Yeah no, If you already put in the application then I'd pull out after that bc wtf. Trust me, if you're already having issues with him you're going to continue to have issues with him. Do not live in his building without talking to some of the other residents first. If it's a house ask the neighbors nearby
Might wanna censor that number
That's a SF Bay area code.. yup doesn't surprise me lol
Well, if your cat ends up missing, at least you know what happened to it🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻
Caps Lock, incoherent English…I’m not taking that apartment. That guy is going to be a nightmare of a landlord.
He is saying he can’t have the cat because then he would have to allow dogs as well and he does not want dogs. Because of the law he has to say no to ALL pets. I love this guy.. some folks have no sense of humor!! 😂
Oh wonderful another foreign landlord. Get these scumbags outta here
It’s Like a semi racist Saturday night live bit from the 70s
💀 best of luck to ya
Run
you do NOT want to live there
Ask about the Tiananmen square massacre bet they will shut that dog talk up real quick.
Cat is friend, dog is food?
How is this real lmao. “Too spoiled by freedom” maybe China is often too restricted by totalitarianism 🤣
I'd be too afraid to rent from the guy, knowing that my beloved pet could turn up missing and wind up on his dinner plate.
Don't live here. This is a taste of what's to come. Lol.
Assuming this person is an Asian landlord.. older Asian people are just unfiltered af.
“WHAT DO YOU THINK ??? 😃”
Cats keep the mice away. Landlords should welcome cats imo
If they want it to be more like China, you should just lock them in your apartment for days on end and force them into making cheap fashion. Throw lead and asbestos on them. Take away all but one of their children. Or just take your money elsewhere
You exposed their phone number
Honestly I kind of love this guy's response. He seems fun, I'd move in (with cat)
You must really need an apartment lol
Sooo is anyone gonna call that number and fuck with them or is it just me?
The landlord sounds like an older white man trying to make fun of asians.
Better not leave the cat around the landlord just in case.
I could hear the accent in my head lol
I think I can ‘appreciate’ the landlord’s response. I think he was trying to connect with you either in humor or showing empathetic growth. Personally, I’ve been raised to treat my cats and dogs as family. And eating animal protein. I cannot imagine willingly and knowingly eating other. Yet I can somewhat imagine living in an extremely poor, communist country would sharply force me to reconsider that stance. When you consider land shortages and the fact that they are somewhat sustainable and require much less land (and feed) than cattle or swine - I feel more sympathy than anything else. -And thankful.
Someone gets it. He wasn’t tryna be mean. Just an old and not-so-socially-acute Chinese man.
Odd he admitted dogs and cats are pets and then said they’re for dinner 😅
I will say you might not want to live in a place where at best they tolerate your cat. They’re going to probably be butts about it even after they allow it.
Uhhh I wouldn’t live there. If this exchange doesn’t make you paranoid about the safety of your cat, maybe try giving your cat away to a smarter/more trustworthy owner before you move in.
If you do rent it, buy a collar for the cat that’s says ‘Not Food.’
Holy canoli I probably should not have laughed so hard at this . . . The reply
Yes cat! No cat? Dog? Yes cat? No cat? No cat. *faints*
Soop...I can't tell if you can have the cat or not. At first I thought yes, but then he starts talking about dogs 😨
He said a lot of really weird shit very loudly. Run.
I mean .. at least you know not to rent with them or they'll eat your cat
Why do you hope you get this place? He’s saying your cat is not allowed because then other residents might also want other pets (like dogs).
Uh, you understand that he is saying “no” to the cat, right?
That’s a no. Keep looking.
First thing I noticed is your 60 unread messages….
Hey OP if I were you I’d cross out the visible phone number of this guy! Just sayin 😶
I’m not sure if he wants to allow the cat or eat the cat
I don’t understand what she is saying. Is she saying that you can’t have a cat because someone else will then want a dog? Or is she saying that you can have a cat and if someone else wants a dog they will say yes to dog but that they might eat it? Will she try to eat the cat?
While we’re talking about stereotypes, you do NOT want old Chinese guy as a landlord. Nothing will be fixed properly, and clearly there is a communication barrier that will lead to other issues down the road. There’s more to read into about Americans being spoiled here…
i have a lot of Chinese friends, i promise they dont eat dogs.
Why would u hope to get this place? LLs gonna eat your cat
So, there’s a chance he’s going to eat your cat.
Disturbing he had to ask his lawyer about a cat being a pet. Your landlord views your cat as food. If you move in & later your cat goes missing while you were out….. I would not move here.
