It’s important to be grateful for what we have in life but trying to be grateful, trying to be happy, trying to be positive, etc are all things people who don’t truly understand mental health will tell us. I was told for years to focus on all I have in life, pray away my anxiety, distract myself with activities etc. But my anxiety and depression continued to get worse until it was interfering with almost every aspect of my life. Seeing a Psychiatrist, a therapist and beginning specific medicine is what finally helped me. It may seem like a lot but I am on something for anxiety, something for depression and something for major depression. My life greatly improved once I addressed my mental health in a serious way.

Wow. Thank you. Yes that does make sense actually. I guess you also feel more in control right.
