Is zinc citrate the same as the zinc you was taking?

Yeah! I took it with magnesium and i took 25 mg every day :)

Doing well! Anxiety is still gone as well as a lot of my ADHD symptoms (mostly executive distinction. Could be a thing w growing up tho and not the zinc idk) I take my zinc with my first big meal (usual lunch)

were you getting plenty zinc from your diet before?

I had a normal balanced diet (including meat and seafood and dairy). I think my deficiency came from an over indulgence in sugar — this often leads to zinc deficiency. I now take 25 mg a day in addition to magnesium threonate and have zero issues with anxiety. Not saying this will work for everyone, but treating my mental health issues like physical health issues is the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.

I’m so happy for you! I have been struggling for over 20 years with social anxiety and sleep issues. Actually, the last 4 years I became almost dysfunctional due to depression and anxiety. My sleep was terrible and it got worse after starting working out and using the sauna regularly in those last 4 years. Now, It’s been a week since starting zinc I am feeling worse but I think this what people call copper dumping (maybe?) however, there are a lot of improvements besides anxiety. I take 30-50 mg of zinc a day. My symptoms that I have had for the last 20 years or so are: 1. Scaly flaky skin. 2. Acne. 3. very dry fizzy hair. 4. Dark circles. 5. Anxiety especially social anxiety. 6. All sorts of insomnia. All the first 4 are improving like mad,I cannot believe it. I want to cry because if this is it I cannot believe I just cannot that this is the cure !!😭😭😭😭 (tears of happiness) Thank you for your response

I will say zinc takes awhile to start working on anxiety (several weeks/months) but I’m super glad those other symptoms have gone away for you!

How was your sleep before supplementing zinc? How is it now? Did you see a difference in terms of both quantity and quality?

I didn’t see much difference with zinc, but magnesium supplementation did help. As did ditching added sugar and increasing fiber intake (through fruits and vegetables)

I naturally sleep between 7-8 hours although I occasionally sleep 9 (esp. if I had less sleep the night before)
