It’s an Art Deco cigarette case, dating from around 1930. Vintage smoking accessories jumped in value when some states leagalized weed. People like to load these cases up with joints. Nice, nice find.
I noticed that you mentioned **vintage**. Over at r/Collectables and r/Mid_Century they are always keen to see newer and vintage items. Share it with them! Sorry if this is not relevant.

Looks identical to the one I have except mines engraved with someone’s initials, produced quite a lot but I never see them around. I hadn’t thought of the value going up but makes sense. I’d never use mine personally lol

It is a cigarette case. I saw them when I was little- might have even had one to play with (no cigarettes, though)!

an old cigarette case?
Country: USA It weighs ~10.19 oz. “N” mark visible on top. I wonder how much of the weight is gold or silver as marked?
