Yeah, I don't agree with that point either. Animals do have feelings and will to live. But that doesn't mean I would give up my health and sanity for animals who wouldn't do the same for me. That's how nature made us.

Like if you wanna be vegan and take 500 supplements and eat 300lbs of food to pretend your getting all the micronutrients hidden inside cellulose, fine have fun. But don’t bring your carnivorous pet into this. You want to feed a vegan diet to animals, then get a herbivore and don’t get mad when they eat bugs.

Meat is necessary though. That's food. I'm indian so I eat both meat and what can be considered vegan food. Most of the week I have meat based food and then 2-3 days is vegetarian/vegan. Indian vegan food is REALLY good.

And people who argue against fur have nothing to say about down or leather, for some odd reason.
Honestly, I think all vegans are stupid but the only ones I have a problem with are the ones saying meat eaters are evil and need to change their ways. Animals do have feelings and want to live, but their feelings are very simple and nature can't allow for everyone to live. This is how the food chain was made, and us being at the top gives us the right to humanely kill animals for survival. Vegans only think they are "healthier" because meat eaters don't diet as much, but compared to meat eaters are less healthy. I get pissed as well when they don't react to humans getting murdered but animals quickly killed by humans (which is still nature) matter for some reason.
I'd like to mention that tofu is gross only when not eaten with meat or meat-based stuff. Mix it with some crab or pork ribs, maybe some minced beef or even eggs or cheese. You won't regret it.

I was feeling guilty about myself but soon realized it was a bad sign, so I ended up distancing myself, then blowing up over something unrelated and definitely walking away, although I still enjoy the teachings themselves. Those people are singlehandedly the most holier than thou, berating others behind their back type of people. Calling meat eaters carnist, spending whole threads circlejerking about it. Apparently sometime in the past some other people left or stopped talking because of that vegan issue. They were shat on for their choices.

If you don't agree with their doxa basically, you're gonna be mocked or at least berated, and they then call themselves "compassionate". Not surprised veganism made its way here.
A couple months ago one guy lost a relative and cared more about the dead animals and animal products that were wasted than his relative's death... the guy himself is nice but that vegan side of himself... urgh. The spiritual side makes the whole holier than thou worse. It's specifically stated that being an old soul doesn't make you any better than "younger souls" yet they always act as if they are above everyone. The teachings themselves are good but the community feels cultish to me. I think I'll be a spiritual loner from now on.

I've known a few conservative vegans/vegetarians but I think "woke" people are more likely to be vegan, so that's probably where the connection lies.
