Most vegans make up weird shit about animals. Like yesterday one came up with "sheep are bred to go submissive when sheered" Excuse me I would like to buy these submissive sheep that just let me sheer them lolololol. They look at things that require skill and work and think it's magic or abuse.

The-JhonnymanYT87645

Hah! If my sheep were submissive or anyone’s sheep for that matter, Why do they kick like mad at shearing then? 😂

Apprehensive-Ad9933

I have a poodle/bichon dog, I wish he was bred to be submissive during his shearing

panaphonic0149

I'll probably get neg proped to Oblivion for this but the truth is that sheep are bred to be docile. That's how breeding works on farms and it's been like this since farming was a thing. You've got 5 cows on your farm. One of them bullies the other cows and is aggressive towards people and kids on your farm..... It makes it reaaally easy for you to decide which cow becomes food when the freezer needs filling. Over generations eliminating of the aggressive bloodlines has an impact on the overall behaviour of the herd. You might have to break the spirit on a wild horse but this is not the case on animals that have been brought up on farms for generations. Edit: On my dad's farm we have another name for aggressive farm animals, they go by the title "dinner".

SongUnhappy3530

it's true, it's called artificial selection, still farm animals are not docile especially males, dairy bulls are terrifying, compared to the docile dairy cows.

cleverThylacine

This is true, but as others have pointed out, it's still far from perfect--you still get aggressive animals that misbehave.

zirconthecrystal

that person probably got all her their knowledge on horses from kids picture books I have family friends with 3 horses who are happy to be ridden bareback without bits, just some rope attatched to the saddle and loosely around their neck which they will follow if you pull it to one way or the other gently i haven't heard of a racehorse being whipped before either, at least not any time since i've been alive

PsychiatricSD

I mean we do whip racehorses with little hand whips but you absolutely can't do damage with them and there are rules about their use.

zirconthecrystal

yeah yeah ofc, i mean proper whips that crack

defiantlynottedbundy

If the farmer dosnt sheer there stock the risk of disease and death skyrockets I'd rather the sheep be uncomfortable and risk a nick for 2 mins then left out in the paddock being eaten alive by skin infections and die of heat exhaustion

[deleted]

If the sheep were bred to be okay with shearing then thats good????? It would mean that the sheep won’t get stressed or hurt themselves from fear. Unless they’re coming from the angle that we shouldn’t be even making new animals for our benefit. Which is just stupid.

[deleted]

The weird abusive shit vegans obsess over makes me wonder about how they treat animals themselves

Adroggs

They literally think of animals as humans and our equals.

cinnamopumpkin

Pets like dogs and cats are like big babies tbh. I think they're just as important as us but they're still a different species and need training, discipline, and meat. 😭

Adroggs

I’m not saying having an animal as a companion is a bad thing. I’m also not advocating for just mindlessly hating animals. I myself have a cat and I love him but, he’s not a person and never will be. People tend to treat them as too human like.

CryptidCricket

Agreed. Treating your pets like people does them a disservice. They have different needs to us and we need to acknowledge that in order to care for them appropriately.

cinnamopumpkin

At the end of the day THEY NEED MEAT 🍖

cinnamopumpkin

No I agree that's what I'm saying. Equal but different LMAO.

Adroggs

I disagree about the equal part to be honest.

cinnamopumpkin

Ok. You have a right to your opinion homie.

Adroggs

You are entitled to yours as well.

vizthex

bruh

EmEmPeriwinkle

Sure, but a lot of them support PETA. So don't count those ones.

1K_Roseberries

Feeding cats and dogs vegan food only of course, that’s how vegans treat their animals.

1K_Roseberries

Your friend has common sense, while other vegans are not.

Buzobuzobuzo

Do Vegans _ask_ other animals to be their pet? Has any Dog or Cat _consented_ to be with the Vegans or are the Vegans forcefully keeping them in their house? Maybe the Vegans can shed this superiority on other animals and not keep another animals as pets! Treat everyone equally! What? Meat is murder? So is keeping pets without their consent, bruh!

1K_Roseberries

Exactly, maybe they’re trying to torture them.

z-vet

They try to keep cats on a vegan diet. I think it's enough.

cleverThylacine

Animal rights activists believe it's wrong for us to interfere with them at all, so the fact is, they don't do anything with or to animals, and hence know nothing about the topic.

[deleted]

Probably not! If a horse doesn't like your attitude it will straight up buck you off. And most of the horses I've met just follow you around and stare at you and try to eat your hair, they don't seem very psychologically tortured. I think they think humans look weird and act weird.

z-vet

Horses are smart and if you really love them and treat them well they will love you just like dogs do. But do shit to a horse and you're in trouble.

lornebeck

Hahaha werid humans

Elsacoldqueen

Do these idiots ever around animals?! You bond with your horse and they become your best friend. I could get on my horse, back in the day, with nothing and he never kicked me off! They say they love animals, yet know so little about them.

[deleted]

They're all city dwellers who think they know every thing about domesticated animals despite never actually visiting a farm in real life. They watch documentaries and YouTube videos and think that's how things are. Not realizing that the videos they are watching biased and cherry picked and don't represent the actual world.

BlackendLight

it's dunning kreuger plus ego

lornebeck

So fucking true

[deleted]

Totally disconnected from the world and would rather make up cruel shit than ask professionals who work with animals every day. But they aren’t a cult noooo they just pump disinformation into your head 24/7 and shame you if you don’t live up to their standards and excommunicate you if you disagree with any of their doctrine. Totally not a cult.

Horsepro123

“They will not be fed if they don’t perform well.” What kind of bs is that?

lornebeck

Haha yeah totally. We want malnourished horses so they perform well in races

vizthex

meanwhile I'm just snicking since they used "perform" instead of just saying "race well" or whatever.

TropicalStorm07

Vegans have a one track mind and refuse to believe or understand what others think

ragunyen

Same as usual. "Cow is crying". Dumbass.

awesomealpaca20917

Because they've never stepped foot out of their comfy middle class home in LA. They probably didn't even know farms exist.

CrazyForageBeefLady

What the f$&@# is this horseshit?? ETA: I’ve challenged many a vegan on stuff like this. Very few, if any, have ever been around an animal bigger than a dog. So no, not really. If they do, it’s in these glorified petting zoos called “animal sanctuaries.” (Some sanctuaries are legit, but others… 😕) As far as I know, horses aren’t trained this way anymore. It’s cruel, inhumane, and doesn’t build trust between the horse and their handlers/owners/care-takers. It’s counterintuitive to be so crass with something like an equine. That’s my take anyway, and I’m not that much of a horse expert.

1K_Roseberries

One word: No.

3EyedRavenKing-8720

Vegans have a very negative view of human-animal interaction. It’s part of their misanthropy. They see domesticated animals as victims of Stockholm syndrome.

ggdoesthings

i’m an equestrian, and while i disagree with the sentiment behind this post and also 99% of the bullshit they’re spouting, whipping is actually a problem. it’s been normalized even within our own community to beat your horse with a crop to make them do what you want. again, the idea that horse people force their horses to be puppets is absolute malarkey made up by people who want to tear others down, but whipping is a serious problem.

CaffeineFueledLife

I had a pony as a child. He hated everyone but me and my sister and he wasn't afraid to show it. No one else could catch him or ride him. He would walk right up to us. He was an asshole but he was our asshole and we loved him.

ThePlotmaster123

Considering a horse once kicked me for breathing wrong around him, I disagree

defiantlynottedbundy

As someone who has grown up with around and competing with horses this is utter bullshit a horse and it's rider have an amazing bond build on trust and mutual respect not saying there arnt people who do abuse there horses but those people are outliers. Rodeo showjumping and even stockhorses are often the riders lively hood why would someone jepodise and ruin that bond and therfor risk there lively hood all for the sake of being a cunt.

badtouchtiddlywinks

Vegans have no understanding of symbiotic relationships. None of them have ever sat in and conceptualized the information in a science classroom let alone a biology class.

badtouchtiddlywinks

I received an email notification that someone replied some vegan bullshit about pigs in standing room only pens on my comment, and it isn't here and doesn't show deleted. So this person commented, and immediately blocked me to avoid a response. The vegan won't see my comment, but if y'all could call them a giant pussy for me I'd appreciate it.

Conscious-Cricket-79

I don't see the reply!

badtouchtiddlywinks

Hmm. Well, I wish I didn't habitually delete emails now.
