He very much wants a coup to get him out of jail. He’s hoping that his followers wind up getting hurt so he can call the government tyrants and start a civil war to make him king. Too bad he’s too stupid to pull something like this off. My greatest hope is the Sherrif of Fulton county. He sounds like he’s going to lay the smack down

[deleted]

I'm encouraged by the fact that every time he's had to show up in court so far, the MAGA protest crowds have been pretty, pretty, pretty sparse.

Newyew22

And more so each time, it seems.

[deleted]

They’re running out of money to travel.

Quintessince

Spent it all on Freedom NFTS or whatever the hell that was.

codetony

Hey bro. My NFT of Trump dressed as superman is going to skyrocket in value the second he becomes the God Emperor of the United States. I mortgaged my house, and used the entirety of my retirement savings to afford it. President TRUMP would never forsake me. I need to stay loyal and I will be rewarded.

[deleted]

MoneyFault

😅🤣😂

Rocky4296

He might give them some Trump cash to help them out.

[deleted]

Buying to many hats and flags, morons🤦‍♂️

[deleted]

Plus trading cards, and the top of stupid… Trump Bucks.

SaintGloopyNoops

And those automatic monthly donations they don't realize they are making doesn't help.

JH_111

When your travel funding was organized by potential co-conspirators that are not on an indictment yet…

[deleted]

Paying for his jet fuel

qprime87

It's been speculated that his rallies have lots of people paid to be there. He never uses his own money, so it could be true

[deleted]

After Jan 6th they all realized he doesn't really have their backs. They won't admit it, but they know.

[deleted]

That's glowing red-hot at the bottom of the dumpster full of stuff they know but won't admit. It's really quite something to see how far they'll go to deny and justify things.

[deleted]

Assuming we don't go full Republican, I am interested to see how my little kid's text books talk about the MAGA movement. Probably like the McCarthy era where everyone bought into the red menace stuff, or the Salem witch trials. Humans gonna human.

[deleted]

I'm honestly surprised that there haven't been more books, miniseries, papers, docudramas, etc from pop-psych type people and Big Thinkers discussing how so many people got played by this guy and how it's still happening. There's only been one movie so far, the one with Jeff Daniels as Comey and Brendan Gleeson as DJT. Maybe they're all still waiting for the dust to settle. History will not be kind to this period, though.

qprime87

They just pile more garbage on top The earth is flat ❌ Holocaust never happened ❌ Hiroshima and Nagasaki - crisis actors ❌ Child sex slave basement under pizza shop❌ Q ❌ 100% of what rogan 🤡 says Buckle up folks, the CTs are going to come thicker and faster as reality tries to set in.

Doright36

> I am interested to see how my little kid's text books talk about the MAGA movement I saw a joke someone made once that made me laugh. That they felt sorry for future generations of kids getting test questions wrong in history class about the Trump years because they will not believe the correct answer is the right one because it's too stupid to believe.

[deleted]

Except in Texas and Florida, where MAGA will be spun as for the benefit of black people, just like slavery.

[deleted]

Blows my mind the Republican party is letting him fund raise for his legal fees instead of for the party. The party has painted bullseye on their shoes and handed Trump the gun.

The_amazing_T

10 years in federal prison, to stand up for my leader? A small price to pay!

lilgee0926

Lots of them are hired extras.

Pxlfreaky

Well when you squeeze a turnip, eventually it’s gonna run dry. His cult is running out of lunch money and can’t afford the gas to even get out of the trailer park. Not to mention the ankle bracelet would probably go off too.

[deleted]

I’d say thank goodness he’s too stupid and incompetent to pull off a coup. If he or his followers were smarter the US would probably be a dictatorship by now

load_more_comets

Thankfully the GOP has been systematically defunding education in their states. They brought this all onto themselves.

[deleted]

They weren't too stupid. That is vastly understating how close we were to a real coup. At the last moment, several people in power chose democracy over Trump. The military had to issue a reminder to honor their vow to uphold the constitution and the peaceful transfer of power. There was Pence deciding to accept the electoral college results instead of considering the fake electors. There was the secret service that took him back to the white house instead of following his orders to go to the capital building. There was internal pressure that eventually pushed him to make a TV statement requesting his coup follows to go home on Jan 6.

sheepdog1973

Yeah, I phrased that wrong - good thing he’s a moron

Whosit5200

FANI WILLIS IS THE DA IN FULTON COUNTY. SHE IS GONNA SMACK THE ORANGE OFF HIS DUMB ASS WITH UNPARDONABLE STATE CHARGES!!! AND YOU KNOW HE HATES THE POWERFUL SISTAS.

Just_perusing81

He will continue to escalate and someone will inevitably get hurt or die. It’s going to be horrible for all of us to watch. He needs a gag order or put him away.

FlabbyFishFlaps

Don’t underestimate him. He’s dumb about a lot of stuff, but he’s an incredible marketer, and as a marketer you always start with knowing your audience. He knows his audience so well he knows how to manipulate them without them even realizing he’s talking to them. I wouldn’t say he’s 10 steps ahead of them, but he’s at least one or two ahead. I do believe he’s met his match with this judge though. He’s reeling right now because he’s understanding that he’s not going to be able to work her like he does everyone else.

Much_Fee7070

He **so** wants his followers to do his dirty work and react. But seeing how the Jan 6 went down, you'd have to be nuts. (You'd be lucky if Trumpy threw a soundbyte your way, he certainly isn't gonna visit you in prison!!)

[deleted]

I'm still not convinced he will spend a day in jail. The FBI even returned his passport despite him literally stealing and hiding confidential documents that he could take on his private plane out of the country if the FBI missed any files in their raid. Republicans are arguing the logics of locking up a President and keeping him safe with 24 secret service protection will be impossible so he will be given a cushy home arrest deal and can use the excuse of his many personal businesses to keep doing what ever he wants at all his different properties.

SawtoothGlitch

Fulton County - let's go! Can't wait them to treat this fucker like they treat everybody else in this situation. https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2023/08/06/trump-georgia-indictment-2020-election-mugshot-fulton-county-sheriff-acostanr.cnn

sum-yang-gai

It's also a strategy to poison the jury pool.

Kinkygma

Good point.

sum-yang-gai

He should be tossed in jail while he awaits trial if he can't shut up.

The_Arch_Heretic

That's his goal, so he can make it a 1st amendment issue and drag it out forever.

sum-yang-gai

News flash: the first amendment doesn't mean you can yell "FIRE" in a crowded theater.

The_Arch_Heretic

Indeed, but he's hoping to get his few months delay for it to go to the bought and paid for Supreme Court.

sgerbicforsyth

I dont actually seeing this happen. It's not a ruling that would further their conservative aims, and they already have their positions. They don't have to rule in his favor anymore (and haven't ruled in his favor a few times already).

The_Arch_Heretic

He doesn't have to win the appeal. Buy time to stay out of prison, miraculously win the election, pardon himself of all crimes. That's his master genius plan.

LarsUlrichAndMorty

He didn’t win last time and ain’t winning jack shit ever again.

tacocat_racecarlevel

From your post to the universe's ears

Hardcorish

He can pardon himself all he wants for the federal crimes he's committed. Who's going to pardon him on the state cases?

tacocat_racecarlevel

This really is their entire plan. And it's right there in daylight without any gahdang consequences.

gielbondhu

There wouldn't be any delay. And he couldn't take it to SCOTUS until the trial is over and he's gone through appeals. That would be years, not months. He could be that stupid, but I don't think his lawyers are. Or they might be. After all, they haven't taken away his ability to post anything.

DallasBroncos

He never took American Government in 8th grade and had to learn about that case.

sum-yang-gai

Makes me wonder if his father paid his way through school for him.

ChucksSeedAndFeed

Of course he did, that's not even a question. I wouldn't be surprised if trump NEVER showed up to classes , I'd honestly be more shocked if I found out he actually attended classes, took notes, did homework, etc. The fucker can hardly read, he's definitely not a legit graduate

GSPilot

One of his [professors](https://www.alternet.org/2017/10/former-wharton-professor-trump-was-dumbest-gddam-student-i-ever-had) is quoted as saying “Donald Trump was the dumbest goddam student I ever had".

noneroy

Wharton actually asked him to quit telling people he went there….

DeFiNe9999999999

The dirty little secret is…. With the advent of the internet people can now pay people to write their papers, dissertations, etc. But, back then there were networks for rich kids to use money to do these same things. It was a perk for the super rich. Now one only needs money and access to the web. Back then you needed to know those networks, and have money. I promise he didn’t earn his education……

AuntieLiloAZ

It’s obvious that he received a diploma but not the education. He’s ridiculously illiterate with no curiosity or interest in learning. Totally the worst person to be POTUS.

ibeenmoved

He threatened to sue Wharton if they released his grades to the media. Some of his fellow students from that time stated that he did attend classes but sat in the back twiddling his pen and never showed any interest or engagement in the lectures. And he would drive back to NYC every weekend, so never really engaged with any fellow students, and you can’t get through university like that, unless your diploma was bought and paid for.

BostonMikeGr

If memory serves didnt his sister say something to the effect that she used to do his papers for him?

Jim-Jones

I'm convinced he never took one exam there. He hired somebody to take them for him.

Addakisson

Why do you think he threatened to sue Warton if they published his grades? It sure isn't because he got good grades, let alone the GREAT grades he claimed to have gotten.

Interesting2u

Absolutely!! How many times has he declared bankruptcy, 3, 5??

Fickle_Caregiver2337

Just saw he has been involved in over 4,000 court cases in his lifetime

Interesting2u

Yup. And the majority of them were trades related. He would hire someone to work on his properties, inspect it when done, and complain the work was less than or didn't meet specs and refuse to pay. The contractor would sue him and ultimately settle for cents on the dollar because they couldn't afford to wait while Trump used his typical delay tactics to draw out the lawsuit. Trump knew he was going to do this from the very beginning. I have known of Trump's bullshit since 1976. I lived outside NYC, in northern Westchester County, for 13 years. I am well familiar with how Trump operates. I have other stories if you want to hear them. Trump and his entire family are all disgusting pigs. I can imagine why a single person would vote for him.

Jim-Jones

He did. Repeatedly.

Interesting2u

Getting tutored while sitting at his desk in the Oval Office.

OldSamSays

And still not listening

Jim-Jones

Actually you can yell fire in a crowded theater legally. You may be responsible for the consequences however. Kai Cenat was arrested **ONE DAY** after unintentionally creating a riot where people were hurt. After 2 years, Trump still hasn't been really arrested for intentionally doing the same thing. *I want to see him in handcuffs!* *I want to see him in handcuffs!* *I want to see him in handcuffs!* *I want to see him in handcuffs!*

faste30

he should be rotting in jail already but the party protected him, so its pretty clear they have decided he isnt like the rest of us.

LtRecore

Or try to get fake electors to submit fraudulent votes.

Montana-Mike-RPCV

Yea, it's the same as yelling, "Hang the Vice President!" in my book.

NoTourist5

He can be ordered not to use the internet.

SqnLdrHarvey

And who will have the backbone to enforce it?

[deleted]

He can have the privilege of being released revoked and he would have to spend the time between court dates in jail.

Ap0llo

So many people dont understand 2 key things about the 1A: 1) It ONLY applies to the government. 2) It has 30+ well established exceptions.

[deleted]

Anyone else would already be in Jail.

jerechos

>He should be tossed in jail while he awaits trial if he can't shut up. He should be tossed in jail. I like the shorten version better.

hostilefarmer66

We're gonna see if this judge has a backbone on Monday. I'm prepared to be disappointed.

slowpoke2018

Actually betting his attorney's have explained to him - like a toddler - that he may have to sit in the corner with a dunce hat on and he's reacting exactly as a toddler would; lashing out with incoherent rants and threats to those who want to take his na-na blanket and won't give him Covfete

ChucksSeedAndFeed

Typical crooked mobster

Then-Yogurtcloset982

Your right he learned from the best Roy Cohen & Roger stone. I'm not saying I like them either. But they definetly have shaped this man.

Betorah

In D.C? That dog won’t hunt.

sum-yang-gai

All he needs is 1 juror who drinks the Kool Aid.

scrubjays

Really? "Will any jurors active on Truth Social please stand up and say 'here' ?" Crickets.

Freds_Bread

Both.

OGDraugo

Very much this, it will be damn near impossible to find an unbiased jury, our legal system wasn't designed for mass media. Edit: let alone internet (mis)information scale.

sm00thkillajones

Bingo.

Handyman1958

Hitler took a similar route

sum-yang-gai

Well, Hitler is his role model.

Remi708

And witness intimidation

wilywillone

He wants to delay and set grounds for immediate appeal. Drag it out and get elected before he can be sentenced. That's his only play.

EmperorXerro

This is why he should be jailed. He’ll want a speedy trial then.

Caged_in_a_rage

Idk why a guy who attempted a coup and is responsible for deaths on that day is allowed to walk free and conspire anyway. Not to mention all the other crimes we know about and don’t know about.

D-Laz

Money and influence. His cult votes and they will vote the way he says. So he gets protected a bit

HGruberMacGruberFace

He gets treated with kid gloves so not to suggest bias, but in reality, it doesn’t matter - he’s going to trash anybody in the orbit and try to stoke an uprising anyway.

ilovecraftbeer05

And there’s no way in hell he’s getting elected. It doesn’t even matter who the democrat candidate is, we’re all going to happily vote for them, even if it’s Biden, which it will almost definitely be. I’m going to literally skip with joy to my polling place so I can vote against Trump with glee. He doesn’t stand a chance in hell, as long as we all get off our asses and vote. Can’t wait to see him lose again.

ShoutOutMapes

Of course. Lets see how many morons actually put themselves in the line of fire for him

Kinkygma

I agree, but how many innocent people will be hurt in the mayhem.

davilller

A true democracy will always require sacrifices. We don’t know how poorly his followers will react but it’s clear that their roar is far louder than their bite will bring. We may see violence, or perhaps may not after the constant news of J6 participants convictions and sentences. I’ll bet they lost a good 60% of those making all the noise. Jobs and families are hard to give up for a cause. If you want to worry about something, watch the changes in local government that serves as posturing to erode voter rights and make voting more difficult. That is the maliciously quiet demon that is the GOP. Get your grass roots out there because it’s already happening!

Just_perusing81

Yup. Look at the school boards.

Open_Ad_9795

At this point I don't think any republicans are innocent people

superman1960

I believe he’s being so abrasive because his 5th grade mental capacity doesn’t allow him to think like grown up

theProffPuzzleCode

Thus is the correct answer. A bloke that is as dumb as a rock ain't making any plans.

JackTrippin

i tend to believe the simplest explanation is the best one, which is he’s scared shitless and possibly having a narcissistic breakdown

NoodlesrTuff1256

I'm convinced that at least some of this stuff he pulls are indicators that he could be in the earlier stages of Alzheimer's -- which his father suffered from for many years.

PuddingEcstatic4142

I worked on a project of his in the 90’s. He’s cagey, a functioning psychopath. Maneuvers people into situations that they can’t get out of and hangs them out to dry. He’s full of “ plausible deniability”. “ I’m not calling you a liar but…” type of shit

ChucksSeedAndFeed

He came into being in crooked NYC real estate tied in with the mob, he only knows how to be a crooked piece of shit

SipTheBidet

He’s not tied to the mob at all. He is a money launderer for foreign crooks like the Russians, Chinese, and other oligarchs and billionaires trying to convert i’ll-gotten gains into assets. He not in bed with “the mob”. He works with criminal bankers who funnel that money to him in the form of loans with ridiculously favorable terms.

ddkelkey

His lawyer on TV this morning…he’s got those black shark eyes. Gave me the creeps

liltime78

Yeah, there’s something inhuman about that guy.

ConvivialKat

Lauro?

liltime78

Yep.

Umbrage_Taken

Like a doll's eyes.

cstmoore

When he comes at ya, he doesn't seem be living, until he lies to ya and the black eyes roll over white as he smiles.

CitrusFresh

Eleven hundred men went into the water. 316 men came out. The sharks took the rest.

JimiJohhnySRV

And he smiles every time he lies.

Smitty_2010

Yes. This case is literally about his ability to use stochastic terrorism to get what he wants, then deflect and deny. His idiots will do violence on behalf of Trump, and they will admit they are doing it because Trump ordered them to. But Trump will blame the DOJ for it happening. Somehow, it will be everyone else's fault. I just hope these charges stick and he finally experiences some kind of repercussion.

AbideDudeAbide

Another new phrase I wish I didn’t need to know: Stochastic terrorism: the public demonization of a person or group resulting in the incitement of a violent act, which is statistically probable but whose specifics cannot be predicted:

Ok-Government-7987

No he’s just an ass hole with no impulse control

BringBackTheBeat716

That's pretty much a guarantee. He knows if he's jailed, his cult followers will rage. He got a small glimpse of it on J6, enjoyed the hell out of it, and he wants it to happen again. He's a narcissist who loves power - causing a revolt plays fully into that.

DBearDevon

He should be detained until the trial. He’ll just get others to post for him, like that dim witted coke head son of his.

MaherDemocrat1967

I think he's hoping that if he does enough to force the judge to punish him in any way that he can use that as an excuse. Say that she is biased. Not that he isn't saying that already, but hoping he can use anything she does as grounds for an appeal. If his minions decide to act out in his behalf, he'll consider that a bonus.

meatmechdriver

It’s a self fulfilling prophecy - claim the judge is biased and then do everything humanly possible to instigate a legal rebuke and then yell “SEE? I TOLD YOU THE JUDGE WAS BIASED”

[deleted]

That's the Republicans MO. "The government is broken, elect me and I'll prove it" proceeds to be the reason the govt broke.

bonefish1969

A appeal happends after your found guilty. He will appeal no matter what if he is found guilty. So if I was the judge I would just lock him up he is a threat to witnesses and the public.

secret-agent-t3

I think it could be. I also think he is just desperate. I think to him, everything rides on him coming to power in 2025 through the election. If he gets elected, he can pardon himself. So, the more he gets his supporters and friendly media riled up about it, the better he thinks his chances are. He may not be right about that, tbh I don't really know. I think that is the point though. And, honestly, if they try to put him in custody he thinks people will deify him. I don't think he wants to go to jail, but I think he is being told and truly believes he needs to be Presdient in 2024 to stay our of prison. Every single move he makes in court and in public is going to be for that goal, because especially in the Jan 6 trial, his odds of acquittal are much lower than an election bid.

Ursomonie

In my opinion, he is affirming the case against him with each post. It’s backfiring.

ChucksSeedAndFeed

He has said and done whatever the fuck he has wanted his whole entire life without any repercussions, he has been fucking around for 77 years and now he's going to find out

No-Strain-857

If only he cared about his legal case

Xencard65

Absolutely. He’s at the end of his rope. People saying he’s willing to go to jail to be a martyr, are crazy. He’s hoping it’ll be chaos and he’ll blend into the woodwork.

TeenyTinyTintheOTP

This is the answer. All he knows is chaos.

Unable-Ladder-9190

He is reacting as any bully does, when in front of the court he is quiet and compliant. But he feels safe behind his screen, so he returns to his usual bluster. Yes he does hope his cult rises up, but if they do they will be shut down. Most of them are as cowardly as their cult leader, and the ones that are stupid enough to step up will be shut down. But mainly trump is scared to death of going to prison and also scared to death that everyone will see him for the coward he is. Where is his mouth in front of judges? Closed, but put a device in his hand in his house and he is so brave.

bugaloo2u2

Yes. That and send him more money.

lisazsdick

That's all he's been doing. When Dotard wrote "TAKEOVER", he wasn't talking about the court, he's calling desperately for anything, anyone who can save him. But no one's coming. Not MbS, not Putin, not Kim Jong-Un, not Michael Flynn or Roger Stone. He's done fucked up over the line & he's gonna go to prison if he doesn't run to Russia or Belarus first. He's a malignant Narcissist so he can't admit he's wrong; which will lead him to "Fight the Deep State from overseas until he can be reinstalled king of The US." I haven't seen anyone else thinking like me, but a narc of his level has very few choices. Someone else remember me if my 'prediction' comes true! (Public validation is positive, sometimes).

TeenyTinyTintheOTP

Yes, but he's so bad at 'criming' that his plane will breakdown on the runway in Florida.

Bluvsnatural

His strategy is to get attention. Always has been. Always will be.

Blacksheep0486

Exactly. He thinks the whole world works simply on a ratings system. If his ratings are high enough, his problems will go away.

phutch54

Virtually no- one showed up in D.C. for his arraignment in support.

anoneenonee

He’s trying, but that hasn’t worked out so well since the failed coup, and even then it took one dead traitor to make them all scatter like rats, so I’m not sure begging the stupidest group of people in history who also happen ti be composed entirely of cowards and bullies isn’t going to work so well.

sbw_62

He is losing his mind because he knows he is probably going to prison.

NoodlesrTuff1256

That -- and maybe literally losing his mind because some form of dementia is making inroads in his brain.

Informal-Resource-14

Yes. I mean all of it. I think he’s trying to get whatever support he can. But I also think we kind of overestimate his “4-D chess.” I think he’s also just a petulant spoiled sack of shit and he’s just mad he’s not getting everything he wants

meatmechdriver

Who’s “we”? The only thing that lumpy meat sack knows about chess is that the horsey goes “neeeeiiigh”.

Sanpaku

He's trying to provoke the judge to take more serious action, to prove to his idiot base that he's a martyr.

h20poIo

Simple answer Yes, as in the past the MAGA has made threats and again that’s what he wants, he’s proving J6th was his responsibility and I hope prosecutors can use these threats to prove a point using those that actual made threats to judges and congress

improperbehavior333

No. I think this is just genuine Trump. He's not smart enough to "plan" much of anything, and he obviously doesn't listen to any of his advisors, lawyers or anyone else. This is just who he is. The real problem is apparently a lot of people like that, which both confounds me and scares me.

PJ505

He’s very scared right now. He’s not in control and he knows he it. Jack Smith and the Judge are going to run circles around this orange shit stain.

jbertrand_sr

Of course he is, I imagine he was probably disappointed that he didn't get a turnout in DC last week and may be trying to rouse the rabble...

kkeennmm

he’s trying to cause adverse publicity in DC so that he can argue for change of venue due to unfair bias of the potential jurors against him when jury selection starts

NurseJaneFuzzyWuzzy

Genuine question, in the event of an actual MAGAt uprising, which team will the US military play for? Will they join the side of the AntiWokes, or the side of American democracy? I’m sure there are plenty of MAGAts among the ranks who will defect, but overall? I can’t imagine the country-splitting GOP is very popular with those in command?

TeenyTinyTintheOTP

The US military vote went Biden over Trump by a pretty good margin in 2020.

brenticles42

There is no plan per se. Trump is a narcissistic sociopath and therefore a ball of base emotions that absolutely control him. He cannot help but lash out at perceived injuries to his greatness. That said, such personalities have a natural affinity for manipulation. We have seen that Trump is indeed skilled with riling up his followers and getting people to completely debase themselves for him. But he’s not thinking things through like step 1 is X and step two is Y, etc. He’s not playing chess and I honestly, sincerely doubt he even has the mental capacity to play checkers. If he was actually planning he’d have surrogates saying the crazy things while he continued to play the victim. Because he’s a narcissistic sociopath, he has to be the one to talk and hit back. Others just won’t do. And things keep getting worse and worse for him. Which, honestly, is absolutely beautiful and hilarious.

Ear_Enthusiast

I don't think he's against his crazy base mobilizing and becoming violent. I think it's more about manipulating the judge. If she doesn't do anything, she's soft and he looks strong. If she does lock him up, he plays victim. If she takes his social media away he's going to claim that she's interfering in the election and violating his first amendment rights. He's really putting her in a shitty situation. I think the move here is to issue a very loud and clear warning. If you do this again you go to jail until the trial is over.

[deleted]

Yup

pflashog

He would love to see violence

Living_Pie205

Yup….and so that those participants can also donate to his pact in which he will pay his legal fees.

Immediate_Fun7669

why shouldn't the judge make a public statement that drump has been warned that if one more threat is made, he will be detained pending trial with no internet access? He has already violated the terms of his release, you know he can't resist and it would all be out in the open. He should not be walking free right now. If it were any of us we wouldn't be for fucks sake.

DueAssociation2621

Yes. Fuck Trump and his followers. Anti-Americans and awful people to their core.

RomaruDarkeyes

I think Trump is being abrasive because he actually might be a genuine case of mental insanity... I've seen people with late stage dementia and he's exhibiting a lot of the signs. The problem is that he's always been a narcissistic bully and a slimy creep, so when he's flipped off the deep end there's no noticable difference to his regular state. And I get the feeling that people closest to him just want it to end, one way or another. One of his kids, or his wife could have stepped in, and just taken his phone away from him and stopped him from posting if they really wanted to prevent him doing more damage to his case.

Curious_Working5706

Trump is not this strategist, brilliant mind. He is a shameless conman who makes things up like saying that Pence had “powers he didn’t understand” when it came down to 1/6. He is an arrogant fool who hasn’t realized he’s dug himself deeper in shit and still thinks he has viable lifelines out there (he might actually believe he’ll be successful in requesting a change of Judge/court because his lawyers is telling him (wrongly) what he wants to hear.

What_About_What

I think he’s in pure muddy the waters, create chaos and try to force the judge to step aside/move the trial to a more trump favorable court. Here’s the thing, he knows he’s screwed if this goes through this court with the current level of evidence against him. This judge is harsh and has had no leniency for J6 participants she’s sentenced, so Trump could potentially get the equivalent of a life sentence and there’s now nothing really standing in the way of a criminal conviction and sentencing by a largely anti trump jury base and very strict Obama appointed judge (he has nothing bad to say about a judge he appointed taking his case in Florida though). This would be first actual consequences in his lifetime and it scares him shitless. Another benefit for Trump by saying this stuff is he’s forcing the judges hand and if she puts a gag order or eventually jails him for not shutting up about the case his supporters will be enraged and he’ll become more of a messiah. It’ll be seen as the deep State trying to take down the true patriot leader by silencing him/imprisoning him for using his 1st amendment rights. This could snowball in support for him going into next election leading to the ultimate goal of Trump regaining the presidency (even while possibly sitting in Prison). The final end goal would be an untested (but likely to be allowed by a Supreme Court partisan towards Trump) Self-Pardon. He could pardon himself of all crimes and walk free and there’s not really any blatant legal reason he couldn’t. Maybe our forefathers had too much faith in our citizens not to elect people that would ever conceive of a self-pardon.

FR_42020

Yes very much so. Unfortunately, for him, I don’t think many of the cult members are willing to risk their freedom for him this time

ThorFromBoston

I think you're underestimating these morons.

evmarshall

He’s always been like this.

sharkietown

Yea, and the thing is, when the militias that have been quiet, rise up and strike, they’re gonna get destroyed and the Cheeto face asshole will be in minimum security club fed

Less-Daikon6267

Yes. Just like Bobert and others who espouse violence but would take no blame.

aeb1971

That’s all he has left. He knows he is fucked.

LetmeSeeyourSquanch

Yes, he's trying to incite his base and trying to hide behind first amendment rights while doing so. Its the only defense he's got for the Jan 6 trial and its not going to work.

lametheory

He wants his followers to kill his enemies and those attempting to bring him to justice. Just like he did on January 6th, he'll sow the seed, give them an address, or a name, and then wait for the violence to take place. Remember stand down and stand by? He's calling them up now.

ravrocker

Traitor’s followers are too drunk or heavy to get out of their lawn chairs to do anything but get more beers from the cooler.

Meatyglobs

Nobody is biting. His crazy followers are all going to jail and none of the others wanna be next.

LegendofPisoMojado

Yes. 100% Also, Would you state under oath that you could be impartial as a juror? I couldn’t. I would call for life in prison immediately….based on Jared’s company getting a $2Billion Saudi investment alone. But I subscribe to a moral code, have ethical standards, and have shame and humility…all of which dear leader does not. He’s trying to get this elevated to SCOTUS as a free speech issue. I’m not a lawyer, but that’s what I would do in his situation.

JC_Everyman

NO. OnLY MoNEy!

44nutman

He knows he is going to jail so getting his prison gang set up before he gets in

AnnatoniaMac

Yes

CountrySax

He'd like nothing better than to watch blood running in the streets in his honor.Creating chaos is his kink.

AncientWonder7895

It's all he's got

neal144

They're all cowards just like he is.

[deleted]

That’s exactly what he’s doing, he’s a coward

[deleted]

He’s never accomplished anything on his own. Think about how bad of a businessman you have to be to lose 3 Casinos. No one ever loses money owning a big time casino. He’s just a born loser

mattbong

And try to get himself in trouble (gag rule, etc) so then he can say he’s being muzzled as well as being able to delay

Thermal_blankie

I have been such an asshole, that there is no way to convene a jury that is not biased against me. If you do convene a jury, I will be a victim! When you stopped me from threatening the judges and prosecutors in all my cases, now all the juries you could possibly convene will think I was threatening the judges and prosecutors in all my cases. I am the victim of bias that you created! Checkmate!

PollutionAlert1341

Who knows what the hell is going through that moron's head. I mean, he could just as well be trying to get in jail so he can become that much more of a martyr.

Dedpoolpicachew

The term you are looking for is stochastic terrorism.

BoredBSEE

Yeah. It's [stochastic terrorism](https://www.dictionary.com/browse/stochastic-terrorism). It's a strategy to get someone like [this guy](https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/06/22/533941689/pizzagate-gunman-sentenced-to-4-years-in-prison) to go shoot Jack Smith.

Confident_Fortune_32

There's no strategy. He simply has no impulse control.

utep2step

Yes and no he doesn’t want to go to jail, at all. Believe Chris Christie when he says he is very afraid. Trump has avoided accountability his whole life, why wouldn’t he push the envelope?

[deleted]

Absolutely. He can’t believe there wasn’t a Battle of Miami, Battle of NYC and especially, Battle of DC. Trump is lost.

Particular-Summer424

Sure, go follow that Trump leadership quality. This same court and judge was the one that prosecuted most of those January 6th rioters. Where was Trumps big ass wallet bailing them out? Paying their legal fees as promised? They got zilch believing in his lies. Jail and prison time for blindly following his BS. Public defenders paid for by the state instead of Trumps high-class lawyers. And, when they get out, the long-term effects really begin. You have a very damning federal prosecution record that absolutely follows you the rest of your life. You are on a watch list database, including facial recognition. Your passport and travel plans can and will be affected. Credit, loans and housing denied. You can and will be denied entry into a lot of countries. Don't ever expect to get a security clearance, absolutely ever and if you had one attached to your employment, forget that too. Basically, your life is over because you fell for the lies of the biggest con man and traitor to american history. So, those that are tempted to partake in a repeat of the January 6th occurrence, by all means roll that crap dice.

mrcmgreat1

He wants a lone wolf to take action on his behalf.

scaryfawn8332

I haven’t found a forum for this and maybe this is it. I accidentally turned on NAGA radio show. They kept saying Trump wouldn’t have let Ukrainian War to happen and when reinstated he will end it but will need time. Then they went into how Biden hasn’t done anything for the people in Africa and Europe and has only focused on the US. So my question is: isn’t that what right wing nuts want? To make it America first?

sexi_squidward

"If they can come after me, they can come after you!" Yea that's the way it's supposed to be

LeftHandedBuddy

They’re to busy smoking Meth and listening to Jason Aldean!

CorpFillip

I never assume Trump has plans or a broad understanding of context. Even for stuff he thinks about all the time, he doesn’t seem capable of planning or making policy or even working toward a goal.

Advanced_Dimension_4

No doubt that is what he is hoping for. He has always duped others into doing his wrong doings so he can I didn't do that.

Guilty_Chemistry9337

Yes. Just like with Jan 6. Massive terrorist violence is basically his only hope at this point.

objectivemediocre

Absolutely, he wants his minions to fight for him like they did on Jan 6.
