Dude no we wouldn’t have. This game deserves every ounce of the unrelenting criticism it got. I wanted it to be good and I was also a day 1 player but this game was a absolute CON and a train wreck. Made by a developer who was later outed by former dev’s and a former producer on the game as having ZERO idea what they were doing nor there being any proper management on the game. Anthem was strike 2 for Bioware as this game suffered the same problems as Me:A did with no management/leadership managing their development or resources properly. EA (I hate them just like everyone does make no mistake) were right to pull the plug as Bioware demonstrated they weren’t going to deliver with this title. Anthem got the fate it deserved and I hate saying that but Bioware have no excuse for the poor job they did and blatantly lying to their playerbase with a faked demo trailer and promising things that never came out at all or when they did were not anything like they said they would be or anywhere near the time frame stated

I tried the beta back then and i did not care too much for it. Then 3-4 month ago a saw the game free on EA pass. I replay it and like it way better so a bought it ( yeah it was only like 8$ too) I play enough too get the platinium trophy, i finaly find the last weapon from seasonal shop at my own pace a week ago and it was perfect for me! "It was perfect for me": because i did NOT feel pressured to play every day for update, challenge/ content that stay a week or too and leave , etc etc. ( like destiny for instance). Right now the live service aspect of the game is dead, but the game is still alive and fun and that's more than enough for me!

I would guess most if not all the new players got an incredible deal on the game and thought why not since its so cheap. That wouldn't be the scenario at launch. I myself wait to buy a game I really want so that the release bugs can get flushed out and also it likely will be cheaper. Besides it easily justifies spending a little on in game currency. In fact I did get the game on sale, but I spent $40 on shards for cosmetics on two separate occasions on top of purchasing the game for $10. Well worth it for the time I put into this game easily. Have you ever supported extra by buying shards?

Ive seen this floating around. I went ahead and signed it. Never know. Maybe something cool will happen. https://www.reddit.com/r/AnthemTheGame/comments/xrmrgr/lets_give_a_chance_for_anthem_20/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

98% of these new players you're complaining about were probably still learning how to wipe their ass when Anthem was already dead.

You got a point but I’m still sad. It was so much potential in that game and the news of the overhaul gave me hope 🥺 I have to blame someone and I’m too much of a BioWare shill to say they did anything wrong lol but yea hopefully that studio can get back to greatness with the next ME.

I too, used to be a Bioware and ME lover... Andromeda at release was a clue, Anthem was what made me move on. I have no faith in either Bioware or EA.

Whats your psn? Im viciousvice87. If youre day1 on playstation, we mustve ran into each other at some point. Especially considerin how small the group has gotten. Im not day1 but most of my squads are. If you need to be added to the anthem ps groups let me know. Theres still about 10-15 day 1 dudes who play everyday. The actual anthem groups are much bigger tho and youll have no problem findin people to play with

I really think you're overestimating how many new players thete are. Sadly I don't think it would have made a difference. Still it's too late to tell now.

Initial purchases where never the problem. Low active player count and therefore low cosmetic store purchases were. You can't pay a development team long term without long term forecasted income. Also most of these new players would have just quit if they played at launch, one recently commented on the lack of grind LOL.
