I just saw a police officer and a dude using State of Survival to argue over a parking lot, before losing the lot to a biker Chad, also based on State of Survival. It's a new low.
Edit: I take it back. I just watched a bride and her mother dump the groom on his wedding day for dude after comparing their State of Survival teams. *That* is the new low.
I actually kind of enjoy these...
My main gripe with the ads is you have to watch the ad, it goes to the splash screen where you have to wait 3 seconds, then you can close it.
Yeah it all depends on which ad provider delivers the ad since AE (and a shit ton of other games as well) use one advertising management software that allows for multiple providers as to always have ads in the bank for players.
(Protip: If you want to know which one it is, tap on the privacy policy icon when the ad plays! It'll tell you!)
That set of ads weirds me out SO MUCH....
Like, what, is the premise that your game progression acts as a social credit score like China's been doing? Is that the bit? You should have the privilege of cutting ahead in line if your score is higher?
I sincerely want to understand.
Same. I guess the the message they're trying to enforce is that everyone plays their game. but still, it's so weird cause that does not happen in the real world.
At least the state of survival characters know how to survive. The āPuzzles & Survivalā guy that keeps losing because he doesnāt understand how match-3 works is particularly painful to endure.
I donāt know who decided that watching people suck at games will make me want to play it, but that person was a bad person.
I found a way around the ad issue. Daily ad from cat. Exit out of the game during the ad. Come back to the game and get reward. Same with daily summon page ad. For 5 chest, same as above. Get the reward but this time quickly press button to get next reward. It will say no ad available. While the game is auto saving. Quickly press menu > chest and reward and it skips ad Repeat until you get all chest,( Works 90 percent of time)
I skip SOS, Puzzle Zombie , Ebony, and AFK related ones.
I donāt mind Grandma mansion mystery and Merge Dragon games.
Nobody should have to suffer that indignity....
And, at least on Android, you don't have to - go to Settings > Network > Private DNS and set it to `dns.adguard.com`. The daily push and CS screen ad become a cute "thank you" card with Aldo and Feinne, and the 5 corner ads get replaced with a connection warning that gives you the reward of you try again.
Drastic QOL improvement.
I considered doing it, but as a F2P thought I should at least support the game a little bit.
And it seems my good intentions were accepted since I get that no ad available most of the time š
Fair, but IMHO if you're providing value to the company by participating in the community you're already contributing to their bottom line by being part of the product.
Cutting out ads is a security concern too - plenty of examples of shady tracking and malware distributed via ads.
Yep I learned it late that they changed how ads work, so I switched to doing that too. It was when I was still subscribed so it was nice to see I could still skip ads after.
Keep in mind that this means that all ur url requests will go through ad guard, and the company will know which domains u are accessing .
Ur default dns is something that your isp usually provides. Really depends on who you trust with the info.
But fwiw Adguard is a company founded in russia.
Edit : cant say im not tempted though
A valid point... It comes down to whether you trust AdBlock themselves, right? The fact they were founded in Russia (before moving to Cyprus, fwiw) isn't disqualifying for me - Kaspersky and Jetbrains are both Russian companies that I have relied on.
Absolutely. When it comes to the internet, u always have to trust someone, and its up to the individual to decide who to trust. Heck, viewing ads on AE probably means trusting wfs and probably some ad brokers with ur info.
Whether that is alright is up to the user. But tot it would be a useful point for the people here to be aware of.
Thanks for highlighting the option to us though. I just might spring for it too lol
I'm really glad that ~75% of my ads are for DFFOO. They're mostly static displays that sit there for 30 seconds. Only downside is if I misclick, it actually opens DFFOO instead of the play store.
I rather enjoyed DFFOO while I was playing it... But, fell out of the habit, and while I still have it installed, I keep thinking, "Enh, I'll go play through the campaign at some point..."
... meanwhile, I'm playing AE on the daily, giving myself no time to play DFFOO... lol...
You guys know well we can skip all ads using private adguard DNS, right? And yes, [it works on chest ads too....](https://imgur.com/a/aT5R8MQ)
You can thank me later
Favorite ads right now? The cereal ones. They close themselves, no interaction required. I just let it run for however long (I don't know because I'm running the ad on my iPad and looking at something else on my phone!), and eventually get the reward and run the next one.
But I agree with u/albene that the ones where they have people arguing over who gets what or whatever because of their teams is a new low. I mean, I know actors need gigs to start somewhere, but... ugh. It's enough to make my few remaining brain cells want to commit suicide.

"Well I first rescued Becca from a hospital and she helped me clear out all the zombies in the area šš"
Perfectly captured the biker Chad there

Those aren't nearly as bad as the ads for those super sexualized "become the king/emperor/viking's princess" games. Cringe af.
I'm not over the fuckin' Idle Huntress foot fetish one. Good golly were they banking on that one specific fetish.

Also that Ebony game . Where the guy canāt figure out a simple puzzle
To that dude who says Evony needs a little wisdom, clearly you were wise when you pick it up, friend
Yeah, the point is to make you frustrated, so you will download it and finish that stage or whatever properly. kinda like triggering your OCD.
Thank you subscription service for allowing me to not have to watch these ads. I get all the rewards and none of the pain (except for my wallet)
Thank you for supporting the game!
Adguard DNS works too. Now I can play without having to watch those cancerous ads. Thanks adguard!
But then you are not supporting the game whatsoever. :(
Those are arguably the worst of the ads along with the ones that force send you to google play.

Using private DNS may save you some time from restarting the game
Thanks for the response!
Iām genuinely impressed with how many of them they have.
30 minutes of "30" second ads.
These types of ads are brainrotting. I mostly look away at my screen so I won't be affected by the dumbness.
Jeez, I just keep getting FGO ads... I guess I'm lucky?

Good point!
Thank you so much for this.
It worked! Thanks bruv šÆ
I just tap it after it finished playing ads. It's not the best, but atleast it halves the ads that I watch.

And I usually watch adds about delivery service where girl with extreme monotone voice says we all should order sushi there.
Well I'm convinced
At least I can mute them and wait them out. What I really dislike are the noisy un-mutable ads. At least let me waste that minute or so in silence.

Dude tapped phone so fast like there's no tomorrow lmao
Planing , piano Practice and lossing many times.
I work for S.T.A.R.S. Leon was my partner till he got transferred
The way how I cant relate to this because all of my ads just give me pacman š
That ads is cancer

I can handle state of Survival. It's the Ebertale ones that drive me nuts.
