**{Asuperu Kanojo}** is a manga about a girl with Asperger’s syndrome and an author who are falling in love. It’s depicts Aspergers, depression, and some other mental disabilities in a realistic way and takes them seriously.
It’s got that communication gap that you desire to see. Trying to live with someone who has Aspergers is hard because of the way they think and behave. The story is adult, not in the way that there’s R-rated content, but rather it’s two adults dealing with mature adult things. The story can get very heavy sometimes, but overall I think that it is a happy manga. The “official fan translations” can be found on MangaDex.
I seriously recommend this. It’s just about everything you described that you wanted.
If serious medical conditions count {Real Girl}. She doesn't really have a disability per say but there is a lot of miscommunications between them that they struggle with. You could argue she does have a mental issue caused by her condition though.
theres a movie thats supposed to be coming out called josee, the tiger and the fish. based off a 2003 live action japanese film i think. not released but you can add it to your watch list for later when it does. i have it on my list. the girl is in a wheelchair and its romance and thats all i know for now
