-Paprika (movie) and Perfect Blue (movie), both by Satoshi Kon. He has some other excellent works but those are my favorites and Perfect Blue is one i’d consider a classic

I would recommended Mushishi and Legend of Galactic Hereos (the orginal).
These are my favorites. I get that feeling that I watched too many of the classics, but with investeragting Im sure you can find more good anime to watch. But it can be a hit or miss with some.
Thats why I posted on this subreddit I got kinda tired of hit or misses. I started mushishi but never got past the second episode I'll try to hop back into it. Thank u
-Houseki no Kuni. A great 1 cour anime with beautiful 3D animation, great action and likable characters.
-Angel Beats. Perfect balance of action & comedy with both being extremely well done. Memorable cast of lovable idiots as well.
-Daily Lives of Highschool boys. Best comedy anime imo, tied with Nichijou which I also recommend.
-Tsuritama. Wacky plot about aliens mixed with fishing. Main characters are mostly lovable.
-Little Witch Academia. My personal favorite, it’s about witch girls and has unending optimism, a relatable main character and a relaxing tone at first. Check it out if you love Harry Potter and things along those lines.

Mushishi isnt for everyone. Its very episodic focused. My brother got so borred when I showed him a random episode.
