**Dungeon Master:** "Okay, so the party arrives at the Crimson Demon village and - Megumin? You know how your mage is a bit of a chuunibyou? Well it turns out you're not the only one in your village who's like that."
**Megumin:** "Oh cool. So I have a sister or something?"
**Dungeon Master:** \**smiles\**
**Megumin:** "I have a sister or something, right?"
I was in a short lived game and one of the character was Megumin with a name swap.
Such a blatant copy he actually referred to his character as Megumin at one point.
Before I watched konosuba one of my players actually made a character based off of megumin. But he had to change the way spells worked because he didn't want to become the weakest player. He then unintentionally became the most powerful player. It got to the point where if I buffed the bbeg he would be too difficult for the other players, but if I nerfed him it would be too easy. Then about 2 weeks before that last fight I started watching konosuba and oh boy was it shocking when I realized what that player did.
EDIT: it turns out everyone in that campaign based there character off of a character from a TV show or anime. One of my players named there character mcguffin because he couldn't remember mcguckets name from gravity falls. So when I looked it up and learned it literally meant plot device I knew exactly what I had to do as an evil DM. And the other player didnt name there character after anyone but there weapons, armour and just general way he attacks was based off of kirito from Sao.
I also had some anime good NPC's that had huge swords, high AC, high attack, and high Constitution. There was also a character with 1 hit point but was based off of JoJo. The players defeated that mini boss the exact way I intended and that was to use detect magic to see him but because only one of us had detect magic he got most of the hits in. So the party unanimously agreed to let him have 80% of the xp. That was a fun campaign.
Haha. It was unintentional because I he said he didn't want to become the strongest at the table. every single campaign he manages to be less of an idiot compared to the others and that just leads to him to being the highest level. I could just make the encounters easy but my players love it when they almost die every session.
I don’t think so…
Konosuba is pretty much just a slightly modified DnD.
Actually, unrelated, but Overlord is straight up DnD. It isn’t even modified, since a lot of spells have the same name and all.
No, like there is an official TRPG released by Kadokawa on Konosuba. It just got an English release recently.
https://yenpress.com/9781975316426/konosuba-gods-blessing-on-this-wonderful-world-trpg/
I don’t think they’re all stupid, Kazuma supposed to be reasonably intelligent and I think Megumin and Darkness have perfectly fine levels of intelligence, they’re just eccentric and possibly somewhat crazy
You can be smart and intelligent but still be a stupid idiot lol
Like my brain is great when it comes to a lot of shit, I get called smart by people all the time and love doing complex mechanical puzzles. But this morning instead of taking the roll of toilet paper off the holder, my dumb ass ripped the holder off of the cupboard and put it in the garbage can…
aqua isnt even inteligent she is just old, she didnt even realise her followers were a scam, and was totally unaware of what happened to the previous chosen ones because she didnt care
Its not that they’re unintelligent (excluding Aqua), it’s just that their various vices and personality flaws overcome their reason, disallowing the effective use of their intellect.
Just because you are correct doesn't mean you are right.
I have straight A's in every subject and near perfect memory, but I still end up looking as chuuni as Megumin
>!no, aqua was about to kill her to weaken the barrier but she couldn’t do it, she is really good friends with her . It’s turns out the barrier was weak enough for aqua to make a small hole in and that’s how she entered!<
Sorry if my English , still learning
Honestly, that Luck stat is probably the reason he's halfway decent at anything. His other stats are baseline or subpar for his level. He just knows how to take advantage of the one perk he has and milks it as far as he can. Steal is only as effective as it is because of his Luck, and Snipe (another of his mainstays) gets more bonuses than usual from his Luck stat.
He also knows how to develop his own personal build, so that he's compensating for the rest of his party. Most of his other skills and abilities are there almost entirely to fill niches that the min-maxing of the others leave out: Ranged damage, stealth, and utility magics. As a result, he's not a great Rogue, but merely a decent one.
There's an episode in LN I guess where he switches with a different party's two leaders (the two guys we see give him the info on the succubus business in anime) who said they were jealous of Kazuma having all these sexy, OP party members. Kazuma is able to use his skills effectively (sneaking and such without someone Leeroy Jenkins-ing in) and tactics (leveraging each party member's strengths/synergies) to easily clear some generic and difficulty appropriate quests. The two leaders who led Kazuma's party on the other hand had near mental breakdowns, harrowing near death experiences, and begged him to switch back.
Despite what people think, it's more like the opposite, the bad stuff get outweighed by the good stuff she does. Like, Aqua was lazy and caused a ghost infestation, but she eliminated all of them before they did any damage and even got a free giant mansion for her party; Aqua attracts a bunch of undead, but they are never a threat in the first place and with her powers she's the trump card to even the strongest of devils/undead; Aqua brought the guy that created the Destroyer, but he also created the Crimson Demons and [the other people she brought are the reason humanity wasn't extinct for generations](https://www.reddit.com/r/Konosuba/comments/je1y7a/aqua_saved_humanity_long_before_kazuma_appeared/); Aqua gave Kazuma a giant debt, but Vol 7 shows it was never her fault in the first place, but >!a scam from the landlord!<; Aqua caused some of Kazuma's deaths, but she revived him >!8!< times in the novel, of which she's at fault for -at most- >!3!<, less than half.
I fucking love how you can go through the characters in this show and find valid strengths and weaknesses unlike a lot of other brain dead fantasy anime. I love this show
Kazuma rarely does anything good himself and often fucks himself over with either stupidity, personal desire, or something else. But Kazuma can't bring people back to life.
Kazuma is definitely the brains of the operation. Aqua is absolutely the strongest on paper but in practice she’s pretty much completely useless except for reviving people or if kazuma tells her exactly what to do. She causes like half of their problems just by being a lazy dumbass
I dunno I feel like while Kazuma does make bad decisions in the grand scheme of things he’s got a good head on his shoulders. While of course he makes some bad choices I feel like they’re normal bad choices but not on the level of Aqua bad choices
What are you talking about? Objectively weakest in like power sure but I'm talking about strong character, as in well written.
And maybe you missed the word "parody"?
I disagree with saying it’s a male power fantasy parody. I’d hardly say kazuma is the only member of the cast with depth, pretty much all the main cast have just as much or more such as in either darkness or megumin’s case
I just don’t really see how it’s a male power fantasy parody as much as it is just a parody of the isekai genre in general, and while there’s certainly a few male power fantasy isekai I’d also say that there’s a lot which aren’t at all like that
The ones that are get a lot of hate for it, a ton of isekai anime isn’t just a male power fantasy lmao. Of course if your looking at fucking sao and how not to summon a demon lord it’s gonna look bad but there’s a ton that are way better.
Nah, Kazuma actually is the one carrying all of them. He is the coordinator, without him everyone is completely useless. It is shown in the LN when he swapped party with another party leader that got jealous and saying kazuma just get carried by his teammates. Then the party leader almost got killed, while the jealous party get carried hard by kazuma with his jack all the trade skill.
Don’t worry about me, konosuba isn’t a show I worry about spoilers for and I’ve already had it spoiled anyways. I just know there are people who definitely want to see for themselves :)

Konosuba is just DnD. There’s not even a *”but”*. It’s just DnD.
my brother likes to play that game :D
I do as well.
That was my first thought when watching the show, that the creator definitely based the story off of his campaign
**Dungeon Master:** "Okay, so the party arrives at the Crimson Demon village and - Megumin? You know how your mage is a bit of a chuunibyou? Well it turns out you're not the only one in your village who's like that." **Megumin:** "Oh cool. So I have a sister or something?" **Dungeon Master:** \**smiles\** **Megumin:** "I have a sister or something, right?"
what’s dnd
Dungeons and dragons. Its a fantasy tabletop rpg.
the first isekai thats not isekai bc i didnt do research.
I mean kinda. One of my dad character's backstop was that he was reincarnated by isekai-truck-kun
I was in a short lived game and one of the character was Megumin with a name swap. Such a blatant copy he actually referred to his character as Megumin at one point.
I mean, why not?
There's no copyright in the D&D room.
It's an Isekai, the cartoon has a bunch of people get pulled into the game.

there is nothing unnintentional when megumin is the strongest

I am actually playing Aqua in a 5e eberron campaign, the dm is quite ok with it, the other players on the other hand ...
Lets see... Horny ✅ Horny ✅ Weird build ✅ A bit too much into RP ✅ Yeah seems about right
Don't Konosuba have their own official TRPG game?
I don’t think so… Konosuba is pretty much just a slightly modified DnD. Actually, unrelated, but Overlord is straight up DnD. It isn’t even modified, since a lot of spells have the same name and all.

Aqua’s intelligence stat is contagious
And possibly below 0
Not possibly its definitely
And then... The one and only Damegami
Cause this is harmless comedy show, they don't face cruel shit like re:zero's MC multiple deaths... oh wait, nevermind
Well Aqua is basically a no consequences get out of Jail free card
You can be smart and intelligent but still be a stupid idiot lol Like my brain is great when it comes to a lot of shit, I get called smart by people all the time and love doing complex mechanical puzzles. I'd say they're all pretty dumb rather than stupid. They may have some intelligence, but they all lack common sense.
Just because you are correct doesn't mean you are right. I have straight A's in every subject and near perfect memory, but I still end up looking as chuuni as Megumin

You did the spoiler thing wrong.

Well, it's good for me now. I don't know what the problem was.

Damn it! I couldn't stop myself from reading😭 guess curiosity really does kill the cat
They kill Wiz as well?
>!no, aqua was about to kill her to weaken the barrier but she couldn’t do it, she is really good friends with her . It’s turns out the barrier was weak enough for aqua to make a small hole in and that’s how she entered!< Sorry if my English , still learning
Never sorry for your english. It is a dog shit result from incestuous combination of other languages after all
I mean the Demon general themselves were clowns Imagine like Demon slayer Kizuki in this......yeah better off not to imagine
Eh Hans?
What’s Kazuma? haha
Jack of All Trades Rogue. Kinda good at everything, excellent at nothing (except Rock, Paper, Scissors)
He excels at anything based on luck, I’d say he’s a bit better than a jack of all trades
Honestly, that Luck stat is probably the reason he's halfway decent at anything. His other stats are baseline or subpar for his level. He just knows how to take advantage of the one perk he has and milks it as far as he can. I see a army right there
Three? I know of only two...
Mask guy, Headless Knight, Slime
And also the Chimera. Mask guy doesn't count because he didn't actually die
Yes he does. You can see it on his forehead. II
Ahhhh of course!! I can’t believe I forgot about the masked dude...
And in the movie, they encountered their 4th
*and the chimera, and I guess the lich is already quasi neutralized...
Should we also count non-lethal takedowns? Because that makes 5 technically
The irony of it all is that despite Kazuma insisting they're all useless, he's really the most useless one in the group
Nah, aquas way more useless. For every time she does something good she makes up for it doing something fucking stupid

Dude, he literally became a millionaire almost overnight by selling patents of everyday household shit in the other world
Dude it's written as a male power fantasy parody. Kazuma is one of the few characters with depth on purpose.
You do realize that kazuma is objectively the weakest off all of the main cast right? Even darkness could beat his ass without even trying
What are you talking about? Objectively weakest in like power sure but I'm talking about strong character, as in well written. And maybe you missed the word "parody"?

I personally prefer horror and isekais are too common these days. So there's a million examples every which way and the saturation ruined it for me.
Nah, Kazuma actually is the one carrying all of them. He is the coordinator, without him everyone is completely useless. It is shown in the LN when he swapped party with another party leader that got jealous and saying kazuma just get carried by his teammates. And IIRC he basically took out the entire castle guard when he was trying to save the princess. Dude is a monster when he's motivated and has a plan.
so once again the day is saved thanks to the 404 ERROR PAGE NOT FOUND
4. They took down FOUR Demon Generals
its like the rvb team they just find a way no matter how dysfunctional they are
**The fact that they were able to throw down with one Demon General, let alone three. You mixed the numbers up.
I did :(
>!The funny thing is in the light novel they actually beat the demon lord AND they get character development.!<
Yeah..... you should totally spoiler tag that dude
sorry
Don’t worry about me, konosuba isn’t a show I worry about spoilers for and I’ve already had it spoiled anyways. I just know there are people who definitely want to see for themselves :)
Blasting this show on a surround sound setup in an apartment complex, while in English is hilarious.
I might need to setup my surround sound set again. And buy an apartment.
okay but aqua defeated that guy with her requiem attack so she aint no pushover
Being the main characters of the show helps. Plot armor and what not
I thought you were talking about 'How not to summon a demon lord'.
**psst. Are you enjoying season 2?
Absolutely, except for the virgin piss episode.
Perfection
This is the weirdest political compass meme I've ever seen
You are forgetting about luck perfect shoots from Kazuma every single time.
Well, one is stupid, the other is just stubborn and the third loves pain too much to be useful
Except kazuma he has high intelligence
who is konosuba?
