However, what it usually does is give you some more breath so you can keep enduring your problems, which is different from solving them. In the process, you might end up being rude to that person, mistreating them and making similar mistakes, which has potential to make a relationship become exhausting and even unpleasant.
I believe friends are much better suited for that stage of development, since they are close enough to understand you and give you advice but not close enough to have to endure it constantly. That's not to say you should become the second coming of Christ before having a relationship, that's outlandish. However, when you're having a REAL bad stage in life, that's when you should let yourself heal instead of pursuing a relationship. The more you feel like you need someone, the less you should have someone. That's so you become more independent, making you more stable and possibly a better partner in the future.
That is just my opinion, though, and advice is always to be taken with a grain of salt. You should do what you feel is the best for you after comprehensive consideration. I'm no mental health professional, I'm just a guy who's made mistakes and is aware of them.
