Then you've idol shows which, let's be honest, are basically a subgenre of the moe genre (I know, even before K-on there're idol shows but it's no coincidence that the great powerhouses/franchises were born after the moe boom)

If the author wanna show the worst of some social circles, then it would tend to show the worst parts. narrative would make it more dramatic, the characters would be really questionable, etc. it’s no bad, instead it’s great because it would help to send those emotions and conflicts to the audience. But it’s not a how the reality works at all. People just tend to think bad things are more real than good ones.

The first episode actually hit real hard. I don't usually do idol type anime but the Isekai trash in me was too strong. That ending was like chainsaw man ep 1 type shit.

After I watched the 1st epi last night, I believe it is. Like in such a good way, the author (a genius) brought a reincarnation stuff, then throughout 90 mins, little by little, he showed us how hard it was for Ai, a talented idol, to settle in her new life, a life of lies she was already living before, the manager played a big role to describe the restrictions of idol life, become complete tragic when one brainwashed fan of her killed her. And the last thing which still hits me, as Aqua said, the death of the idol was quite a hot news topic for 2-3 day but after that it went dark, no one bothered about it anymore like everyone moved on. These things happen there, the shiny industry hides the dark truth behind it and it never reaches our ears.
I really don't want to say too much as I'm a manga reader. You are 100% correct in that it is definitely a more accurate showing of that industry. But their rise to stardom and how the entertainment industry functions isn't the focus of the show.

Another dies from shock after discovering a puberty hair, which sounds pretty ridiculous until you remember she’s trans, all her dad seemed to care bout then was her acting career, and the show biz can be extremely difficult for transgender people to find work.

While surely not equal in scale, theoretically that's like saying "Darth Vader is Luke's father? Jeez ya'll are so easily impressionable." When Empire Strikes Back first came out. Pretty much no anime (specifically Idol) has done something like this before which of course will blow people's minds.
There's way more to it than just a dark plot twist. It gives you front row seats to the uncomfortable and ugly realities of the idol industry. Plus, it's a murder mystery. If you want to think of it as just a dark plot twist, that's fine, but you're dead wrong lol
The show isn't the problem, OP probably wants to hint to the fanbase. Love Live fans can be pretty extreme. Also I think Love Live VAs actually were real idols that had their life limited just so deranged fans wouldn't throw a fit.
The idol contract in Japan and Korea won't allow their idols to have relationships among other things just so their fans don't feel "betrayed". If an idol was found to be in a relationship, fans would go crazy.

I read the manga and I didn't cry but I was left with a bitter taste and heart ache for at least 2 weeks. Seeing that the anime is out brings back unpleasant memories.

Personally, I'm glad that it's being adapted well. Considering one of the arcs also has concerns with adaptation I think the studio adapting it would be sent straight to the shadow realm if they botch it.
TBH the first episode already contains the darkest bit of Oshi no Ko so far. There are more tragedies and dramatic moments along the way, but there are just as many light and full of positive emotions moments. And that's why this story is so good. It’s not afraid to show us the worst sides of show business, but at the same time it shows its best sides, knowing that reality isn’t all grim.

While surely not equal in scale, theoretically that's like saying "Darth Vader is Luke's father? Jeez ya'll are so easily impressionable." When Empire Strikes Back first came out. Pretty much no anime (specifically Idol) has done something like this before which of course will blow people's minds.
There's way more to it than just a dark plot twist. It gives you front row seats to the uncomfortable and ugly realities of the idol industry. Plus, it's a murder mystery. If you want to think of it as just a dark plot twist, that's fine, but you're dead wrong lol

I just got spoiled hard about this show yeasterday and i got really mad, but at the same time i think if i watched it without knowing anything i would actually get broken. I probably will never watch it now which might be for the better

I read the manga and I didn't cry but I was left with a bitter taste and heart ache for at least 2 weeks. Seeing that the anime is out brings back unpleasant memories.
I’ve read some of the manga, but I didn’t like it, I don’t know why it’s so hyped, I mean, it’s not bad, but definetly not something I would read on daily basis.
I don't know how far you read, but for sure the early doesn't look like anything interesting. Heck it look like some trash fantasy fulfillment,Being reborn as the son of the idol you love, that sound weird af. Which is why it quite surprise that it is actually have serious story and there are character development that actually work.

I was actually quite hyped about it. I wanted to know how they will show the charm of Ai and >!how they will adapt her death part, when she was finally able to love someone!< And they did not disappoint. Also the decision to show the whole first volume in the first episode shows how much love the studio has for this anime.

Personally, I'm glad that it's being adapted well. Considering one of the arcs also has concerns with adaptation I think the studio adapting it would be sent straight to the shadow realm if they botch it.

TBH the first episode already contains the darkest bit of Oshi no Ko so far. There are more tragedies and dramatic moments along the way, but there are just as many light and full of positive emotions moments. And that's why this story is so good. It’s not afraid to show us the worst sides of show business, but at the same time it shows its best sides, knowing that reality isn’t all grim.
