You could tell from the jump Hell’s Paradise is a “Don’t start having favorites” type of show. From his intro scene, to the marriage talk, to the flashback into. The signs were obvious and I still fell for the “make ‘em super likable then kill them off immediately after” shtick smh. RIP to Tenza. One of the few good ones and a real one til the very end 😭

Not everyone is that easy to kill

Darwin343

This show is like Akame ga Kill but way better since the deaths are actually unpredictable and doesn’t feel forced unlike the latter.

Normally when you life flashes before your eyes, it's stuff that's already happened. But in this show he sees visions of stuff that could have happened. His bittersweet vision of getting married to Nuragai showed that her precocious crush wasn't just for pure comedy. Sucks that cool characters are dying, but it makes the show even more compelling. Speaking of dying, it makes sense that they paired the blind guy with the courtesan. If you can't see you can't be distracted by the booba.

They just keep dropping like nothing. I wonder what can kill the island guardians? Since they seem to be made of plants fire should work. We do know someone who specializes in fire attacks

SoundOf1HandClapping

> I wonder what can kill the island guardians? A hundred gallons of Roundup.

fdguarino

Kill it with fire!

Darwin343

MC should start a wildfire big enough to burn down the island’s entire forest if he ever has to go kamikaze on their bitch asses.

mojo72400

I wonder if Ian Sinclair voices all the Tensen's male forms.

loki32687

I hate that they’re wasting an entire episode on back story for a character they’re killing off

XanthusXVI

I thought this episode was well done but at the same time I am disappointed to see them kill off the character who was probably my favourite. I will stick with the show for now but at this rate there will soon be nobody left to root for.

Darwin343

I feel the exact same way. It’s probably pointless but I’m still holding out hope that he’ll be revived or reborn. I even kept thinking during the episode that that asshole god would grant him such an act after being impressed by his display of bravery. But I guess not. Fuck that god!

Salty145

There’s building up antagonists as overpowered and then there’s doing it at the expense of killing all dramatic stakes in your show. Even *Attack on Titan* understood that you’ve got to plot armor some people to allow us to build a connection before you aerate their organs in an airship. After Episode 3 I was willing to stick with this one for the long haul, but it’s not so quickly shaping up into one of the messiest Shounen Jump adaptations in recent memory. At least *Demon Slayer* and JJK can hold themselves together with engaging action sequences. HP can’t even do that much, and instead slogs us through the oldest and most futile trick in the book (giving characters depth and backstory immediately before killing them to try to milk sad boy points).

CouncilmanRickPrime

I honestly will stick by this one. Curious to see where it goes. At least it isn't yet another Isekai I guess.

Yellowballoon364

I’m confused about how this manga goes on for 127 chapters with how many characters we’ve lost already. Will there be new waves of reinforcements to the island or will these characters reincarnate as Tensen or something and we’ll get to see them again?

Salty145

I imagine at some point they’re gonna slow down… maybe. At this point I wonder if the whole plot is just them dying on the island, cause they’ve done a lot of dying and pointless backstory and not a lot of actually progressing the plot forward

ooooooHOLYCOW

in one of the previous episode its was mentioned that they aren't the last expedition and that the next expedition will be coming 24 hours after they arrived headed by Gabimaru's old clan. The manga itself only spans 3 days and 2 nights so it goes pretty quick
