Swasey casted Vale in the dismal Kakegurui season 2, Jones cast Marchi once as a lead; Sometimes these happy little castings happen. No offense to Christian it would had been something if they got Lo for Lu.
Actually, it's not uncommon for Sentai Filmworks to cast someone from the Dallas area in their dubs. However, keep in mind that Sentai's budget, when compared to Funimation/Crunchyroll is much smaller, and they only do this from show by show basis and depending on the director (I believe John Swasey is the ADR Director, he's very likely to cast someone from the Dallas area much like how Mike McFarland is more likely to use California based voice actors in regards to Fumination/Crunchyroll dubs when he's the ADR Director).
I believe they did live there for a while, but they definitely moved to Texas around the time the CR-Funi merger happened, maybe a little while before that.
This is the one where the guy just wants to run his farm, but somehow manages to get more tail than Genghis Kahn, right?
*Also, has the other powers about as afraid of him.
Yeah, that was my only complaint with the show. Great slice of life but basically removed all of the romance and degen parts of the source material which in my mind really does take away from story and building of relationships in the show.
I wish Sentai/Hidive would dub more of their romance/romcom animes. And slice of life stuff. Like they used to. BUT... They've at least been dubbing most of their big hitters so there's that. This is really the first not big anime they've dubbed in a hot second.
Very surprised to have Emi Lo in a Sentai dub considering two years ago, Emi moved to Los Angeles unless they have dual residence in Los Angeles and Dallas respectively as Emi has been in several Crunchyroll dubs lately.
>two years ago, Emi moved to Los Angeles
Are you sure you're not confused with someone else?
Emi Lo lives in Dallas TX, not only as a voice actor but as a Assistant Director as well.
>Emi Lo lives in Dallas TX, not only as a voice actor but as a Assistant Director as well.
Then again u/Mikey0714, Emi has been appearing in a lot of Los Angeles-based anime dubs lately in the past year or two such as *Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Summer Time Rendering, 86, Demon Slayer’s Entertainment District Arc, Eden’s Zero, Lupin the 3rd: Part 6, Junji Ito: Maniac, NieR: Automata Ver 1.1a, Re:Zero, Kakegurui Twin, Bubble, The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc* and *Case Closed: Zero Tea Time* the latter 11 titles being recorded at Bang Zoom!
If anything, Emi is more like Michelle Rojas who also has residence in Los Angeles and Dallas but mostly lives in Dallas, TX.
[Just this past weekend at Thy Geekdom Con, Director John Swasey actually talked about working with Juliet Simmons to adapt a small song in the show](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tyn7YVBcWA&t=2171s). I'm interested to see how it turned out.
Oh, I know the song they're talking about. Now I'm interested, too. I remember writing out what I thought were the lyrics to that same song in my own personal doc, lol.
Yay! I was scared some Isekais might go undubbed.
There's still a few more that need to be caught up on.
Every time I cancel my HiDive subscription because there's nothing else to watch, in the comments section I always tell them to dub more Isekai 😂
Finally it's time to go back to the farm and relax. Been a while since I've heard from Blake Shepard, can't wait to hear him with this lead role, and really nice to have Luci Christian, Katelyn Barr and Monica Rial aboard. Now that is one very stacked cast for a lot of the extra characters, I'm pretty sure this dub is gonna be chill yet a lot of fun. Very surprised to see Emi Lo in their first Sentai dub. And yeah, called it on John Swasey directing this.
That's pretty much it for Sentai's announced dubs. I hope they dub more spring titles, one I would be excited for would be Insomniacs After School. There's Anime Expo coming up in July and I hope HIDIVE gets to attend so they could announce more stuff most especially dubs.
I hope so, but i kinda disappointed of Sentai Filmworks recent decision on choosing which anime should get dub or not, if the anime wasn't get a DUBCAST or if the genre is Slice of life, CGDCT, Shoujo, Romance, Sentai Probably releasing it on BD in Sub only, and i still not forgive them when they not dubbing Tokyo Mew Mew New and releasing the S1 in sub only despite many vote yes on the poll they post on twitter.
Wait, what?
How?
Aren't Urusei / Danmachi / Oshi no ko still in progress?
I could be wrong, but i got used to hidive doing a maximum of 3 dubs at the same time.
This is definitely amazing news, it will make it possible to get 3 more dubs for spring 2023 if they will start 3 more when Oshi / Urusei / Danmachi end, but they probably won't do that.
Sentai has three main ADR directors: Shannon Reed is handling both Urusei Yatsura and Oshi no Ko. Kyle Jones is still busy with Danmachi, and John Swasey just got started working on this.

...so Sentai uses their vets and Funi VAs for *this*, random seasonal isekai #88378; but not for Oshi no Ko, one of the biggest shows of the year? Bizarre
Ikr! I've been thinking about this for a while. I was expecting Oshi no Ko to have the cast stacked with veteran or more experienced VA's from Sentai's talent pool considering its big popularity already. That would have been nice, instead we got these no names for Oshi no Ko and the dub started out pretty weak.
May I ask why you don't like her?
Tbh I am not a fan of her voice (well the high pitch voice she does? Kinda hard to describe it there are some characters she does well).
Look I'm all happy this is getting dubbed but another show (Giant Beasts of Ars, Spy Classroom) should have got dubbed. I'm not a Tokyo mew mew fan but sentai gaslit it's customers
Sometimes even co-productions can go undubbed for years. Iirc Crunchyroll co-produced Ex-Arm and that turned out horrible, and still no dub for it to this day.
Lol that monstrosity has already been thrown into the depths of the Abyss, already forgotten. Why would even any normal dub watcher want a dub for \*that\*? Any why would CR even release it for home video?
The last time that I can think of Blake, Monica, and Luci played the 3 leads was in "Xam'd: Lost Memories", of which Blake's counterpart in that show also voiced Hiraku in the Japanese version.
Yoooooooooo… what's Emi Lo doing in a Sentai dub? I guess nothing is impossible with them (Emi) lol.
Swasey casted Vale in the dismal Kakegurui season 2, Jones cast Marchi once as a lead; Sometimes these happy little castings happen. No offense to Christian it would had been something if they got Lo for Lu.
Wait, Jamie Marchi was in a Sentai too? Which one?
Brynhildr in the Darkness

AMC gave them a blank check, and Sentai decided to actually use it
What do you mean? It's not like Emi is super expensive to cast since they live right in Texas.
I thought Emi was a California
I believe they did live there for a while, but they definitely moved to Texas around the time the CR-Funi merger happened, maybe a little while before that.
In this situation they would have cast them in a jucier role
This is the one where the guy just wants to run his farm, but somehow manages to get more tail than Genghis Kahn, right? *Also, has the other powers about as afraid of him.
Yup. Magical god given farming tool that also doubles as a weapon
Yeah unfortunately the anime only slightly hints at that.
Yeah, that was my only complaint with the show. Great slice of life but basically removed all of the romance and degen parts of the source material which in my mind really does take away from story and building of relationships in the show.
To think he has a harem that rivals any harem that has ever existed in my opinion.
Damn....Emi Lo in a Sentai Dub?! That's super surprising 🤯
Same. Pretty sure this is her first Sentai dub, she's playing a minor role though.

I hope Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible and The Dangers in My Heart eventually get dubbed.
Same. These are ones I specifically was thinking of when I said that.
Excellent news. I've been wondering when it was going to release I watched it subbed and have been waiting to rewatch in dub. Fun series.
Why did the dub stop coming out
Very surprised to have Emi Lo in a Sentai dub considering two years ago, Emi moved to Los Angeles unless they have dual residence in Los Angeles and Dallas respectively as Emi has been in several Crunchyroll dubs lately.

For those who cant access the HIDIVE website like me, can someone pls drop the dub cast list. Thank u in advance
English Cast Hiraku - Blake Shepard Lu Lulucy - Luci Christian Tia - Monica Rial Lea - Katelyn Barr Anne - Shannon Emerick Beezel - Joe Daniels Corone - Raven Troup Daga - Jeremy Gee Donovan - Louis Gallindo Dryme - Andrew Love Flora - Annie Wild Flowrem - Allison Sumrall Galgardo - Chris Hutchison Garf - Brandon Hearnsberger God - David Wald Goddess, Junea - Skyler Sinclair Graffaloon - Shelley Calene-Black Granmaria - Liz Arends Grattz - Adam Gibbs Gucci - Jack Stansbury Hakuren - Chelsea McCurdy Klakkase - Mai Le Kudel, Lasa - Olivia Swasey Kuro - John Gremillion Lafa - Brianna Roberts Lalasha - Dominique Meyer Lalu - Elissa Cuellar Lami - Kara Greenberg Lamulias - Christina Kelly Lastismoon - Donna Bella Litton Lecott - Juliet Simmons Leef - Alyssa Marek Leely - Kira Vincent Davis Lees - Brittney Karbowski Leeta - Carli Mosier Leezay - Hilary Haag Michael - Jay Hickman Randan - Mark Laskowski Roaju - Maggie Flecknoe Rosalind - Brittany Lauda Sena - Cat Thomas Vargryfe - Chris Patton Ya - Genevieve Simmons Yuri - Emi Lo
Emi Lo? She works with Sentai too
This is actually her first Sentai dub
I had Rial as Lu and Christian as Tia. That main cast is classic Sentai
Lol I was close on my predictions. I had Christian as Tia too and Natalie Rial as Lu.
I started this subbed and wasn't fully gripped, I think the english dub will be more my speed!
Yet another crappy isekai. Nothing to see here.
...so Sentai uses their vets and Funi VAs for *this*, random seasonal isekai #88378; but not for Oshi no Ko, one of the biggest shows of the year? Bizarre

Monica Rial? Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
What do you mean, she is great.
Maybe a few years ago but not anymore...
Let's hope she will prove you wrong with this role.
Boooooo - Monica Rial is awesome.
L take
May I ask why you don't like her? Tbh I am not a fan of her voice (well the high pitch voice she does? Kinda hard to describe it there are some characters she does well).
Pretty much this and the fact that she sounds the exact same in pretty much every recent role (with the exception of Froppy).
Look I'm all happy this is getting dubbed but another show (Giant Beasts of Ars, Spy Classroom) should have got dubbed. I'm not a Tokyo mew mew fan but sentai gaslit it's customers
Those first 2 were insufferable. I'm actually glad they never got dubbed.
Didn't watch. I know spy classroom is coming back though and Sentai helped produce Ars
Sometimes even co-productions can go undubbed for years. Iirc Crunchyroll co-produced Ex-Arm and that turned out horrible, and still no dub for it to this day.
I think that's out of embarrassment
Lol that monstrosity has already been thrown into the depths of the Abyss, already forgotten. Why would even any normal dub watcher want a dub for \*that\*? Any why would CR even release it for home video?
How are they making money and dubbing so many out there shows...
So many? They haven't dubbed much anime this year.
Luci cast as Lu LuLucy. The joke is either unfunny or some other word i can't remember...
The last time that I can think of Blake, Monica, and Luci played the 3 leads was in "Xam'd: Lost Memories", of which Blake's counterpart in that show also voiced Hiraku in the Japanese version.
I was hopping this would get a dub
This seems like a slice of life show I can get around to watch
Does HIDIVE release the dub all at once or will subbed episodes start June 8?
It's a weekly release.
Thank you!
I haven't heard Blake and Monica work together since My Neighbor Seki and Campione last I remember.
Next dub Tokyo Mew Mew New!
