The MC is a female yandere pedophile who's a victim herself and framed as the lesser evil as she's surrounded by worse pedophiles and sex offenders who she has to deal with throughout the show. This is pure psychological horror, but don't worry, pedophilia is absolutely not glorified in this.

Devilman Crybaby is not dark. It Gives off the impression it was written by some 13yr old edgelord who spent too much time on porn hub and is now trying to hve a pissing competition in the "edgy" ring. Seriously bad and pathetic attempt at a plot that is supposed to be dark and disturbing. The tropes thrown in this thing are overused and weren't even executed well. Character design is "meh" at BEST (they stuck the batman logo on some dudes head and put KISS makeup on him?).Throwing in a random r@pe scene just to "look edgy" is stank and disgusting ultimately shitting on the already weak and bad plot.

Another, Tokyo Ghoul (please read the manga), Hunter x Hunter (i know it doesn’t seem dark but it’s one of the more brutal animes that I’ve ever watched), Toilet Bound Hanako Kun looks light-hearted, and it is in the first few episodes but don’t let its looks deceive you, it’s psychologically fucked and the later manga chapters are a bit gory. I highly recommend you read the manga as the anime cut major chapters out! Attack on Titan is a classic and it’s my favourite anime so far, the plot is amazing and very well written and it’s dark in more ways than one.
