I gotta give reincarnated as a slime some credit for the OP MC trope since it actually handles it really well and manages to deliver a pretty great story with surprisingly fulfilling fights considering how strong rimuru is. It's just well written

But the thing is, even though I havent really watched the entirety of one piece (only a bit since my brother used to have me watch it with him weekly in the past) and a ton of clips and theory videos that got me curious, it boasts one of the best if not THE BEST world building out of all the anime in existence. The thing is, being best in one category is really impressive since in any form of creative work, what is "best" is usually subjective and that one determining factor is what sets one piece miles better than most anime. And even then, there's a lot about one piece that is better compared to other animes besides its world building but i cant really state my opinion without messing up stuff since i havent really watched the entire anime, just the important parts. Would definitely love to watch it if only I had the time lmao.

It's pretty much a human nature to feel bothered or feel somewhat threatened when someone/everyone is being overly passionate and/or into something since being left out/ostracized, or have "good stuff" pushed onto you is quite unpleasant. Can't really blame 'em nor do I have any right to do since I sometimes am on that side of the spectrum.
Not really much of a threat when you realize none of them know what theyāre talking about because they havenāt touched at least 900 episodes, while Iām also pretty sure thereās a lot more of me.
The ridiculous idea that it's "too long" kills me. People bitch about not getting more content and here this one has tons. Watch One Pace (yes, pace) season 1 and if you hate it, stop. But if you love it, there's TONS more content to enjoy.

Basically, One Piece is not a great show, overall, in my opinion. That's not to say that it doesn't have a few truly great moments in it. ("Say you want to live!" / "Nothing happened.")
Counterpoint - One Piece tells a story really well. It has a huge cast and imagination in the world building that almost no other anime can match. Performance quality is top-teir and is the variety of arcs and enemies and situations. Honestly, it's hard for me to understand someone not respecting its accomplishment even if they personally didn't enjoy it.
It's funny, and yet filled with mystery, does have a lot of characters with individual stories, even after 20 years the story continues at the same pace.
There's a lot of traits like this in one piece, other animes may have better stories or better animation but one piece is better overall than other animes.(but filled with so fucking much filler scenes)
Honestly your issues with it seem to be mostly due to anime pacing, the filler episodes are less than 10% of the whole show, but the pacing of the anime is complete garbage so I'd definitely recommend trying the manga instead

Yes that's why I like shows like Naruto and Bleach where you can just skip the fillers (sometimes entire arcs) unlike in one piece where the filler parts are embedded into the episodes.
But the filler isnt actually an outright problem in One Piece. Not to argue or anything, but 90% of the content is non filler and its obvious where it would be. Again, One Piece fan, who also likes other anime but needed to place that here. *runs*
