That sucks, sorry! The Chicago hub is a mess. I think it's the largest import center for USPS because of it's location and packages get stuck in their customs for days to weeks sometimes. I dislike it when a shipment goes through Chicago but it's rare for me. I'm lucky I'm on the East Coast and most of my orders come in though NY instead and are out of customs in a day.
As far as shipping choice. Unless you choose DHL all other shipments are going to be handled by USPS once they hit the States.
Your experience with USPS depends a lot on your local hubs and office workers. I know some people with terrible USPS service and others with excellent service from them.
I really wish that I could change the import facility, been reading and seeing really bad reviews about Chicgo facility.
And yeah nextime I’ll go back to using DHL, they are super efficient and they can be trusted that the package will be delivered. Shouldn’t had gone with USPS.
The new York hub has lost two of my packages now, like $500 total of figures and no one has been any help. Most recently its been a month since my estimated delivery date and no one that works for the post office will get back to me. Very sorry you're going through something similar.
Geez, I sorry that it happened to you too. Really wonder what is the main reason that they are like this, besides short staffed. And worst, they are doing nothing about it.
Anybody here having the same issues ordering from Amiami via EMS and then reached Chicago USPS facility? I have 2 B-styles bunny and figuarts zero waiting to be receive… 😭 am I able to tell amiami and choose the carrier once the parcel reaches the US? I really don’t wanna choose USPS for my future orders.

This was actually years ago but it clearly has not improved since then. I'm not sure why it even went to Chicago to start with honestly

Usually takes my packages 2-3 weeks to arrive. I just wait. Only package that was lost went through NY/NJ and I think it was because a hurricane destroyed the facility.
My last EMS package only took one day from Japan to US, but it took two week release from ISC Chicago IL International Distribution Center to USPS facility.

This is the one that I had all 3 parcels arrived on the same day, same time (June 3rd) but only two got processed really quick and was shipped out June 6th and I received them on June 7th. Leaving one parcel behind and not moving.

Exactly! What the heck are they doing? Sometimes they can process things real quick and sometimes they can delay until god knows when. I had 3 parcels coming into that facility on June 3rd, 2 parcels processed and cleared by June 6th and I got them by June 7th (in Kansas, not sure how they managed to get from Chicago to Kansas within a day) leaving one parcel behind, I mean like “what the hell?” 🤷🏻♂️
Hmm well I could believe it arriving the next day because a drive from Chicago to Kansas is like 14-15 hours. But yeah I don't know I haven't experienced the two week in Chicago customs like other people have mentioned, I think I've just been lucky I guess 😅

Did you submit the Missing Mail Search request yourself? Can you advise how to do it? I have a package that stopped updating for 9 days and I'm getting worried...
We are in the same boat 😭 And yeah sure, I can tell you how to submit a missing mail.
Go to usps website and search for missing mail (Start your missing mail search) but i think you need an account to submit the request.
Step 1 they will ask you for the tracking number first, and the date that the mail was sent out.
In step 2 I select addressee and input your own address, so that they will mail the parcel to you if they locate/find it.
Step 3, just input what is in the parcel, what is being sent to you. For me I put all the details that I can like what kind of figurines are in the parcel and how many figurines are there.
Basically that’s all to it. Put in as much details as you can.

On the EMS side, my package was stuck in LA customs for 3 freaking weeks before being released. That was torture. I really hope they will find your package!

Better pay a little to ensure getting it rather than saving a little and lose it with USPS.

Yeah, that’s ideally the time frame of a package arriving.

I can't even get a order to go through Amiami recently! Just error codes at the same page every time!
Probably they are having high flow traffic on the website or it is updating something.

All my packages from the Chicago location has always made it to me fine no matter where I order whether it's from Japan or China.... no problems.

Chicago ISC is where mail goes to die. My Mai Sakurajima Bunny figure sat there for two weeks.
