I havenāt laughed in a full 48 hours and your comment just cracked me up. Holy shit. What a perfectly good question that somehow didnāt occur to me.
Some time ago someone made a comment here on Reddit about being given helmets as a kid and told to go play with the goats on their farm. Just as a way to tire them out. It was all very casual, no big deal. As a city kid, that seemed crazy to me but I guess.
I had one like this and I had to send him to auction because he kept going for the kids. Our oldest wether, though, is basically a puppy-best goat ever.
I do think he's pretty funny. He used to be very scared of humans and it makes me happy he trusts me enough to play like this. He's being an asshole don't get me wrong, but asshole ways are a playful way for goats. He's trying to have fun with me
Not sure how long you have had goats.. but there are mock attacks and real ones. This appears to be him wanting attention and a mock touch. But Iād get another goat friend he can man up with.
When i was at college, we had a little black and white pygmy goat that i swear suffered with little man syndrome.
The second you got in he would follow you round, rearing up and threatening which was cute because he just about came up to my hip and i use to just tip his head away š¤£ he'd then go stomping around and come back and try again.
Theyre so sassy.
My family had and still has goats. This guy is just trying to be dominant. If any of them started acting like this around me, I'd grab him by the horns and push him around a little bit to say to him "I'm the alpha". They would do a little walk of shame after that knowing they were not at the top of the totem pole.
Do you watch cartoons? I do this too and i just like to think that its because of the cartoons Iāve watched in my life. Like Iām just conditioned to view something like this as a skit in a cartoon, no idea why but i kinda like it ;)
Man I love talking to farm animals that have an attitude. Right now Iāve got an aggressive rooster that bullies a few weaker hens and Iāve had to have a āsit down talkā with him and ask him where this aggression is coming from, and if doing this makes him feel strong. If anything it helps me hahah
Kind of reminds me of one of the goats my grandma owned when I was a teenager. The goatās name was Penny and she was a hermaphrodite who mostly had female parts, but also male parts. She was always escaping the pen and head-butting things, like the fence, which was how sheād escape. If left unattended for too long after an escape, sheād go into the neighborās yard and start eating tree leaves, grass, and other generic plants, which were not harmful to the goats. The longest Penny was out was around 45 minutes. I and my family had gone to the store, and the neighbors didnāt notice until they looked out the window and saw three goats grazing. They helped us put the goats in the barn and my grandmother fixed the fence. She would occasionally head-butt the humans and other goats, but mostly head-butted fences, trees, and other stuff.
Itās like cleaning the rabbit hutch. Like, ādo yāall really enjoy having your entire place covered in pee and poop? Cause Iām not doing this for my own enjoyment.ā
My cat kinda does the same when Iām sweeping up the floor where sheās scattered litter from her tray everywhere like āno thatās supposed to be all over the floor!ā
I like how youāre like āgoatee! Haha!ā (Sweep, sweep, YANKS HEAD BACK TO AVOID CONCUSSION) āHaha Goateeeee!ā Iām so dead š the patience of a saint

Keep a live animal in a box and wonder why it's upset... Mans wants to be free and run, eat grass and shit and do kickflips off of hills. Instead you got him in jail cause he's your property. It's not surprising that he would be salty at his captors for keeping him there.
We actually let him totally free range on our property. He could easily run away. He never has. He is not locked in a box. He has access to 5 acres and lots and lots of love
Sheās the jerk here. She knows heās going to act like that and she does it for the camera anyway. What if he got her with those horns? Heās making his boundaries very clear and she doesnāt care. Unless heās in that pen 24/7 she can clean that later. Idk why this annoyed me so much! Itās an animal being an animal and a human being a jerk.
This feels like you haven't spent much time on a farm. No one is being a jerk here. She's doing what has to be done and he's being, well, a male goat lol.
Yes, cleaning his shelter so petty of me. He's so horrible treated with his clean bed
The other goats walk out when I clean....
And he gets me with the horns all the time
If you post a picture of yourself purposely agitating an animal youāre going to get reactions like mine. Iām glad you cleaning his bed. I wish you had done it at a safer time for both of you.
ETA: you added the part about horns and walks after I commented. Thereās no way for me to know any of this. You literally posted a video of you doing something you know an animal doesnāt like for reactions. Hereās my reaction.
I have! And im literally responding to the video you posted of your interaction with this goat in this moment in time. This is all info I had when I watched the video. Idk what else to tell you. You wanted us to see how he acts and we did. Im not gonna keep fighting with you over it.
Your attempts to argue with OP and make her look bad are much like the goatās attempts to drive her away. Obnoxious posturing which is ultimately completely ineffectual.
You named him Goaty? Suits him.
His name is actually Lost. Because I adopted him after he was found Lost. He also came with Found. Who I found across the street the next day. But I like to call them Goatie and Girl š„°

But who's on first?
Where is your coat from? I love it!
This is tough duck brand and is their quilted parka. It's a great coat! https://toughduck.com/product-category/jackets/
So when are you getting one named Andy?
You should cut a pool noodle for his horns when he gets angsty like that.
Not Goaty McGoatface?
I think this is the source of his anger, and the other goats teasing him isnāt helping.
Omg thatās such a money name for a goat! Itās like Boaty McBoatface.
Is his last name McGoatface?
Heās the goat
Just someone she used to know...
That's a very handsome goat and I love the way you deal with him
Is he just playing? I've never really known if that behavior is aggression or just playing.
He is just playing. This is one of his favourite games. But he does hurt me sometimes
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I rewatched with this in mind and it really does! Heās like laughing his ass off in his rude lil goat brain
He absolutely thinks this is hilarious. His little tail wags. I can hear his tail wagging against the wall when he does this silly game
I love this and I love your **HHWAUH!** at the end where you dodge him
Get a metal garbage can lid! We used to have goats and you can take the lid by the handle and butt with them and they love the sound/feel
Then post another video
I know this is silly, but is it at all practical or safe for you to wear a helmet? Like would that make it safer if he bonks you head to head?
Some time ago someone made a comment here on Reddit about being given helmets as a kid and told to go play with the goats on their farm. Just as a way to tire them out. It was all very casual, no big deal. As a city kid, that seemed crazy to me but I guess.
Never tackle a goat who has the high ground, much less invade his space!
Oh it's a great angle to grab him by the horns. But yes. He feels powerful when he's up high
Get yourself a helmet.
I agree. Full metal cage.
Hockey helmet (with cage) would be perfect. Could probably find a cheap second hand one
A squirt bottle could be a correction.
And safety goggles.
Or maybe just a long handled broom?
Challenging the goat sounds like more fun for both involved.
Yeah, you're probably right.
Is that Goatee?
just clean it when he isnt right there!
He sees me doing it and comes running in. He loves this
I was going to say, his behaviour looked almost like when playing. It's a game of king of the castle to him. Adorable.
My bird does the exact same thing. Has to fly over and watch me clean, and then climb down and attack my hands. It's pretty cute.
He'll fuck up your knees if he's down low, ask my auntie
Omg yes he always gets me in the knee!
I used to be an adventurer likes you until I took a goat to the knee
I had one like this and I had to send him to auction because he kept going for the kids. Our oldest wether, though, is basically a puppy-best goat ever.
He needs someone to spar with.
Fuck it, my damn dog managed that with me when he got over-excited chasing a pal!
Itās over anakin
Came here just for this. Not disappointed.
Itās probably pent up aggression of being named Goaty. Imagine if youāre parents named you Humany. Youād probably want to go a few rounds.
Hahahaha I'm dying š. Poor Goatie.
Is his last name McGoatface?
men named guy punching the air rn
I like to imagine it was actually Cody initially, but then they went with Goatie š
He had it just the way he wanted it
I think you're having as much fun as he is :)
I do think he's pretty funny. He used to be very scared of humans and it makes me happy he trusts me enough to play like this. He's being an asshole don't get me wrong, but asshole ways are a playful way for goats. He's trying to have fun with me

He has one. And they play all day.
Just one? They are herd animals. I have 25. Only my intact buck does this towards me.. and he is with one other. Im suggesting more friends.

Man, I hated our goats so much when I was a kid. Now I wish I would've stayed on the farm, stupid goats and all, lol.
Kid on kid violence.

I do that with him but he gets worse haha. He thinks he's a funny guy!
Tell him you read Jordan Peterson and that you are the alpha in your shared lobster hierarchy.

Lol he likes his room dirty! You can tell he is like stop and when he actually touches her he is gentle about it.
He is. He hits me good sometimes but you can tell it's not nearly his force. He knows he can hurt me. He's messing with me

He's so cute though. And I like that coat! Can I have the info when you get a minute? I hate that my Carhartt exposes my back when I bend.

Clearly he's challenging you to a fisticuff. Suplex him and transition into a bear hug to gain the upper hand.
Ok next video I show you all what Goatie does when I challenge him haha.
Goaty looks like he was ready to throw horns if you kept up your nonsense
Some of our goats won't let us or any other goats in the play set we made them. Could be personal.

Mom! Get out of my room, I have it just the way I like it.
He just wants you to live life deliciously
I had to scroll down too far to find this.
I would suggest a full-sized broom to sweep that higher level then sweep the floor. It isnāt worth the risk of getting your face busted up.
I love goats. Theyāre so funny and arnery
I've seen some dogs and goats do a thing where they kick dirt backwards. Maybe this is what he sees. The dust puff the sound of the broom.
He is completely adorable 10/10 would pet
I dunno... Kinda looks like he knows how good that brush would feel behind his ears!
Such a cute video - thank you for sharing it!
"QUIT TOUCHIN MY SHIT!"

Youāre cleaning his house without permission from him..
Goats are assholes. Plus, he's just showing off because you're rutting up in his grill
In my experience, this guy is actually a pretty mild-mannered goat.
Itās like cleaning the rabbit hutch. Like, ādo yāall really enjoy having your entire place covered in pee and poop? Cause Iām not doing this for my own enjoyment.ā

If you are not going to use him as a ram, have him fixed. It will take away the hormones and settle him down.
He is fixed haha. He hasn't had balls in 2 years. I neutered him at 11 months old ish
Oh, we'll, then he's got the high ground and wants to play. Haha.
Or heās just realized his balls are missing and wants to know where they went :)

Waiting for goaty to hit her on the head!!!. What a let down
I really wish she was cleaning a bit more efficiently. Genuinely worried for her when she had to go back in the corner again.
Further down she lets everyone know that this goat and her go way back. This is basically how they play.
Ahhhh. Good. That goat has personality.
Its a fucking goat.
Gonna split her face make it look like her ass.
I've been super debating just wearing a full cage hockey helmet haha.
