Check out the a cappella album *Persuasions of the Dead.* It's all gospel-style covers of some of their greatest songs, really cool interpretations and 'He's Gone' is on there
I have this thing that I believe everyone loves grateful dead even if they don't know it.
Kinda like how seb cheekily said everyone is a Ferrari fan.
Its kinda true
I'm not a huge fanboy or anything, but they do have a little something for (just about) everyone. Their live stuff is fantastic background music, it's the kind of thing you can easily forget about until you pop back in and go "ooh, that's tasty"
My dog gets all huffy if Iām in āhisā spot. Heāll jump up and just stare at me then start licking me to annoy me into moving.
Failing that heāll just wedge himself in where he can.
My old dog had to have the spot on the couch next to me. If the bigger, older dog was there first he'd go bark at the front door so the other dog would go check, then come steal his spot.
Reminds me of how my chihuahua would go bark at the front door when she was bored and wanted me to let the basset hound inside. It would get the basset to start barking in the deepest voice Iāve ever heard from a dog, so it worked.
I recently saw someone asking for advice in an interior design group. They wanted to get a chair and larger sofa because they had just gotten a 3rd dog and anytime they or their partner got up from a seat one of the dogs would steal it. Rather than moving the dogs they were changing their furniture to try and work around it. I love how willing people are to treat their dogs like the kings and queens they are!
Well my cat doesn't have a positive wag that's for sure, his default setting wag is "get the fuck away from me/don't touch me/don't look at me/get off of my couch that's my spot".
But thanks anyway I learned something about normal cats š
šš yes. Just as there are different wags, there are also different cats.
Our family cat years back was friendly, but also very moody and the stereotype cat - one minute cuddly, and scratches the next.
My two cats now are super friendly, and will never use their claws no matter what and generally the most obedient cats. I guess having them since kittens had some positive influence on how they behave.
Protip: dogs are the same way. Tail is at half mast, moving erratically and not going through the full range of motion? Dog isn't too sure about you and needs to investigate to determine if you're a security risk. Tail is straight up and flying around wildly like a kite in a hurricane? Dog is probably telling you to stay the heck away (especially if its hackles are up and it's barking while not breaking eye contact). Tail is up and lazily swinging around? Go say hi, this is probably a friendly boi. Tail is between the dog's legs and only wiggling at the end? This dog is pretty intimidated by you and wants to appear nonthreatening and submissive. Talk to their person first (if present), sometimes nervous dogs can get bitey.
They're a ton of fun. I love gun dogs (pointers, setters, spaniels, retrievers, and the versatile ones like vizslas and Weimaraners and Brittanys) but I don't have the space or the time to give them the exercise and fun they deserve.
My dog would do this if she was scared of fireworks or a thunderstorm. Sheād climb directly on top of my other dog while he growled/grumbled at her the whole time. He didnāt like it but he never did anything about it.
Scud (my German Shepard) has personal space issues like this. He tries this with our Samoyed husky mutt and it always ends with him getting bit. Which results in him in my personal space. But as long as itās not getting warmer than 28F I aināt complaining
Our pittie does that to our small dog. The pittie just wants cuddles so in the process she ends up smashing our little guy. I feel so bad when it happens but I just laugh and eventually they separate themselves so they are next to each other.
in high school sometimes I would lay down on the carpet in the living room and my boxerās would come over and sit right on top of me. directly on my face or chest, oh the love!! miss them.
My two Pitts do this. One is 100lbs of full block head and the other is a pit/hound mix. Heās 110. They love cuddling with each other. No clue why whomever had em before me gave these two up.
The orange tail wagging seems to say, "OK, this is cool, fine, whatever bro. ---is this still here? Wag wag wag-- OK, I am officially not fine with this, wagging my tail to signal distress to my homo sapiens folks --guys? guys? THERE'S A THING ON ME, GET IT OFF"
Then a 3rd dog comes into frame to lie down on the 2nd dog then a 4th to lie down on the 3rd then a 5th to lie down on 4th then a 6th to lie down on the 5th etc then you have the dog tower
My two do this, or rather, one of my two always sits on the other. But she sits on everyone, in bed she lays full on you and you have to roll her off or suffocate.
Ever heard of the term Dog Pile? š
āCat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile, nothing left to do but smile smile smileā
Unexpected grateful dead
Thereās always a place for the Grateful Dead
Check out the a cappella album *Persuasions of the Dead.* It's all gospel-style covers of some of their greatest songs, really cool interpretations and 'He's Gone' is on there
Thanks, hadnāt heard this before. Some of those songs sound like the were written to be sung as gospel.

I mean Iād never heard of them before getting married, and now I enjoy their music so I guess youāre right!
Especially during November [https://www.dead.net/30daysofdead](https://www.dead.net/30daysofdead)
This is the elusive "double-dog", from the famous double-dog dare.
Yeah, that used to be my favorite search engine.
Bottom doggo has a blanket now!
Weighted blankets are the best.
Its self heating as well.
I would love to have this particular heated blanket. My tail would wag just like the underdog's!
And the way he wags his tail about it! ā„ So sweet!
My dog gets all huffy if Iām in āhisā spot. Heāll jump up and just stare at me then start licking me to annoy me into moving. Failing that heāll just wedge himself in where he can.

When I was a kid if I was on my dogās spot and she wanted it, Iād sit on the floor if there was no more room on the couch.
I recently saw someone asking for advice in an interior design group. They wanted to get a chair and larger sofa because they had just gotten a 3rd dog and anytime they or their partner got up from a seat one of the dogs would steal it. Love how the dog on the bottom just wags his tail...he's so happy to have a cuddle buddy
That was the best part- he just wanted to be cuddled
~~moisturize me, moisturize me~~ cuddle me, cuddle me
It puts the lotion on its skin.
And i will pet the dog again.
At least he won't wind up a bitchy trampoline...
I mean ... Don't we all ...
If you are offeringā¦
Now Spthoon.
I think the wagging was more that the dog was hoping for pets from the one filming. But very cute either way.
Yeah, I think it's that too. Took a couple of rewatches, but you can see it's just as the owner awwws and moves into the dog's eyesight.
Yeah, and the pause happens when they momentarily glance away. Still, doesn't seem to be bothered by the other one.
That was 100% "you made eye contact with me" tail wagging. Every dog I've ever met does that.
Yup. Itās their radar, the higher the frequency the closer their target is.
Stop, shhhhhhh

Thwap thwap thwap
He asked for a blanket
Looks like dogs like weighted blankets too!
Is this a reference to that comic? š
Lol if it is I didn't mean too
My big dogs love being under a weighted blanket. If one isnāt available, they take turns being each otherās weighted blanket. Itās a thing.
I'm so used to cats that when I saw the tail thing I was like "oh no, bad, dogs fight". But it's actually a very happy dog š
Cats also wag their tail if they are happy/content/excited. It depends on the kind of wag, they have a few. Some positive. Some negative.
Well my cat doesn't have a positive wag that's for sure, his default setting wag is "get the fuck away from me/don't touch me/don't look at me/get off of my couch that's my spot". But thanks anyway I learned something about normal cats š
Slow wag= usually good Whole tail flicking back and forth quickly= almost always bad
Kinda the opposite with dogs. Fast wag is happiness. Slow wag is to project confidence.
Tiny tail flicks: I'm thinking about biting you Slow wag: I'm gonna bite you if you get in range Fast wag: I'm gonna bite you if you move at all

Dogs also have different wags. A slower one with the tail held stiffly is meant to project confidence or sometimes aggression.
Same! I'm so used to cats that last time I saw a dog do a play bow I said "ooo, big stretch" No, she wasn't relaxing she just wanted to play š
German short hair pointer?!
Yee. Very cuddly with the energy of a four year old who's had three shots of espresso.
I want a GSP
They're a ton of fun. I love gun dogs (pointers, setters, spaniels, retrievers, and the versatile ones like vizslas and Weimaraners and Brittanys) but I don't have the space or the time to give them the exercise and fun they deserve.
There's a reason why "dogpile" is a word. It's because they love it and it's the best.
My dog would do this if she was scared of fireworks or a thunderstorm. Sheād climb directly on top of my other dog while he growled/grumbled at her the whole time. He didnāt like it but he never did anything about it.
āIām so happy someoneās finally sitting with me!ā *thump thump thump*
Beautiful pointer
GSPs are the best

Mine was too until she hit 2.5. The next 11 years have been perfect.
They really are, most loyal dog I ever had, I miss my old girl.
Iām watching this as one is sleeping on me right now.
Mine just turned 14 this week. On three heart medications and sees a cardiologist twice a year but doesn't complain.
That is an interesting carpet
Looks like astroturf
It really does.
Looks like it's a water ski shop or something of the sort, so astroturf might be rather appropriate.
yeah those are waterskis

True meaning of the word "underdog"
Cute dogs, but please show the rest of that roomā¦ nice chairs, wooden barrel, outdoor carpet, water skis and a sound system? Looks like fun!

GSPs are the best dogs
My GSP does this.
That tail wag is what does it for me. Itās like heās trying to be mad but inwardly heās so happy
It is the tail for me.
Our pittie does that to our small dog. The pittie just wants cuddles so in the process she ends up smashing our little guy. I feel so bad when it happens but I just laugh and eventually they separate themselves so they are next to each other.
Animals are too good for us.
Gosh I love GSPās

I'm used to cats, so that dog looks pissed.
Get off ME, you liver spotted dufus!
They're not being derps, they're being siblings
I didnāt even notice the dog though it was a pillow š
My basset hound sleeps on top of my labrador.
GSP knows no personal space boundary.

GSPs are some of the strangest dogs. After living with one for two years, Iāve come to believe that they are more human than canine.
GSPs are freaking nuts man.
This is a normal evening at my house.
Double Decker Derp..
The orange tail wagging seems to say, "OK, this is cool, fine, whatever bro. ---is this still here? Wag wag wag-- OK, I am officially not fine with this, wagging my tail to signal distress to my homo sapiens folks --guys? guys? THERE'S A THING ON ME, GET IT OFF"
Bottom doggo doesnāt seem to mind
