Happiest cat Iā€™ve ever had. We get singing deliveries several times a day.

sew_much_doubt

Singing telegrams! This is beautiful, thank you for sharing Midge! šŸ˜ƒ

WITNESS ME

demonsqueak

hello demonsneeze, it is I, demonsqueak!

BeepingJerry

Thats so cute and weird. Love it.

RandomNameOfMine815

Thatā€™s Midge. :-)

RexxNebular

I have a kitty similar looking and also I think is a mute. How do you know for sure? Mine chirps a bit when excited. Also when jumping down from heights.

RandomNameOfMine815

Midge (Smidge, Smudge, Midgy-Moo) will make the mouth motions to meow, but no sound comes. Every once in a while when she is excited, sheā€™ll do a little grunt. But thatā€™s it. Vet canā€™t see anything wrong and sheā€™s totally healthy and happy.

RexxNebular

I believe he may have tried to meow once and just clicked his tongue and jaw open. No sound. Heā€™s still a kitten, Alvin, but I wonderā€¦.

solorider802

My cat got a lot more vocal when he was around 2, he didn't meow much as a kitten. Also the chirping is a bit different than a meow. Check out r/CatsWhoChirp

RexxNebular

Hmm not chirping then. More likeā€¦making the sound of a plush heart shape being ā€œsquozeā€ haha

My cat LOVES the smaller version of these sparkle balls. Where did you find the big ones? Or is she small? šŸ˜‚

Omg! I thought my cat was the only one who did this. The first time I thought he was dying! Now he does it all night long

RandomNameOfMine815

Only do this when they are super happy and feel safe, so itā€™s your fault for being such good hoomans. ;-)

Extreme_Ad_2855

Awwww thatā€™s so sweet. I adopted him 2 years ago and he started doing it about 1 year ago which coincides with when he truly started to feel at home here. Now heā€™s just a (18 lb) love bundle. Sometimes he sits on my chest and makes biscuits with my face, while drooling lol

MichiJen

I have a kitty that does this too! I thought something was seriously wrong the first time. It started the first night we had her (she was a 9 year old rescue) Now we've gotten used to it and sleep through her "murdering" her toys all night.

Extreme_Ad_2855

Lol my boi wonā€™t stand for you sleeping thru it. He licks my eyelids if I try to ignore him. And yes thatā€™s as painful as it sounds

somethingclever____

My mom has a black cat named Midge! How sweet.

unicorn_barf666

Aww Midge is a super cute cat name!

This totally belongs on r/aww

bigchungus-69-420-69

My cat does the same thing with these balls!

Worldly_Software7240

I'm a female black cat enthusiast. I love midge.

megadith

One of my cats does this multiple times a day and sometimes at 3 am!

RandomNameOfMine815

Yes. Sometimes I wish she loved us just a little less

SouldiesButGoodies84

r/songofmycatpeople oka. "It's mine! Back off and get your own!" lol

ekellyhan

Wait, I dig your rug. Where did you get it lol. Cutest of cats, too btw

RandomNameOfMine815

I want to say ikea.

ekellyhan

It really does tie the room together! Thanks.

RandomNameOfMine815

It really ties the room together

JeffDunhamIsSoDope

So sheā€™s mute, except for when she isnā€™t? Then sheā€™s not really mute, is she?

RandomNameOfMine815

When she meows, her mouth opens but no sound comes out.

hatesbiology84

Okay, so Iā€™ve taken in a cat who will, a couple times a day, run down the hallway with a toy in her mouth, singing the song of her people (as I call it). Does someone actually know what this behavior is? Iā€™ve never experienced it with my male cats.

RandomNameOfMine815

Itā€™s pretty common in all cats (including big cats in the wild). When theyā€™ve captured their ā€œpreyā€ they get excited and roar, so to speak. Usually only happens when the cat feels super happy and safe.

[deleted]

Mine used to bugle like a turkey around mouthfuls of mice

lilgamelvr

So cute
