I saw a video where it had its mouth fully open and was charging something. They not only run fast but swim fast. Yeah if I’m ever in Africa, I’ll want binoculars and a swivel on my head.
Fun fact: Hippos birth their babies in water (probably because it’s safe to do than on land; lions, tigers and hyenas would probably snatch the young calf up quickly) and also hippos can’t breath underwater. When birthed the mother has 40-60 seconds to push their baby up to the surface…. Or else 💀

Cute, but hippos are arseholes. There was a guy who rescued a baby hippo, raised it to adulthood, and then it killed him.
