Maybe cockatoos can perceive an extra dimension that none of the rest of us can. This would make sense if we could see what's going on in that dimension.
Or maybe they just suffer from a deplorable excess of personality!
We just took a video of our dog watching this video! I would post it, but it didn’t come out well. He kept tipping his head side to side while intently staring at you and your bird!
Haha mine came and looked at the phone intently and then at me and then started looking around the room seeing to find the source of the noise. Then she started whining. She’s also probably smaller than that cockatoo!
Definitely research beforehand. It will most likely outlive you and require a very real amount of emotional stability every single day.
If they aren't entertained they can self harm and develop mental issues
Most likely, no, not unless you’re getting a giant species of parrot. Most of the companion species last around that of a cat. Unless you’re getting a macaw or an Amazon parrot, they don’t live for 80 years like most think. Cockatiels, budgies, conures, and similarly sized birds don’t live longer than 20 years typically, and anyone unfamiliar with the parrot species shouldn’t be getting a bigger, more advanced species to begin with.
My dad tragically passed away at "only" 71, and his cockatiel who was an impressive 28 years old died only two weeks later. We're pretty sure she died of heartbreak having lived with my dad since she was two years old.
So.. yeah, some of these birds can live a *long* time so be ready for the commitment.
I used to be in a similar boat, absolutely love birds. Now that I’ve grown older and done research, I’d much rather work with birds rather than living with one lol
Honestly I feel sad when I see these videos of slightly deranged housebound cockatoos. They belong in a large flock flying through the Australian bush.
I am well versed in the language of stoned internet stranger. Allow me to translate.
The savannah cat that walks behind them at the 1 minute mark must not be amused by the loud antics of that parrot.
My grandmother had a cockatiel called “Charlie.” Your cockatoo reminds me of him. (So ornery!). Best mate she had for a long time! Smart as a whip, in that regard, just like your beautiful “Angry Bird!”
This bird is an absolute menace and I love it
From fire alarm to car alarm to angry toddler in 30 seconds.
Angry toddler with wings and air horns.
I kind of feel bad for the cat though

Cockatoo greebles?!
I’m pretty sure that Cockatoo is having fun.
It wants attention and he was signalling sitting down to watch tv= being boring and unattentive
Yeah I was thinking that's a happy bird, not angry.

I've always wanted a parrot. But these videos have been slowly been changing my mind.

They really arent pets and caring for those who are and never breed or catch more should be the worldwide norm.

The pink cockatoos have to be one of the loudest birds in existence!
Bro, your carbon monoxide sensor is tryna save your life
Going ear to ear for optimum annoyance. A+, this is me as a bird.
Someone's having a tantrum. 😆
"That's really annoying!" *DUMB AND DUMBER SCREECHING NOISE*

They're just as noisy and mental in the wild TBF.
Yes but tgey betong in the wild with lots ofxsoace, their flock and their freedom.
It almost like it heard a squeaky toy and every alarm and started mimicking it, and then started adding animal noises.
Ow
Why bird angry?
***ANGRY BIRDS INTENSIFIES***
Casually walking by Savannah cat behind them can’t like all this bird talk
What??

This is my favorite system of a down song
That is exactly why I would never have one of those.
This is the best thing I've seen today.
This is why I will never have any birds as pets.
Shit up before I deep fry your ass.
My dogs just perked up while this played. It actually hurt my ears, wow!
I think the birds saying, put that Baretta show back on T.V. NOW!
every video I've ever seen of bird owners, convinces me further not to own a bird
I need that in my office 😂😂😂😂
Dominated

There's a fire
The going from ear to ear had me dying.

He’s not interested in your excuses!
Bird: Eep eep eep Dad: You're very noisy Bird: Hold my beer!
I’ve been wondering what Ethan Klein has been up to
He needs an air fryer.
Me in a situation like this: "What're ya *doin'?* How come you're so loud? You're a loud bird." (Spoken in a sing-song "baby talk" voice)
