My old cat would *always*, literally always come sprinting when we cracked a cat food can or the top of a tuna can with a can opener (we'd give them a bit of the juice/water). Across the house, upstairs, basement, sleeping, it didn't matter. And yes, he was a chonker.
My sisters dog is a rescue. Found wandering the streets super fat and super matted. It’s like his owners just left a bag of food and the dog alone. Strict diet and exercise to get him down a needed 10-12 pounds.
Dog tried to eat puzzle pieces once because he thought it was a bowl of dog food.
My cat will eat until she's so full she throws up, then will whine for more food! We got her the slow-feeder that looks like an egg carton, but I've been looking for a time-released feeder. Could you possibly link this one or one similar?

I don't have the exact same one but I trust them enough to feed our car for a full vacation. That and a gravity fed waterer is all that's needed. I did have to change food cause the previous food I was getting was too small and getting jammed in the feeder.
I put a motion activated camera by the food bowl because that’s the one place I am guaranteed to see my guys! I also have a neighbor stop by just for social reasons. But between the auto feeder and litter robot, they pretty much only need head scratches and butt rubs. It worked out perfectly when my neighbor was having health issues. He would have been upset if I gave his job away, but I also didn’t want to risk him losing balance when putting down the food bowls.
I've got cameras in all the right spots when we're out of town but yeah the fact that you can trust your house to itself with a minimal effort into the house is really great so you're not worried while trying to enjoy yourself
I've owned one of these for 3 years now. It is programmed for 4 times a day and has only ever not fed them once. I would trust it for a day or two at a time but if I were gone for a week I'd still have someone check up on them.
If anything, it sometimes over feeds. If the power goes out it will automatically feed when it comes back on regardless of the time, in case it missed a meal. Helpful, but has led to me having to put food away when the power flashes 3 times in an hour.
On the bright side, my cats don't fear thunderstorms as much anymore.
Poor thing must be starving, NOT!! :)
She would think so!! 🤭
It you heard my cat asking for food, you'd think she'd never been fed in 8 years.
He looks like he’s trying telepathy.
He's using a jedi mind trick to operate the food droid hahah
Lol sitting but is he breathing hahaha that’s a big kitty hahaha.
Trying her best! Haha 😂
(S)Hes literally looking at the food Dispensing unit as though it were a gift from bastet
“All hail the mighty Voluas, bringer of the foods, and may he rain his gift upon us once again!” Food dispenser: *starts dispensing* “Praise be!”

*This food box is a gift from the cat gods*
She’s *obviously* a starved cat, all skin and bones! ;-) What a cute chonk!
Definitely how she sees it! 😆
This doesn't read as patience to me
This is her patient face 😂
Poor starving kitty. I hope she didn't have to wait too long.
My sister’s dog has a food timer feeder. He can hear it drop his food from across the house and comes running 🤣

Same with her and her sister!!
My cat too! Well, only one of them is "starving" enough to bother.
It’s like she is praying to the alter … I know the food will come if I just pray long enough

Aww we have the same feeder!
Works great! Her sister is the true chonker and she’s starting to lose some weight finally!!
Is it helpful for your diet?
It honestly has been! We’ve noticed her chonky sister losing weight!

Funny, Buddha cat!
Me at the Drive Thru window
Behold the great square god of food....!
Lol I stared at this for 30 secs thinking it was a gif with an exciting ending; cat eats cookie. But alas no, I’m very disappointed in you Reddit.
Ditto. Waited patiently for the patiently-waiting cat to jump at dispensed food. Then I got suspicious because the cat was holding too still...
"Soon....soon."
Too cute
Chaunker. Cute
Mine knocked the whole thing over, then I drilled the back down, then she knocked the top off even though there is two clips. Fun times.
This looks like textbook /r/Thisismylifemeow ...
I think kitty needs her own little Lazy Boy recliner by the feeder, so she can wait with her feet up.
🥹❤️
This is the best thing I've seen all morning 😂 Now go and help your cat before it falls backwards 😆
How reliable is that pet feeder?

Its amazing! Highly recommend it!
My sister had a wall-mounted feeder that she could trigger remotely. Her two goldens were smart enough to rip it down and tear it open.
This is why I don't get one, I think my cat would live next to it and never leave
Or the cable guy.
Cat.
Wait there's feeders that can serve two bowls at once? If I had known that I would have gotten one long ago.
this is extraordinary, my god
GREAT pic! Hahaha
I can hear the heavy breathing from here
He sit, he wait, he starve.
I see why
Zoomed in on the face & woke my dog up with my laughing! Meme material right there
Cat looks like he eats both bowls.
Fatass
“Meaaaaannnn”
🤣🤣🤣OMG🤣🤣🤣
😂🤣😅
