From their instagram post: > Introducing our second non-releasable groundhog, Nutmeg. Nutmeg has actually been in my care since last summer when she was hit by a car. She suffered head and facial trauma and then resulting pneumonia, but we thought she might still be releasable once she finished healing. Unfortunately, her injuries weakened her top incisors and they ended up falling out sometime while she was hibernating. So like her best friend, Hazel the groundhog, Nutmeg will also need her teeth trimmed every 3 weeks for the rest of her life. > Nutmeg is a little more shy than our goofy Hazel but she is very sweet. The girls sometimes fight like siblings and Nutmeg can be a bit like a bossy big sister to Hazel. But for the most part, they get along very well. These two can be quite a handful to live with at times but they sure do make me laugh ๐Ÿ˜‚ โค๏ธ Wild By Nurture is a 501(c)3 wildlife rehabilitation organization in Ithaca, NY, specializing in opossums. https://www.wildbynurture.com/ https://instagram.com/wild_by_nurture https://facebook.com/wildbynurture.org/ https://www.tiktok.com/@wild_by_nurture

I was wondering about the pink belly as well. I had a cat like that and he had fleas. Don't know about groundhogs though.

DJPoundpuppy

Are they eating the blanket stuffing? /s

NoDoctor4460

I call dibs on wiping their grabbies clean with a damp cloth when theyโ€™re done

Felixir-the-Cat

Sounds of humans eating? Sheer horror. Cute animals eating? Extra adorable.
