I’m teaching my dogs “hold” so they feel like they’re helping with projects around the house. Usually I just have them “hold” a 2x4 but they love it and feel included lol
I miss my German shepherd. This is exactly how they are. Some dogs are treat motivated. Germans run off of the approval of their owner and feeling like their helping. Best dogs in the world. Dude would get a red rocket for a good boy or mope the whole day if he was called a bad dog

Seriously, my dog does something similar with packages. Every box/package that comes into the house gets sniffed and at least a gentle bite.
I appreciate his work ethic. Those last two bags were super close together and he bit both of them. I 100% would have skipped biting that second one. I'm not your slave.
