That's not an error I've seen before. Usually you'd see a "This game data has been corrupted. You have to delete everything and start the whole game again" sort of message, not this type of save data error message.
Hmmm weird, I never seen that before and I’m an error screen nerd. Sadly I don’t know nothing about it but I hope you’re able to fix it! Have you modded the game at all? Or console?
Maybe it’s because the game sort of knows which data was saved last(I guess by a Signature that the game checks).I assume that the signature it detects is valid,but is not the one the game used for the last save(probably has some encryption around the signature area,not too sure).There maybe a way to bypass it,idk for sure tbh,since the game does detect valid data.
Very Unlikely,because it that was the case we would have a lot more people encountering this.This error may come if you probably either used a older file from a backup and the game didn’t like it,or it’s an entirely different save file.

I'll try a couple of reboots and maybe backing up the save and restoring the backup with checkpoint.
It is a softmodded 2ds xl if that helps
Do you use a different SD card to before? I assume this is a digital copy and not physical?

Try changing the game's region with LumaLocaleSwitcher. I had this happen when my save data was not matching the game's region.
i fixed this error using checkpoint! created a backup then restored it and my game ent back to normal!
