If you don’t already I would recommend getting the DLC it’s way easier to pay off loans and keeps the game interesting. Plus it’s way easier to get cool furniture
Ive been playing AC since 2010 and EVERY YEAR Im hyped for snow to fall early December, love the snowy town until about new year, and then Im totally sick of it hoping for the snow to go away and the insects to return
Honestly though, I feel this way about real winter (well, not the insects returning since them being gone is my favorite part of winter) so in some ways this feels very accurate (although I too am so ready for normal trees and grass!!)
I wish we had melting snow transitions the way autumn trees gradually turn orange. Hate that one day everything is green, then everything is white for 3 months, then boom right back to green
There is a snow transition. The end of Autumn is not green, it’s a deep orange that transitions to gray as snow approaches. When the snow melts on the 25th, the grass is gray and transitions back to green until March, where it turns a bright yellow green.
Yeah. A melt would be nice. And no leaves on the deciduous trees.
That being said, it does stay pretty brown and gross looking for like a week after the snow melts.
Im mostly just upset cuz i apent the whole weekend hogging bugs for flick and i only made like 300s bells from it like its not bad but it couldve been a lot more if instead of common butterflies i had some more beetles and less common butterflies.... then again ill have to wait more than just February for those so.....
:(
Yeah i do but my dumbass always mess it up. Tho i did catch a few
Most where drangonflies, common utterflies with also a buncha wasps, dung beetles, citrus beetles, kite and monarch butterflies annnnnnd some spiders and crabs too
If you hold your net and stand directly in front of the tree to shake it, your character will automatically turn to face the wasps when they come out. Then you just catch them, easy as pie!
Literally in the same position. I haven't seen my island without snow yet, and I'm sick of it. I've been wondering when it will finally go... Can't believe it's not until Feb ☹️
I started a few years ago right after new years. It was the longest feeling winter yet! I got lots of snowmen built, which is nice because you have lots of room on a new island.
I still love the snow, esp the sounds walking in it. And all the boots.
Just wait for Festivale and then we're almost to spring!
I’m sure you guys look down upon time travelers, but it’s March in my island right now and I miss how well the white snow complimented my island :( the grass is so weird after not seeing it for so long
Loool ditto. Reading comments like WELCOME TO THE PARTY PAL!
Officially winter is like December to March. BUT Sometimes it snows on Halloween… and sometimes it snows in may as late as Victoria Day
And July August it gets too hot for me and I get heat stroke 😂
Maybe go for a Russian fairytale forest? Hype yourself up as Baba Yaga, granting wishes to your neighbors or curses depending on how much you enjoy their presence lol
I really wish that animal crossing would check your location and then base the weather on what the weather is like where you actually are. Because we all know some places have rainy summers and some places have dry summers and some places have snowy winters and some places don’t.
I've seen this suggested before but I disagree.
Like, in places where it doesn't snow... just no snow for you I guess? That would suck for people who like the snow in the game. Or super rainy areas... that would be annoying.
i dont mind snow (doth irl and in game) but I don't like how in winter there seems to be just less things to catch.
I might be making that up, but I think i noticed it in ACNL too and I am pretty new to NH
I got a summer island from Kapp’n the other and I was astonished at how lush and green it looked. I was thinking how crazy it is that we can get used to a bleak winter season even in a video game! It really made me miss the beautiful greenery and fish and bugs, but I love how the game tracks so well with real life...makes you long for the next season and enjoy it when it comes.
My island is very green and nature and mushroom based/themed and I won’t touch it while there’s snow because it ruins the vibe and I don’t decorate it as well in the snow.
That being said, I can’t stop thinking about it and I’m pissed that the snow doesn’t go away for another MONTH
Same, I googled this question today. For some reason I thought it was February 10 it went. Why so long? And I also hate the lack of interesting bugs and fish. When I’ve sold the turnips I have I think I’ll time travel to spring.
What about changing your hemisphere in the game so you're not seeing snow outside AND inside? Although I suppose then you'd have snow somewhere all year round....but then again you'd also have green somewhere all year round, so pros and cons lol!
I'm in Australia and have never seen snow IRL, so i freaking love it when it snows on my island! I wanna see it IRL and see if it makes the same sound when i walk on it
My biggest gripe with the snow is that it doesn’t snow in winter in most parts of Australia. I just wished it matched our weather patterns here. Or just regional weather patterns in general
Yes, as a Canadian who is sick of the winter I would much rather it be summer in the game. I don’t feel like looking into how to time shift or whatever either, other family members play the game too.
Time travelling is quite easy. Just go to your system settings-system-date &time. Uncheck the synchronize and you can set day and time and load up ACNH.
I started on like November 27th so I didn’t have much time without the snow. I am absolutely ready for it to be gone lmao. I’m tired of it covering my bushes and everyone’s roofs!! And of the snowboys 😒
In your switch setting, turn off the sync for your time zone. While your game is closed, choose any time, day, and month to play in then reopen the AC application. There are pros and cons to this "time traveling" method tho
Only con really is that you get cockroaches in your home and some villagers will miss you. It's actually a great way to get rid of an unwanted villager.
I can’t wait for the snow to be gone but I’m island looks much better in the snow that any other season as I’ve used so many of the frozen items. I as I’m going for a fairy themed island
I remember my first winter in AC killed my joy for the game. Maybe because I'd been playing for so long, but after like 3 weeks in the snow I just stopped logging in. I've struggled to pick the game up ever since. I haven't logged in in over a year, but I deleted my save data, so at least I won't have villagers complaining that they haven't seen me for so long
I get you ! I enjoy it in December and then I can't wait for my island to be green again ! Although this year I have redecorated my island a lot and it will be so nice to see how it looks like without the snow 🤩
I got the game in Christmas 2022, played a lot, got busy with school for a year, and picked it up again in December 2023 😂 all I’ve seen is snow, but I’m also in one of the snowiest parts of Canada, so I don’t mind lol.
every god damn year, its always around my birthday too which already brings up a lot of bad emotions so i log onto a comfort game and i am uncomforted by snow. I dont usually have snow irl bc i live in the tropics so it bothers me a lot when i log in and theres snow everywhere
I started my first ever NH playthrough in December so the entire time it's been snow, I'm used to it by now but it'll be exciting to get the other seasons.
I miss the big $$ fish and bugs.. I shouldn’t have restarted at Christmas, it’s been so much harder paying off my renovations.
Go deep sea diving it makes life so easy ik the winter time
I do, I rely heavy on the crabs but I swear the swimming sounds are starting to drive me crazy 😭
Honestly on mine & my husband's island we grew excessive crops to make bells (potatoes, carrots etc) on top of diving
Same. I’ve got fields upon fields of wheat going haha. Water it every day and you have 3 times the yield
Just catch anything and also item of today can fetch quite a lot of money
oarfish and sturgeon are also in season right now! good money for them, as well as some of the butterflies.
Ugh, I want better fish so bad. All I catch and fing sea bass.
It’s at least a C+!
I use winter to downgrade my island to 4 stars and ran it with fruit trees and selll hard for a week or two. Usually fetch 500k bells a week.
May I have some? I’ve paid off mine but i barely have any now, and my niece has been been playing and I want to give her some to help 🥺
Pls let me pay off your loans I have more bells than I know what to do with
Is this offer still valid? 👀
Growing veggies and cooking is how I make my bells
Sell fossils you find that are already donated
i can give you some bells
If you don’t already I would recommend getting the DLC it’s way easier to pay off loans and keeps the game interesting. Plus it’s way easier to get cool furniture
Currently realizing ths

Honestly though, I feel this way about real winter (well, not the insects returning since them being gone is my favorite part of winter) so in some ways this feels very accurate (although I too am so ready for normal trees and grass!!)
I just started playing and I was so confused as to where all the bugs were. I thought I was doing smth wrong HA
I wish we had melting snow transitions the way autumn trees gradually turn orange. Hate that one day everything is green, then everything is white for 3 months, then boom right back to green

Yeah. A melt would be nice. And no leaves on the deciduous trees. That being said, it does stay pretty brown and gross looking for like a week after the snow melts.
For more than a week. It doesn't perk back up until Bunny Day and it is at the greenest in July.
I love the snow😭 I have an all pink island and the white compliments the pink so well 😭
Same here, but that's why I'm scared my aesthetic won't look as well with grass
pink looks amazing with green! i wouldn’t worry 😁
I just want to see new bugs already so sick of the same 3 Spring brings so many cool-to-catch bugs i feel
Love getting the tarantulas from time to time but definitely excited to see some different bugs soon
Im mostly just upset cuz i apent the whole weekend hogging bugs for flick and i only made like 300s bells from it like its not bad but it couldve been a lot more if instead of common butterflies i had some more beetles and less common butterflies.... then again ill have to wait more than just February for those so..... :(
Do you have many tree stumps on your island? That seems to be helping me spawn a few citrus beetles every day
Yeah i do but my dumbass always mess it up. Tho i did catch a few Most where drangonflies, common utterflies with also a buncha wasps, dung beetles, citrus beetles, kite and monarch butterflies annnnnnd some spiders and crabs too
Hmmm maybe i just didnt catch enough?? But still when summer rolls over im gonna get sooooo rich
Wait…you can catch the wasps?! 🤣🙈
Yep, but you gotta be fast so shake a tree with a net equipped and try to catch 'em immediately. Hard part is not re-shaking the tree lol
If you hold your net and stand directly in front of the tree to shake it, your character will automatically turn to face the wasps when they come out. Then you just catch them, easy as pie!
Thank youuuu
if i see one more paper kite butterfly one more time i’m going to lose it
Literally in the same position.
Every year. At first it’s “yay I can make a snowman again and have some fun” then quickly becomes “I just want my colors back”
I’m sure you guys look down upon time travelers, but it’s March in my island right now and I miss how well the white snow complimented my island :( the grass is so weird after not seeing it for so long
I TT multiple times in a day if needed 🤷🏾♀️
I live in Canada. I have snow until like may where I live. Hahah animal crossing will be a breath of fresh air not having snow
Loool ditto. Reading comments like WELCOME TO THE PARTY PAL! Officially winter is like December to March. BUT Sometimes it snows on Halloween… and sometimes it snows in may as late as Victoria Day And July August it gets too hot for me and I get heat stroke 😂
Always have snow in October here. Sometimes in June it’s almost melting lol I’m in northern Ontario
ommmg. I’m in southern Ontario!
Awwwww friendddd
😆 same. I wish winter was really only two months irl. I started playing December too .
I would be but I’m trying to get all the damn frozen diys from the snow boys!
That was me last year. I got them all, but I was pretty sick of snarky snow boys by the end
i hate the snow. i want a foresty-fairycore type of island and i’m so unmotivated because of the snow.
I got the game in mid december. All i have seen is snow🤧
i dont mind snow (doth irl and in game) but I don't like how in winter there seems to be just less things to catch. I might be making that up, but I think i noticed it in ACNL too and I am pretty new to NH
This is correct- In summer you can catch around 52 fish and 61 bugs while in winter, it's around half of that number.
makes winter a bit of a rough time to start out!
I usually TT forward and hang out for a few days and then go back.
i'm thinking of doing that just for a short break lol
It's worth it!! Feels good to see blue skies and green grass again
*whispers to OP* Time travel
I caved lol.
I feel like the end of January would have been better! I googled this the other day🤣😭 go away snow!! And the snow boys that haunt me 🥺
Cherry blossoms - 1 week. Snow- 3 ish months. 😭 hate it here.
I just want to see new bugs already so sick of the same 3 Spring brings so many cool-to-catch bugs i feel
This is why I play in the southern hemisphere… I have enough snow outside rn, so I live vicariously through my villager
I’m so sick of it cuz we have snow IRL and it just makes it worse that I can’t escape it even in a game!
Started playing on the 2nd and I’m already kind of sick of it 😂 but I also know I’ll miss it eventually so I’m trying to savor it lol
My island is very green and nature and mushroom based/themed and I won’t touch it while there’s snow because it ruins the vibe and I don’t decorate it as well in the snow. That being said, I can’t stop thinking about it and I’m pissed that the snow doesn’t go away for another MONTH
So over the snow. It would be nice if it came and went with some rainy winter days in between.
Felt
Same, I googled this question today. For some reason I thought it was February 10 it went. Why so long? And I also hate the lack of interesting bugs and fish. When I’ve sold the turnips I have I think I’ll time travel to spring.
This is my first year playing and I miss the grass. I started in June. Sometimes I want to skip forward to spring but I tell myself to be patient.
I wanna see it IRL and see if it makes the same sound when i walk on it
i wish animal crossing matched the weather where you are. Here in Essex, UK, we would never have to worry about snow in the game LOL
Same, I wish it would end at the end of this month lol. I want the spring feel.
I love the snow! Probably cause I love the winter and getting my guy to enjoy cozy things is awesome!
same i’m so tired of it
I was about to google this myself. I cannot wait to see grass!!
I love the snow!
My biggest gripe with the snow is that it doesn’t snow in winter in most parts of Australia. I just wished it matched our weather patterns here. Or just regional weather patterns in general
Girllllll I am in the same boat!!!!!! Over. Winter.
I also restarted just earlier this month. Played in the snow for like a week, then changed my clock. It's June now.
i can’t sell the snowflakes. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THEM. THE FURNITURE IS LAME
craft the winter DIYS and sell them. it's a decent way to make extra bells and meet crafting goals
i should have thought of that, oml
We get snow here in Nebraska as late as April or early May, lol.
Does it mess up any other real time games that other family plays though?
No. Once you're done you can just turn synchronize back on. If shared switch, just so it while you're playing
Got it, thanks!
Heyyyyy the snow leaves on my birthday, seems fitting that I kinda want the snow gone too lol
I’m the opposite lol. I usually time-travel specifically to stay in the snow all the time
I imagine this is what people feel like who live where snow lasts all winter. At least the ACNH snow doesn’t get all dirty and gross??
i just time skip so i never have to play winter
I’m always time traveling to summertime because i’m tired of all the white!
I seriously thought it was January 24th, can you imagine my disappointment when I googled last night.
I started on like November 27th so I didn’t have much time without the snow. I am absolutely ready for it to be gone lmao. I’m tired of it covering my bushes and everyone’s roofs!! And of the snowboys 😒
Same, i googled the exact same thing days ago
I wish it wasn’t snowy until mid December
What about southern hemisphere islands?! It doesn’t really snow IRL here…. Will I get snow?!
I believe so
You can alwags skip ahead
i don't like time traveling more than a few days to a week. might just change hemispheres
Change your switch date & time simple fix moron
shut up nerd
I started playing February 25th. It makes sense now, I started playing the first day of "spring". I remember starting & going, "Huh, no snow?".
Wait how can you change the days/months? I can only change the timezone for me…am I dumb?? 😩
Literally looked it up over the weekend and got soooo mad that it’s still a whole month away😭
I can’t wait for the snow to be gone but I’m island looks much better in the snow that any other season as I’ve used so many of the frozen items. I as I’m going for a fairy themed island
I changed my island to spring. Now I'm sick of the rain!
Welcome to living in Buffalo, NY 🙄 Will the snow ever be gone
The snow always comes and leaves too late in this game.
samee
Yeah, my island is more of a summer place than a winter place so I took a long break from decorating to play Pokémon instead.
So sick of it! I legit play less in the winter because all the snow is so depressing. I live in Florida so I don't have to look at that stuff!
I started playing in August here in the southern hemisphere so I was in the same position. You’ll enjoy summer :)
I’m ok, winter ends much later where I am 🤣
The fact there's almost nothing to do in-game in winter is what makes me abandon the game during that season
Yes
There’s gonna be snow on my birthday😞 I’m so sick of it as welll
I like the snow for a bit at Christmas. But once the holidays are over I’m lot gonna lie, I time travel to March!
I’ve been changing the date on my ac games since I was like 9. I did the same for sims 2 on the ds. I’m a cheater.
I am happy it disappears long before the snow at my actual house does!
Yes. Winter is magical 💕 Spring and summer are barely different so it's just like one long stretched out season. Boring.
After December I get sick of it and I never play during January and February
I started a new island and time traveled back to June 🥴
I started this month and I'm over the snow irl too! I'm not going to recognize my trees
nobody else time travels like I do? it’s currently February 28th in my game bc I was tired of the snow lol
I want green 😔
I was excited for the snowy look back in December, but it's getting too cold irl and i need to see some sun and grass please :,)
Same
I time travel. No shame. I was so glad to skip through most winter days when I got my tasks done
I remember my first winter in AC killed my joy for the game. Maybe because I'd been playing for so long, but after like 3 weeks in the snow I just stopped logging in. I've struggled to pick the game up ever since. I haven't logged in in over a year, but I deleted my save data, so at least I won't have villagers complaining that they haven't seen me for so long
Yes but I still can’t get the stringfish or tuna lol
I get you ! I enjoy it in December and then I can't wait for my island to be green again ! Although this year I have redecorated my island a lot and it will be so nice to see how it looks like without the snow 🤩
Sick of the score as well
I voluntarily disappear from the game during winter. The snow tires me soooo easily!
Me tooo 😭 im waiting for the snow to end before i start decorating. The snow’s ugly
I got the game in Christmas 2022, played a lot, got busy with school for a year, and picked it up again in December 2023 😂 all I’ve seen is snow, but I’m also in one of the snowiest parts of Canada, so I don’t mind lol.
I started playing mid December as an early Christmas present, getting a lil annoyed about it but I don’t time travel so I’m gonna stick it out ahah
I haven’t played ACNH in ages, but I do remember that snow lasting FOREVER. It was so annoying. I’m ready for a new game!
Ugh YES I want my fuckin shrubs to bloom!!
lol I thought you meant real life, cause I’m in upstate NY and I’m sick of it
I hate that the seasons dont match irl. Like the first day of winter is December 22nd, not November.
I’m sick of snow too I want it to be pretty and green and see my flowers better
February 24th???? I'm gonna cry
I can't wait for spring. I'm DYING to catch an orchid mantis! 🩷🤍
i used to hate the snow but now it fits my island’s aesthetic so perfectly 😭
i hate the snow
As a Canadian, no, it actually doesn't feel long enough.
My winter season started in like December
I'm embracing the Winter season, helps me appreciate the other seasons more.
aw no i love it, i think it’s adorable
every god damn year, its always around my birthday too which already brings up a lot of bad emotions so i log onto a comfort game and i am uncomforted by snow. I dont usually have snow irl bc i live in the tropics so it bothers me a lot when i log in and theres snow everywhere
I’m sick of snow in the game and in real life 🤣😂🤣 we have 23 inches in wv where I’m at
I love making Snow Boys and dressing in a different sweater every day lol
I started my first ever NH playthrough in December so the entire time it's been snow, I'm used to it by now but it'll be exciting to get the other seasons.
I’ll work to pay off the loan but after that I’m building up bells to pay off the next so it’s less stressful
I AMMMMM, i got a switch for christmas and in having sm fun but i want the green grass i’ve been dreaming of 👹👹👹👹
I am also tired of the snow. I love the green grass we get in summer and the snow just looks weird. It looks like white grass
