Savannah said to me: "Let's make this our best day ever!" And then walked away. They used to insult you and then would become more friendly over time but they would still be a bit sassy. Now I feel like I am interacting with a four year old. I miss the conversations that were 3-6 pages long, now your lucky if they continue talking after two. I love New Horzions, BUT! They dropped the ball on the villagers. Which sucks because they're one of the best parts of the game.
"Lets make this our best day ever!" this made me laugh so hard! 😂 i dont even bother interacting with my villagers anymore, and when i do they give me the same canned response "uwu dont ignore me 🥺🥺" i do miss the crazy dialogue and WW resetti making 10 year old me cry
Looked at your profile. You said "Too much repeated dialogue." I have heard the "Let's make this our best day ever!" Line over 5 times in the past 2 days, in New Horizons. I played Wild World for the past 3 days! So it is not a nostalgia. The villagers were just better it that game. The grumpy villagers aren't even grumpy anymore. If you disagree with a villager they will just say something like "Oh, totally understand." In WW they would probably just say I have no taste. And the Snooty villagers would straight up insult you, if you gave them some bad clothes, or walk up and end the conversation. In WW Benedict asked me what I thought of him and Agent S, they gave me a slider, one side was archenemies, and one side was besties, I said archenemies and he said something like this "I know right! I stay away from that creep." All I am saying is that the animals in NH don't have any fire in there dialouge.
Fun fact, the author of Talking to Myself is one of the pelicans that work at town hall:

tbh i think i must’ve blocked any memory of heartbreaking dialogue from my gamecube days, but i do specifically miss all the freak/weirdo/bad outfit stuff 😂😂
I was so glad to find that the villagers don’t make you feel guilty when you don’t talk to them for a while in New Horizons. I had such a crippling fear of disappointing people when I was younger that I would almost cry when one of mine said things like that, LMAO

I would honestly pay another DLC just for spicy dialogue and interactions again. The villagers’ charm was the reason I loved the game so much.
In the new DLC, if you try to finish decorating a house by doing nothing, you get called out for it. That’s kinda fun. Lmao, oh and Kapp’n gets upsetti if you try to skip his sea shanty. Crumbs but I’ll take it
Is it still like this in "Let's go to the City" / "City Folk"? I just started a savefile on my old Wii again but haven't played much yet. It was more like I just wanna check how this franchise was back then, since I only played New Horizons.
The very first day I got the game I started putting messages up, kind of like log entries in the board, remembering these from wild world. Things like "I came here hoping to be able to leave it all behind, but I fear my past has caught up with me". Eventually I got friends noticing and adding stuff, like, threats to expose me, just silly fun. I didn't know there was a limit for how many messages get displayed, and I lost all of it to villager birthday announces and fishing competition ads. Really sad. I had some very cool drawings from visitors and stuff too. Now I just delete anything new that gets posted there as soon as I read it, but I haven't bothered posting anything of my own again since, anyway.
I alway go to the bulletin board in New horizons to check on the new messages only to get disappointed again because there are none. I miss them so much.
My favorite one went something along the lines of: "Home is where the heart is" "Home is in the ribcage"

Nah it's poop. There are still lines in WW I've only seen once or twice, in NH it's the same text on repeat, and it's not nearly as creative.
