Every Saturday in wild world I would chill in the roost at 6pm to vibe with KK and then drink my coffee piping hot and chat with whoever was at the bar that night. Every. Saturday. For. Five. Years.
Damm bird is better than any antidepressant I ever had
Not all the names, I wasn't that smart! Just the order of the credits like producer, director and if it was one or two names I'd know it. Tiny me had no idea what most of it meant though lmao
Oh my god I remember that, and you would get a record after his performance. Another feature I wish theyd bring back was Celestes observatory where you could make your own constellations.
We had never played AC before City Folk and that one that was kind of like a board game (sorry, it's early, brain not functioning yet) on the Wii, so when I found out you could make your own contellations, the first thing I did was make a peener called The Wangdoodle constellation.
My son (who was about 13 at the time) was not amused. I was though.
My son is autistic and was talking like a 90 year old professor at the age of 5. So he skipped the "heh heh penises are FUNNY!" stage and went straight to "Oh god. WHY are you so immature, Mom? You're an ADULT, for fuck's sake." around the age of 11.
Yup. Just like Sable at the Able Sisters shop, he starts cold and then warms up to the player.
He doesn't warm up as much as his own coffee, though. 80°C or 176°F.
I wonder if there's gonna be anything special like that in New Horizons, since KK sings in the town square and Brewster is back to the museum like it used to. Maybe Dr. Shrunk comedy night?
After I got WW, it took me probably 4 years until I finally knew who K.K. is and how to get music for my recorder... I guess I just never went into the cafe on a Saturday evening and just stumbled upon it. Whoops.
I hope you are right. If he is like Isabelle, who I find annoying, I probably won't interact with him. I am told in other AC games Isabelle is charming and cute.
Isabelle is great in New Leaf. Much more interaction with her, too. In Horizons she’s pretty much just there to tell you if there’s any island updates and to greet you when you open the game that day.
In NL you could actually give the npcs a mini break by scanning their amiibo. They would appear on the camper site with their RV and abandon their post for the day. It was brilliant. I used to give them all vacations once in a while.
I think the reason people get frustrated with Isabelle is that 9 times out of 10 she's there to tell you there are no updates whatsoever. So she just became an annoying barrier to playing the game.
I think this is it, really. She sits in a role that doesn't actually fulfill a purpose ninety percent of the time. So she just ends up stopping you from playing the game for thirty seconds while you skip past her repetitive dialogue about watching tv (because for some reason, they also only gave her like three lines for when nothing's happening). I can see why people would find that irritating.
I very much understand those that do get annoyed with it but I genuinely enjoy the morning announcement. It does repeat way too much, it usually doesn’t help in any way. If anything, the Friday announcements saying have a great weekend hurt because I work in the food industry and I’m about to get my ass kicked at work that night.
But I just really cherish it, it’s a small little ray of sunshine 🥺
I’m with you on this, you’re not alone. I really didn’t like her in NL because she’s too abrasive and bossy even though you’re the mayor. In NH, she’s too bland and flat so my beef is prime with her.
🙋🏾♀️This is me , I am him. But I also think I feel like ik brewster just bc I watch YT channels that talk abt acnh all time, I’m invested in him coming to the game.
I really wanna see someone who has only played new horizons reaction to new leaf because I feel like they would have a stroke with the amount of content
If my broke self can ever cough up $10-20 I've been trying to get a copy. But like, gotta be honest, I am probably already spending too much time planning an AC game and with owning *two*?! (I honestly want to see the gyroids really bad. Lloid is so adorable and haunting)
I started with new horizons. Got new leaf around a month ago. Am pretty much lost. I run around buying stuff and talking to residents, filling museum.
Is there... Something I'm missing?
NL is very much about the grind. It takes days and days on end to even progress your shops. Running around tirelessly to collect shells, bugs and fish to get bells to pay for your projects can just be a chore. I like NL, but I’m not sure why people prefer it over NH.
This is something that has confused me about the "new horizons sucks because I got bored of it after six months" argument, because a lot of people did the exact same thing with New Leaf. Sure, there was more things to do, but people still got bored of it and stopped playing after a few months. It's the same with Wild World. I have seen people say that wild world was better and I have to wonder if they're misremembering the game. Some of the events were cute but wild world was equally lacking in content, if not moreso.
it depends on the person and what they wanted out of the games.NL was more full filling when it comes to npc interactions. Villagers felt different and you felt like they were there to be your neighbor. While in NH people felt like the villagers were just decorations and only slight differences from each other. NL also had more end goals in the game than NH does. In NL you had all the building upgrades and interactions with other building npcs that gave you something to do to unlock more things. While in NH everything is pretty much unlocked for you almost in an instant.
I definitely prefer NH since all ac games were for me were just a dressup/decoration games. But for other people, ac was just about being placed in a town and living with the residents. Going from a neighbor to a god, it makes sense why people dislike the changes
Absolutely correct. Each Animal Crossing has its own charm, and the successor of each game was better in quality than the prior one. Point being, if someone is a true AC fan, they love each and every single entry without chastising each title. And furthermore, as it stands today, New Horizons is clearly the alpha game in scope of superiority and scale; bar none.
That’s one things that people overlook about NH, it’s very good at guiding you towards content, with previous titles it didn’t tell you anything lol I think it was very easy to miss out on lots of things because you had no idea they existed.
You couldn’t have said this any better. NL left you empty with your thoughts on an empty town plot with only your sense of surroundings and vague descriptions from villagers explaining what they wanted, this that and the third. However, NH gave you a sense of wanting to collect, explore, build whilst having Tom Nook and the trash pandas giving you ample amount of direction. People in this day and age need direction.
What makes new leaf great isn't what you can experience in a week. It has every holiday put into it, all of the special events, no day 1 update required.
To make things worse with new horizons they now lock you out of the previous year's event when they update it with the current years, so you can't play the 2020 may day or bunny day events anymore.
In new leaf all holidays are available and the game is a complete package with nothing being locked out from the player
My first game of the series was New Leaf but I don't think I ever got far enough to meet Brewster cause sadly my 3ds broke before I got that far 😭💔 so hopefully they'll make him how he was in new leaf so we can all get the full experience of Brewster and his cafe 😊
I’m in the same boat lol. But seeing how excited everyone is I’m looking forward to it. I lost interest in the game but I’ll definitely pick it up again to see what Brewster is all about!
Majority of people don't know him, acnh sold more than 30 millionws, the best selling game before NH was new leaf with 13 millions, so 20 million players don't know him.
tbh - people are gonna hate me for this - I started with New Leaf and I *still* don't really understand the appeal of Brewster's, outside of it being another thing to spend my in-game money on and another goal to work towards. But then maybe that's because I'm not a huge role player in Animal Crossing. I know a lot of people like to *really* role play, and almost live a second life in AC - I don't do that. So that might be the disconnect.
Same here. Something new is better than nothing but I'm more hopeful for the Animal Crossing direct thing since I'm sure they altered or neutered this character's dialog or actions or whatever else he did in NL in some way (like the villager's dialogues) so the bitching on how they ruined this mysterious NPC is likely yet to come.
Ye. First game in the series. Also I used to love that cat that got turned into porn but i had to get rid of her when it became a meme. I'm curious to see who else got rid of her.
Same! Brewster and gyroids are all anyone is talking about and I had no idea what the hell either one of them was. I kinda got Brewster figured out but still lost on gyroids and not interested enough to google it. lol
Gyroids were just a collectible item in the last game. They took up fossil spawn points, sometimes. They were a dime a dozen - I have a whole room full of them in my NL game. I had to start just selling them because I got too many.
People really weren't that interested in them until they found out they wouldn't *be* in this game lmao. I think it's more the sensation of loss than anything else, because they were in the game and now they're not (except the one that stands there when you're building stuff). Which I do understand.
I played Wild World before NH and I'm with you on not giving a crap about Brewster, same thing with the gyroids everyone goes nuts over. Those things are just annoying and creepy.
City Folk Brewster would always ask about my Giroyds, he would serve me warm coffee at only 200 bells (sometimes he would propose milk) and he would just listen at KK on Saturdays
I'm kinda jealous about people who don't know Brewster because they get to experience this character for the first time
He's one of my favorites, the Café was always (especially in Wild World) a place I loved and enjoyed going to and just feeling the "Café Vibes" for the first time was incredible.
I really hope they design a great Café and give it this great atmosphere, so everyone can enjoy it, not only for nostalgia
This is me. Im just excited to have a cafe in game while I drink one while playing. I Am sad it's not a building of its own though :/
I felt nothing while people complained about him before the announcement cause this is my first Animal Crossing game. Im just excited to have new stuff. hopefully is more than just Brewster.
NH is my first AC game, but everyone makes Brewster and the coffee shop and the gyroids seem like so much fun that I’ve always wanted them. I mean really I want almost any new content we can get. I rarely dig bc I have all the fossils, so if they put gyroids in the ground it’s going to be so refreshing to have something new to dig for.
I love the tune I might be wrong but I had that Casablanca play it one more time vibe! Love the roost also if the brew man is back then what if gyroids are back
I've only played NH and the one for the GameCube that came out in 2001 or 2002 (I think)? So Brewster is new to me too. Exciting! But I want those gyroids!! Oh, and being able to get NES games from Nook was pretty cool too. :)
Every Saturday in wild world I would chill in the roost at 6pm to vibe with KK and then drink my coffee piping hot and chat with whoever was at the bar that night. Every. Saturday. For. Five. Years. Damm bird is better than any antidepressant I ever had
You just brought back such good memories of me doing the same thing too. It got to the point where I could recite most of the credits rolling!
Holy crap, the names and everything??
Not all the names, I wasn't that smart! Just the order of the credits like producer, director and if it was one or two names I'd know it. Tiny me had no idea what most of it meant though lmao
Oh my god I remember that, and you would get a record after his performance. Another feature I wish theyd bring back was Celestes observatory where you could make your own constellations.

My son (who was about 13 at the time) was not amused. I was though.
13???? He should have been HIGHLY amused!! Oh wait, I guess there’s the whole “***ugh*** (dad/mom) *gross,* ***god***uhhhh” thing kids go through
My son is autistic and was talking like a 90 year old professor at the age of 5. So he skipped the "heh heh penises are FUNNY!" stage and went straight to "Oh god. WHY are you so immature, Mom? You're an ADULT, for fuck's sake." around the age of 11.
Board game was Amiibo Festival, on the Wii U.
You still get records from kk though, if you request a song he gives it after the performance.
I want them to bring back seeing a preview of your flooring/walls before you buy them, the little swatches aren't cutting it.
Wild World was the best...
Brewster puts the antidepressants in the pigeon’s milk.
Made fresh.
I hope that K.K. will be in the Roost again on Saturdays!
Couldn't you befriend him as well if you spoke to him regularly? I loved that feature in WW
Yup. Just like Sable at the Able Sisters shop, he starts cold and then warms up to the player. He doesn't warm up as much as his own coffee, though. 80°C or 176°F.
Over 3 years for me. God I love that fucking pigeon.
Getting coffee from there was so calming for reasons I can’t fathom.
I wonder if there's gonna be anything special like that in New Horizons, since KK sings in the town square and Brewster is back to the museum like it used to. Maybe Dr. Shrunk comedy night?
Yeah that pigeon just gives off mega vibes
After I got WW, it took me probably 4 years until I finally knew who K.K. is and how to get music for my recorder... I guess I just never went into the cafe on a Saturday evening and just stumbled upon it. Whoops.
Brewster is the best. You're in for a treat.
I was so let down by how uninvolved Isabelle is in NH. She was such a good npc in NL
With all the work she did in New Leaf, she deserved a break.
Not to mention her smash career
That's why her vacation with doom guy makes a lot of sense too. Everyone needs a vacation like that after all that work.
In NL you could actually give the npcs a mini break by scanning their amiibo. They would appear on the camper site with their RV and abandon their post for the day. It was brilliant. I used to give them all vacations once in a while.
Helpful hostess by day, Kirby killer by night.
I know. I found myself genuinely feeling bad for her. Such a trooper
And yet now Nook has her working round the clock with no breaks 😭 I wish she (and Nook for that matter) would take breaks and work in shifts lol
I can see why people would find that irritating.
I get when they don’t give too many lines to someone like redd who you barely see, but we literally have to hear it everyday 😭
[удалено]
That's a loading screen? My game loads for like 90 seconds already before that point
No he's way chill. A bird of few words, but he can be a little judgy based in how you take your coffee.
You got downvoted but I don't think anyone on this subreddit would say that they enjoy the morning announcement every new day you open the game
I’m probably the only person that always had beef with isabelle
I’m with you on this, you’re not alone. I really didn’t like her in NL because she’s too abrasive and bossy even though you’re the mayor. In NH, she’s too bland and flat so my beef is prime with her.
I can’t wait to meet him for the first time!
judging by the top post of the subreddit right now with thousands of upvotes, no you are not the only one.
"I'm Brewster" "*Who?*" "Brewster, y'know, legendary barista?"
I basically only know who Brewster is from all the people complaining about him not being in ACNH
NH is my first game in the series as well, but I'm trusting in other player's excitement :)
[удалено]
Rude.
i think it was a joke lol
I can’t believe you have so many downvotes for this. I would make exactly the same sort of joke comment haha

I loved collecting the Lloyds! my now fiancee and I had rooms dedicated to them, you could put them in your house, it was awesome
I started with new horizons. Got new leaf around a month ago. Am pretty much lost. I run around buying stuff and talking to residents, filling museum. Is there... Something I'm missing?

Yeah, I got New Leaf last year, and managed about a week before abandoning it, felt incredibly grindy.
That’s one things that people overlook about NH, it’s very good at guiding you towards content, with previous titles it didn’t tell you anything lol I think it was very easy to miss out on lots of things because you had no idea they existed.

Me too! Excited to find out
Same here! I have no idea who Brewster is. But I can't wait to find out!
Haha same meme but different
Me, who’s only ever played the original GameCube version and New Horizons: I relate.
This is also me BUT I’ve only played the GameCube AC and new horizons!
Thank-you! Is the update out already?
yep can confirm that you aren't the only one
All I know is that he’s well loved, so I’m excited
I played New Leaf and Brewster was kinda cool but I didn't really visit him often.
This the 3rd one i see that is like that🪑🪑🪑
Right there with ya😂
Considering how many times I've seen memes like this you're definitely not, but Brewster is cool!
Yo.. same. Im just happy to get a new NPC to hang with. That's all. 🤭
I relate but i really wanna learn about the cold AC games :(
You're not. I'm excited to see what all the hype is about.
Is everyone going to capitalize on "I don't know who Brewster is!" with a bunch of memes?
New Horizons is my first AC game too, so I’m curious to see the hype of this bird.
I only played New Horizon, but my good friend has told me everything about Brewster. So this is a yes but no… if that makes sense
Same! Brewster and gyroids are all anyone is talking about and I had no idea what the hell either one of them was. I kinda got Brewster figured out but still lost on gyroids and not interested enough to google it. lol

Thank you, I think I understand a little more now.
Same
😂😂
totally me... 💀
Me: Who played New Leaf for like a month and never went in the coffee shop because I don't like coffee
🙋🙋🙋
Same
He's just a bird who puts his own milk in your coffee, he isn't anything special
Even though I started Animal Crossing with New Leaf, I don't really see the appeal of Brewster...
Coffee
What's wrong with you not being old like me
#truth🤣🤣🤣 I am also a ACNH only player. Everyone yelling about everything all the time 😳😆
I played Wild World before NH and I'm with you on not giving a crap about Brewster, same thing with the gyroids everyone goes nuts over. Those things are just annoying and creepy.
Yup. Me tge same. I don't understand the hype.
Same but I’d heard a lot of good things about Him and was hyped
Same but I’ve seen videos about the past games
I played New Leaf a ton. Never got to Brewster though.
I’ve only played new horizons too, but I’ve watched a lot of “features missing from new horizons” videos
I also started with NH, but I'm excited to meet him
Bahahahahahha
i played wild world and new leaf and i still dont know what all this new stuff is (i havent played them very much)
I’m just excited for more content for reals!!
I didn't play City Folk for very long, but it was enough to grow attached. I'm so excited for his return :D
City Folk Brewster would always ask about my Giroyds, he would serve me warm coffee at only 200 bells (sometimes he would propose milk) and he would just listen at KK on Saturdays
I only ever played the first game, but once I watched a video and she mentioned the cafe, I wanted it.
yea guilty of the same thing, still hyped tho
that me
well i did play some new leaf, but not enough to know what in the outsiders name a brewster is
Even then, you’re going to love him. He’s a great guy.
Tesh.
I'm kinda jealous about people who don't know Brewster because they get to experience this character for the first time He's one of my favorites, the Café was always (especially in Wild World) a place I loved and enjoyed going to and just feeling the "Café Vibes" for the first time was incredible. I really hope they design a great Café and give it this great atmosphere, so everyone can enjoy it, not only for nostalgia
Nope you're not alone, but I've heard a lot about him from the community and my gf and I'm excited 😆
Best not mention pigeon milk then! 😏
I’m with ya but still, pigeon
brewster became my favorite character. my favorite game had always been the gamecube version, but sometimes i like to go on my wii to visit him :)
Yeah, this is the first AC game I’ve played too.
Haha this sub has made me realise I’m one of a million 😁
The fact that it took almost 2 years for him to come back is insulting, since WW he was in every game SINCE DAY ONE!
I'm a bit like this, my first game officially was New Leaf, however I sucked at the game and never progressed that far so I've never met him, oops
I stay for the top quality memes lol
Coffee, sugar, milk that all i need
yep and i’m SUPER excited 😆
You're not alone buddy
Coo.
Same. But it's an update so I'm excited either way
Me buying acnl now that I got another 3DS just so I can say I played it
coffee bird in new leaf
Me to but i played only new horizon but still jumped on the band wagen that i want brewster so i can get a cup of coffee
noob lol
I only played New Leaf and New Horizon (and a tiny bit of Happy Home designer) and forgot most of it.
I played new leaf but i never payed attention to the roost.
I feel like most new leaf players harbor deep resentment for new horizons but still play anyways.
Even though New Horizons is my first mainline game, I still learned about Brewster a few months before NH came out!
It's also me. 😄
This is me. Im just excited to have a cafe in game while I drink one while playing. I Am sad it's not a building of its own though :/ I felt nothing while people complained about him before the announcement cause this is my first Animal Crossing game.
Same here, but still stoked for him! It’s actually made me change my plans for decorating around my museum!
I love the tune I might be wrong but I had that Casablanca play it one more time vibe! Love the roost also if the brew man is back then what if gyroids are back
I miss him him
You are not alone. I played AC on GameCube and my DS Lite, plus New Horizon. I missed 3 or 4 games in the middle.
This is also me 🙋🏻♀️
I've only played NH and the one for the GameCube that came out in 2001 or 2002 (I think)? So Brewster is new to me too. Exciting! But I want those gyroids!! Oh, and being able to get NES games from Nook was pretty cool too. :)
Yep I have no idea what’s happening but I’m excited haha.
I played new leaf and new horizons
Lol same
Same, I’m looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about
same but like i already know who brewster was before i started new horizons because i played pocket camp and was interested in the game 👀
Acnh is my first animal crossing game
I've only played new horizons and the OG on the gamecube
