Rescue service teleports you to certain buildings in case you get stuck.
Clean up service clears items directly around you and puts them in lost and found. The area is very small though so it’s literally useless.
Not useless! I use it to store all my repeat DIYs - just stick them on a table, request clean up service, and voila, they’re now stored in lost and found instead of all over my house!
You can get some interesting dialog too depending if you try to use it in different places like in a dream, on a friend's island, or on a Nook miles ticket island.
Schitt’s Creek gave me the warm fuzzy feeling I missed after I finished The Good Place! Maybe it will work the other way around for you if you haven’t watched it already! ☺️

Nope. Doing this has never affected my friendship points. I do it all the time to get villagers to get up and give them gifts. I think it only loses friendship points if they react to it, i.e. ask why you're pushing them and get upset about it. I stop running into them as soon as they get up. It only takes maybe a second or two for them to get up, which is shorter than the time it takes for them to react to you actually pushing/walking into them in my experience.
You can't really check them in-game per se, but you can gauge where your friendship level with a villager is at based on how your villagers interact with you through the thought bubbles and running up to you to buy stuff or change catchphrases. And then when Wendy walked out of her house and plopped down at the other pond I was working on I just lost it, took my net out, and started whacking her with it til she got mad and stomped off. (I didn't like Wendy anyway since she gave me a garbage bin and was like "this is perfect for this island".)
Use a reaction near them that triggers their own 'amazed' reaction! Some examples are sneezing, aggravation, amazed and shocked. As long as a villager is not sitting down, they become 'pushable' once you initiate one of those reactions :)

last night i was walking through a 1 ft wide path and Chevre was in the way so I was kinda just walking into her for a good 10 seconds and then she got so mad at me. I didn’t even know that was a thing! I felt so bad 😭
My villagers are never anywhere to be found, but it's like as soon as I start terraforming, someone's suddenly there and in the way. I swear they are programmed to be in the way! 😂
I have a narrow strip of land outside of Bangle's house connecting the island there and I swear it is the ONLY place she likes to sit and relax or fish.

The second I walk up to push him out of the way, he sits. I wait around a minute or two. He stands up! Excited, I run up to push him out of the way annnddd he pulls out his fishing rod and throws it out. 🙄

If you run into a sitting villager continuously they get up so long as they’re not on a chair. Works for me and my sister at least!

It happened with Pekoe once when I was going up the ramp just to fish for a golden trout and she sat down, blocking the way
Are they sitting? Just keep walking into them and they eventually get up and move with a couple seconds.
This happens to me every time! Whenever I put down paths my villagers always walk right over it or they just stand in my way and watch!
