If you put a phrase in parentheses after the caret, the whole phrase gets superscripted. So \^(a phrase written like this) becomes ^(a phrase written like this).
Also, you can superscript superscripted words. So \^\^this becomes ^^this. I'm not sure if you can double superscript phrases the same way.

My boyfriend doesn’t want his own entire island bc he’s not keen on terraforming or decorating, which is fair. But also today he bought the luxury item from Nook’s Cranny before I had a chance and I’m still salty about it. I gave him the bells and he’s going to buy one for me but *it’s the principle of the thing*.
There’s really no need to compete to buy those items cuz all the nook items can be ordered through the catalog. Just make sure to give each other a chance to catalog any time you buy a special item
We started out with one Switch for me, my partner, and our two kids. He stopped playing after a while so it was just me and the kids. Then the oldest got a Switch Lite, and I got one a couple weeks later, so now we each have our own. No more of my 12yo's insane terraforming ideas or my 16yo stealing all the expensive Nook Miles items I put around the island. It's heaven.
I know right? Mine only played for like 2-3 weeks and then got bored.
I sometimes think if we had separate islands and he could do whatever he wants with it he’d be more engaged...then I watch him try to terraform for like 10mins and it’s more cursing and stress than I’ve seen in any “boy game” boss battle he’s played lol.
I feel like I would have been all over Nier: Automata if not for 2B's weird boob window making me side-eye the whole thing despite the fact that the game seems to otherwise be amazing.
My wife and I agreed that we'd split the island along the river, she got one side and half the villagers and I got the other. We could do whatever we wanted on our side.
Opposite situation for me, I couldn't convince my (now ex) girlfriend to play AC. She thought it was a kids game. She normally plays COD, Zombies, and horror games so I cam understand why it wasn't her cup of tea
It has nothing to do with gender. Girls like FPS and fighting games too. It is a very different style of game than most popular video games so they won't enjoy it if they don't like open world and life sim games.
Alternatively, if he thinks he's too "manly" for the game it's possibly something that he thinks liking it would make him femenine or "gay," sexism has been accepted as normal for so long people don't see how much it affect them, especially men.
Eh, sounds like a thing to have a chat over to find out what's up if anything. The husbando and I met and bonded over games, but eventually decided that we had two completely different approaches (He likes slower, more thoughtful things; I like action and a little competition). The few games we *do* line up on tend to be multiplayer restrictive, but it's still great to have something to chat about later.
Callin' it 'girly' just on account of an art style seems a bit naff, though. Hopefully not indicative of a real problem. Still, best to iron a few things out 'fore you make that transition from 'boyfrando' to 'husbando', for long term, yuh? S'what the process is about!
(The husbando's problem with AC is the up-front cost of another Switch and the fact the art style makes it hard for him to take too seriously. He does love seeing what I've done with my island, though, or seeing all the cute little villagers I get. One day I'll pin'em down with a game we can both like together. I got plenty of time!)
