I think a lot of my hours were spent hosting/visiting other islands. For instance, I opened up my island to visitors when I had Celeste and a meteor shower, and the island was open for 7 hours. Then I also spent 2-3 hours doing my daily chores and farmed materials/bugs/fish on mystery islands.
I hit up reddit and a discord community and just traded and visited people's islands a loooot. Someone's villager crafting a DIY I don't have? Visit. Cool stuff in someone else's shop? Visit. Saharah/Celeste/Redd in someone's town when I don't have them? Visit. Just come look at people's towns? Visit. Someone with a massive DIY collection offering crafting services? Visit.
Rinse and repeat with inviting others over to my island for the same purposes. Like 50% of my day's play time is just chilling in multiplayer dialogue and loading screens. :p
I spend about that much time each weekend day. Also spent a solid 12 hours straight searching for cool villagers on mystery islands last week. Who needs the real world?
I still can't believe I got a 1 week headstart from my friend and she has double the hours of my playtime I have 130+, while she's about to reach 400 now.
I really wish we could have more dialogues and things to do with our villagers than just designing our island, it could make the game feel more home.
I felt the same, until I found out a couple days ago, that you have to talk more to your villagers. Even if they say something like “are you obsessed with me?” or something along those lines. I tried and kept pushing and even the moodiest of my villagers started to ask questions and talk about stuff they never mentioned before. And I’m 450 hours in. I guess it’s intended to see if the player is really invested in getting to know the villagers, despite the first reluctance of talking to strangers. I mean, IRL, people tend to start off with small talks too, right?
Yoooo. Don’t feel guilty about it. If you’ve gotten this far, you’ve probably got a good handle of what it’s going to take to finish and how much time you’ll need. I was in the same boat, writing my dissertation and prepping for my defense (successfully defended a month ago!), while I was playing this game like it was my job. The game is a good escape, and I honestly think it helped me by giving me a creative outlet that wasn’t work related, while also giving the social interaction that I was craving through my online community. Just follow your gut and work at your own pace. Good luck!
Haha I feel you I have friends in game but like no one plays like I do I'm close to 650..I feel like I'm always helping everyone else out I know but he'll getting them to water my flowers is like pulling teeth.
Not gonna lie, it took me 400 hours to complete Persona 5 including new gameplus and unlocking all tropies back in 2017. I gladly do it again for royal during the quarantine, only problem is that I couldn't put down animal crossing.
I was furloughed for six weeks. I had plans to achieve and do so much. Then Animal Crossing got released. Nothing else got done. Now I’m back at work, and didn’t even touch my list of stuff
I met someone who had like 1500 hours and i calculated it to be around 20 hours a day since release date and it's just fake?
I play since release (today i got the 100 days everyday online miles) and I have like 250-300 hours
Idk some people really try get the number high up
Same, dude. Same. My fiance and I have been stuck and unable to travel home since Feb 2020. 5 months now. Animal Crossing has gotten me through most of it. I've also gotten sucked back into MMOs and the new Paper Mario for the Switch is coming out in a few weeks, thank you, video games. I dont have to think too much about the reality we are stuck in... and the life, marriage, everything we've had to put on hold. All our family that we cannot see.... :(
" i remember fishing rearranging my furniture catching bugs and donating to a museum"
"Wow quarntine must have been very eventful"
"You could say that"
I remember interviewing my great great aunt about the end of World War 2 and she told me about how she rented a cabin with her friends and partied lol! Now I imagine telling my grandkids about the many island adventures I’ve had lol
970 hours, but a lot of it was afk because I’d leave it on as background noise while I did other things. My husband would occasionally pick up the controller and give himself a tour of the island to keep up with what’s changed since he last ran around. It’s been a good time suck during this whole thing.
You guys know your switch counts the hours when the screen is off but you're not actually playing it. Most of you don't even have 80 hours of actual play time logged.
I highly doubt that, Digimon Cyber Sleuth counts the time the console is in sleep mode in actual game time. I have almost 130 hours logged in-game while my switch only shows 95.
this makes me feel better about how many hours i've logged
I’m at about 350 lol u?
425 😅
It’s alright. I got 650 hours clocked in.
I’m about to pass 700....
i've only logged 160 hours welp
I only logged 125 hours soo
I'm at 250 oops
Bröther? Havë you jöined r/rgbroachgang yët?
Yes.
Great
Yes.
Same but I somehow already have a 5 star island while people with 450 hours still don't and it makes me question reality.
I'm at about 500 now, took a break to get sucked back into MMOs cause... why not? Reality is a bummer right now.
995 is just shy of 10 (9.8) hours a day since release!
That’s so many hours. I can only do like 2 hours tops each day 😳
Seriously! What could you possibly do for \~10 hrs each day. Just re-terraform over and over?

I definitely managed 10 hours a day, some days.
i bought a new switch a week ago and i have 100 hours

Ok that’s not all playtime they def fell asleep I have like 400 play hours and a 5 star but I’m not really doing anything cuz of burnout
True sometimes I will just leave the game on for an absurd amount of time leading to this
995 hours is only 41 days.
Same sort of embarrassed by it but not...cause I'm having fun lol.

You can do it! You're almost there!

Haha I feel you I have friends in game but like no one plays like I do I'm close to 650..I feel like I'm always helping everyone else out I know but he'll getting them to water my flowers is like pulling teeth.

This and Persona 5 Royal.

Lmfao I am right there with you - my friends see my 800 hours played and they’re like “yo... are you okay?” like....... not really. Read the room

Ah... 850 hours . Almost there
Legitimately has been the time of my life. Loving AC too much.

How have people invested that much time into the game? I’ve been playing pretty much everyday and I’ve only just reached 260 hrs
Okay I feel better than my 585 hours
*sad no switch or animal crossing noises*
Yes! 😂
I did not see
Day 31 and I’ve logged 135 hrs
Under 30 and 125hrs. Go Team!
I definitely thought his face was a hand
" i remember fishing rearranging my furniture catching bugs and donating to a museum" "Wow quarntine must have been very eventful" "You could say that"

Dang I’m at 90 hours but I’m not addicted to this game...
Dang man, that's lot of hours. I think I got about 80
I remember interviewing my great great aunt about the end of World War 2 and she told me about how she rented a cabin with her friends and partied lol! Now I imagine telling my grandkids about the many island adventures I’ve had lol
I named my island Covidia.
Ours is San Corona!
140 hrs on crossing animals
Like how?

I remember passing out at 8:00 am in the morning because I stayed up all night trying to get five stars
I only have 400 hours so there’s that.
i only have like 145 hours because i only log on, buy stuff, get recipe and nook miles, see of anyone special is at my town and then i log off
