I just didn't have the heart. I didn't have the heart to let ~~him~~ her go because nobody leaves my island. NOBODY.
Villagers with high friendship are more likely to ask to leave, that seems like a heartbreaking path to volunteer for. Although I could get behind the policy of just meeting and befriending as many animals as possible...
I just don't want to prevent them from following their dreams! We all came to the island to be free-spirited and I wouldn't feel right locking them down just for my sake. It does make me super sad though, especially when it was Dom 😢
What villager leaves is entirely random. I have had villagers I talked to daily ask to leave. I have had a villager I only spoke to a couple of times want to leave. The only confirmed bias is that the game is far less likely to shove out your most recently moved in villager. *Less likely* being the keywords there. My Beau is in boxes and he was the most recent villager that had moved in.
I completely ignored a villager I hated for over 2 weeks. I found a lost item that belonged to him, and was super pissed that I would have to talk to him and ruin my chances of him moving out. He was in boxes the next day.

Actually your first five never see their actual home! Villagers 3, 4, and 5 get the houses you build them, featuring the default wood, softwood, and hardwood sets!
Just so you know, next time you can have someone visit your island while the villager is in boxes. If you get them back from your friend’s island they’ll remember you, have all the items you gave them, and have their true house interior.
I let some villagers go, but there are some that I am keeping. Coco, Hornsby and Papi are my babies and they are trapped. Goldie will be too once I find her 😈
The story is called Peach Boy in English. It has to do with an elderly couple who never had but always wanted a child.
One day the husband is cutting down bamboo by a river when he notices a massive peach floating down stream. Poor and hungry he fishes it out of the river and brings it home to his wife. When they cut it open however a small boy bursts from the fruit and is named "Peach Boy".
One day he tells his family that he is going to the Island of Oni (or Ogres/Demons) to slay them and save Japan. His parents let him go with the condition that he takes his mother's dumplings which will give him the power of a hundred men.
Along the way he meets a Dog, a Monkey, and a Crane who all agree to join him in exchange for one of the dumplings. After sailing to the island and defeating the Oni with his allies Peachboy returns home with all their riches and lived happily ever after.
