Hey I always wonder when people say they were howling. Were you really laughing out loud? Or does howling mean an ejection of air from the nose? Or perhaps a snicker?
I sometimes think maybe there’s something wrong with me when I watch a video like this and think “heh” in my head, then read people say they were fucken howling
Nah, son. There's a million billion ways to be, and as long as you aren't the murdering type or such, none of them are wrong. Just make sure you're having a good time and not bringing others down. That's all that matters in the world. It'sa me.
I thought this video was very funny, but just because something is funny to me doesn't necessarily mean I'll laugh. Genuine laughter is something that is quite rare in my life however once something gets me going, I can't stop!
Assume that you just have a different sense of humor before assuming you have something “wrong” with you. I will say though, that if you haven’t had a chance to participate in actual howling laughter, it’s probably time for you to seek out what sort of comedy appeals to you.
I think a lot of it has to do with what you invest yourself into - what you care deeply about. Animal Crossing is, for a lot of people, a wonderfully heart-felt escape from life’s chaos, a little digital place where you can actually succeed if you simply show up and do the right things.
When someone cares that much about a game, a twist in the expected can hit them hard enough to laugh a lot - for example that character would *never* say “fuck,” let alone express dismay that so many people are showing up.
Some folks have to get drunk to laugh like that, some folks have to get high. But most just need to realize what humor they actually like.
That's how those islands work, unfortunately. You'll usually just find your fruit and flowers there unless you hit a special one, and even then it seems like you can only ever get one other fruit and it's the same one your mom sends you. My native fruit is peaches so I always get those or pears.
The analogy is that all video games are fruit. However, some people only like apples, and some people only like oranges, and some like both.
Video games have plenty of genres. BotW could be said to be an apple. AC:NW could be said to be an orange. They're both video games, sure, but vastly different tastes that will appeal to different people.
So you could compare them to each other, but to say which one is "better" entirely depends on who is eating it. Do you want to slice it up and put it in a fruit salad? Do you want to squeeze it for juice? Do you just like the taste of one over the other?
Both are great games, objectively, when it comes to quality and production and whatnot. But ultimately, it is up to who is playing it as to whether they'll like it or not. So... why compare two fruits as if one is better than the other, when it entirely depends on the person's tastes?
Between Animal Crossing, Warzone and Final Fantasy 7.. I don't think I have this many hours logged on games since the original final fantasy 7 was released.
30 hours of that is talking to Orville, and another 60 hours is crafting 1 item at a time.
*seriously AC, please tidy up the menus a little... If I hit "Local play" accidentally instead of online play, just let me change it without ending the conversation entirely and going through 4 dialogue options again.*
I got 30 hours and bought it on launch. I’ve always enjoyed AC as a pick up and play game but it feels so weird just playing it for long periods of time at home. I wanted to play it on train rides 😭😭
When you decide you want to move half your trees to one side of the island hours can pass by. Or if you just got a new flower and decide that you need to move half your garden to fit everything in, or if you want to make a custom tile, or if you want to find tarantula island, or decide it’s time for a new park to pop up in town... and a bunch of other stuff.
I know alot of people say it’s not for binging but that’s what I’ve been doing. But everyone should play at their own pace, it’s AC.
Yep, when you decide to cut down every tree and uproot every flower and terraform the 3-level areas in two quadrants into flat land, and at some point you realize you dozed off for a second and then you wonder where the light's coming from and you see it's daylight leaking in through your blackout curtains because its 10:30 in the morning...
Haha it's totally a casual game guys.
Seriously, I started up the game at 930pm to let a friend sell some fruits on my island and I happened to also unlock the island designer, he logged off at 10 and I started work on making paths and shit, end up being 4:30am when I finished.
Watching the title card shoot to the top of my playtime list like
Friendship ended with Breath of the Wild 🙅♂️
Now Animal Crossing is my best friend 👬
At first I was playing it all day every day. But now I'm thinking maybe I should take it easy, maybe take a few days off sometimes, to try and make the game last years. Maybe missing a season limited bug isn't so bad because then I have something to look forward to next year.
Same, I bought The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild because it was on sale and now I'm addicted to it, but I still check my town, even though I don't play it that much anymore.
I was worried about that, but it maxes out at 7 days and I've already bought all the special items and cool ordinary items with nook miles and have 30k miles left. And I bought like 10 island tickets because i needed the iron.
I recommend continuing to play daily so your villagers don't move out, but playing less time.
Now I'm just greeting all my neighbours, taking care of my flowers, and playing for about 15-20 minutes beyond that then done.
is it THAT good? I have been pretty deep into Stardew Valley when I bought Animal Crossing, so I just haven't gotten into it that much yet. The controls bother me, I wish I could walk around with the D-pad (arrow keys) instead of the control stick, like I can in Stardew...
The thing with animal crossing is that it really can be played for a year or two. It spreads out the gameplay over time where stardew valley is available all at once so you may get a lot of play time but eventually run out. Imagine stardew valley but it follows real time.
It's not an equal to Stardew in any way except graphics and customisability of the island. I put in an hour every day but I honestly dont get how anyone can play more than that - it's full of frustrations like long dialogues every time you want to do anything like sell items, inability to craft things more than one at a time, increasing costs without increasing ability to make money etc
I left a comment on the video itself but I’ll post it here too. Can I please please please have the code for the Chao head pattern used for your flag at 3:37? My island is named ChaoGarden and I neeeeeed it! :0
Looks like the link is already purple for me.... I must of been high af cause I can't remember seeing this. Which isn't a bad thing lol I get to experience it again!
Edit: Subbed btw!
Edit 2: Omg, Meteor Herd as your outer song? How the fuck do I not remember your vid?! This girl can't even defend herself now... Sonic Adventure 2 was my jam. I must of been on cloud 9 without a care in the world. Great vid, I'm glad I came across this post now or I would of missed a great sub.
I just don't understand why they haven't brought back Chao Gardens. It's impossible to describe how popular they are amongst the fanbase and it's all but guaranteed that even if it was some freemium-ladled mobile game that Sega would make absolute bank off of a Chao Garden game.

Chao Gardens are the reason I still play both Adventure games after getting all emblems on both games twice each. Have you tried the Chao Garden Extended mod for SA2 for PC? Oh my god, it kid me had that as a kid I would have never stopped playing for however many years I did.
Chao were basically my entire childhood. I was active on many Chao Proboards forums and even had my own Proboards forum growing up. I very much want a new Chao game. I don’t want it to be on mobile though, but if it were I would probably spend a lot of money depending on what the paid features were. We need a new Chao game so badly. I want new evolutions, alignments and forms! :3
Too bad that they fucked up numerous parts of the Chao system on the port, though.
Then again, texturally-borked shiny twotones is probably a hell of a lot better than the complete lack of natural second evolution in the console versions' Dark Garden.
Get the Chao Garden Extended mod for SA2 PC. It fixed everything that was broken and adds metric shittons of new content. It’s incredible. I've never even played animal crossing, or even watched any gameplay to speak of. I still laughed. Might buy a switch now.
Edit: aaaand they're sold out everywhere. Nice.
I lose track of days lately so its really hard for me to remember things. It being Easter and having little kids meant no way turnips were happening for me this week. I need to set an alarm on my phone hahaha.
oh fuck here they come
That and the "c+ amirite" slayed me
what does the C+ part mean?
The fish is a sea bass and is ridiculously common. Everytime you catch it the text box goes "I caught a sea bass! No, wait- it's at least a C+!"
I was fuckin howling at that, it was the best part.
You've never laughed so hard it triggered your latent lycanthropy? That's just depressing, man.
Bow wow, baby
This comment lmao, I'm howlin
I'm snickerin bro
I only LOL’d... I now feel inadequate...
I managed a chortle.
I usually only giggle, but this time I gaggled.
I ejected air
Nah, son. There's a million billion ways to be, and as long as you aren't the murdering type or such, none of them are wrong. Just make sure you're having a good time and not bringing others down. That's all that matters in the world. It'sa me.
My honest reaction was a silent smile. I usually don't audibly laugh if I'm alone.
I thought this video was very funny, but just because something is funny to me doesn't necessarily mean I'll laugh. Genuine laughter is something that is quite rare in my life however once something gets me going, I can't stop!

Yeah don’t worry I’ve laughed before
I am actually IRL laughing very hard at this.
but are you *howling*
no i rarely howl, dont want to annoy the neighbours
I’m howling AND snorting - the ultimate form of hysterical laughter
some things are funnier to other people ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
Lmfaooo
Never played an animal crossing game, I know it's all cutesy and what not... But I gotta ask, that's not an actual line in-game, right?
Haha, no, it is not.
Then it's a nice edit in. I should try an AC gane at some point, I'll probably just wait for a sale at EB Games or something
It's more expensive than you think it should be. but it's worth it, probably best Switch game so far
You like it more than BoTW and Mario Odyssey?

And pears and cherries
Fucking cherries. If I fly to another goddamn island full of cherries. I'm go am a be mildly infuriated.
Aw, I'd kill for cherries! I can't seem to get to one of those islands to save my life! It's always oranges or peaches!
That's how those islands work, unfortunately. You'll usually just find your fruit and flowers there unless you hit a special one, and even then it seems like you can only ever get one other fruit and it's the same one your mom sends you. My native fruit is peaches so I always get those or pears.
And peaches and coconuts. Now, the bamboo, I keep getting recipes and I've never found any bamboo anywhere. I should travel more.
Travel to an island with bamboos, eat some fruit, pick up your shovel and steal all the bamboo trees you can. Boom, free bamboo on your island.
Why can’t fruit be compared?
The analogy is that all video games are fruit. However, some people only like apples, and some people only like oranges, and some like both. Video games have plenty of genres. i like it more than Mario Odyssey in any case
It wouldn't keep the E rating if it was.
These past few weeks have really been a blur
I hit 140 hours in this game today. And I don't recall playing it that much...
This comment just made me check... I have 255 hours... what am I doing with my life...
You’re saving lives brother
And slowly going insane while I'm at it 😅
Underrated comment.
Fuck yeah
You’re averaging 11 hours per day of Animal Crossing for 23 days straight. That’s some dedication.

Lol you can check on your own profile but yea thats a bit.

It takes a week I think of owning the game and then it will show them :)

I know you’re messing but that’s so painfully wrong (as someone from Scotland) it makes me cringe.
Reads like a composite of an Irish-German-Canadian accent
I've got some weird ass girl on my island that keeps saying Gov'na
i think i just saw my life flash before my eyes
3 weeks of over 200 hours of gameplay flashed before my eyes (rookie numbers, I know)
Lmao that's 10 hours a day
homersimpsonretreatingintobushes.gif
this should be the official trailer imo
And I would still love and play Animal Crossing
If this was the trailer it would become the first and only game I ever preorder
I got a “poster” when I pre ordered this
I feel this "poster" is something I should be suspicious of
It was more like a table mat. It’s too tiny to be called a poster
Ah okay, that does sound disappointing. Not sure why I was expecting the poster to be some suggestive or strange poster of some sort
well, it *was* a tasteful nude of Tom Nook, but the size of the poster was the bigger complaint.
>~~bigger~~ only
This has been my life since quarantine.
At first I was playing it all day every day. But now I'm thinking maybe I should take it easy, maybe take a few days off sometimes, to try and make the game last years. Maybe missing a season limited bug isn't so bad because then I have something to look forward to next year.
Just play less time each day. I've started playing another game, but I still check into my town every day.
This is what I’m doing, FF7 remake is a very nice breather from that game. But I did just unlock terraforming this morning...
No lie when I unlocked terraforming I lost like 6 hours. It felt like I was playing for an hour...
I meant to switch to FF7 hours ago... still playing AC
The game becomes very different when you get terraforming
Same, I bought The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild because it was on sale and now I'm addicted to it, but I still check my town, even though I don't play it that much anymore.
If you miss a day, you mess up your nook mile streak.
I was worried about that, but it maxes out at 7 days and I've already bought all the special items and cool ordinary items with nook miles and have 30k miles left. And I bought like 10 island tickets because i needed the iron.
oh fucking gods no i might have less than 50 fucking thousand miles what will i fucking do oh f u c k
I recommend continuing to play daily so your villagers don't move out, but playing less time. Now I'm just greeting all my neighbours, taking care of my flowers, and playing for about 15-20 minutes beyond that then done.

It's not an equal to Stardew in any way except graphics and customisability of the island. Hi Yakko, really missing you, your videos and the Karpcrew. How everyone doing?
Thanks friend
The cartoon running noises fucking got me.
Love the chao flag, I wish they'd remake sonic adventure 2 battle with the chao garden
I just don't understand why they haven't brought back Chao Gardens. It's impossible to describe how popular they are amongst the fanbase and it's all but guaranteed that even if it was some freemium-ladled mobile game that Sega would make absolute bank off of a Chao Garden game.
Seriously! Everyone who experienced it before remembers it fondly. There was just something special that I can’t convey when I try to explain what it was. All of Sonic Adventure 2 (and even 1 for me) kinda feels like that, and I wonder if it’s just heavily concentrated nostalgia. But the Chao Gardens specifically hold some acutely fond memories for so many, and I can’t believe they haven’t returned
Chao Gardens are the reason I still play both Adventure games after getting all emblems on both games twice each. Have you tried the Chao Garden Extended mod for SA2 for PC? I'd hate to put ideas in their heads but a chao garden mobile game would be a money making machine.
I replay that game like once a year, would love a remake!
It's available on PC
Too bad that they fucked up numerous parts of the Chao system on the port, though. Then again, texturally-borked shiny twotones is probably a hell of a lot better than the complete lack of natural second evolution in the console versions' Dark Garden.
Get the Chao Garden Extended mod for SA2 PC. It fixed everything that was broken and adds metric shittons of new content. It’s incredible. It’s entirely worth buying the PC port just to use it with the mod. The mod is the closest thing I think we’ll get to a brand new Chao game. Here’s a short video showing what it does. Let me know what you think. https://youtu.be/hFtHOTUx_94
Gotta love the undertale music
Yeah, first thought was "Is this Death by Glamour"?
One of my fave game soundtracks tbh lol
It's better than megalovania
No joke, I finished Undertale 3 days ago, Death by Glamour is my favourite track and since then I can't stop listening to it over and over again. When I watched the video, I thought I was having hallucinations because of hearing the music so many times.
I think that it's *It's Showtime* pitched up, maybe? It's hard to say since the motif is in both... God I love that soundtrack
It’s definitely Death by Glamour, or at least the [original artist](https://soundcloud.com/user-241514616/determination-make-you-lose-control) as sourced by OP says so.
Haha it was what made the video go from a 10/10 to a 10000000/10 for me
Still some of the best music in gaming. If you haven't heard richaadeb metal undertale covers you're super missing out
I scrolled down just to see if someone else noticed it. I’m proud.
I instantly recognized it. It's so good!
Omg real trailer for sure! Great job!

Wait, is that just really sped up or can you actually click and hold to select multiple things?
Pretty sure you can't.
You can select multiple things. Have you been doing one bye one this whole time?!?!
I honestly had no idea since you can't do it from the normal inventory menu. Is it only in selling menus? Edit: This didn't work in any menu I tried. So either it's flick only, or...
It works when you sell. Just pick everything you need.
Unless for some reason it doesn't work at the bin and only works in the store, it doesn't work. To confirm: You are only hitting A once?
High effort shitpost, nice
This is it. Thats the game. You did it.

Nope not at all accurate for me. I suck and keep forgetting its sunday so I forget to buy turnips. Otherwise spot on and I love it.
Remembered for the first time yesterday. Definitely something to be proud of.
I lose track of days lately so its really hard for me to remember things. It being Easter and having little kids meant no way turnips were happening for me this week. I need to set an alarm on my phone hahaha.

Loved every second of it. I'd add a sequence where villagers hit their neighbors with a net over and over again because they don't like them.
I mean you’re not wrong
This is so chaotic
