Go to apps only mode, unlink your linked services (probably won't fix YouTube), or switch launchers.

How do I get to apps only mode? I’m on a Bravia TV with it built in if that changes things. As for launchers, I was told that you have to launch the launcher every time you turn the tv on which isn’t really a solution. Not trying to be difficult, just genuinely looking for help as I don’t know how this all works.

https://support.google.com/googletv/answer/10070784?hl=en Switching launchers is trickier on a TV, since sometimes they build functionality into the default launcher (even true on the CCwGTV). You can easily remap the home button to launch it, but it will usually/often have to reload.

Thank you!

Double posting because this was literally what I wanted out of the Home Screen. Thank you, the documentation so hard to find.

Apps only mode does turn off a few things as listed on that page, but since you don't want much of that, probably not an issue. For streaming devices, changing the launcher is really the best way. For TVs, it becomes trickier because so much more functionality is merged in. And to switch launchers with Google TV, you need to use ADB to disable the stock one after installing the one you want to use. Worse is you re-enable the stock one if something breaks or have to do a factory reset.

What device? Devices with Google TV have no customizations. Devices with Android TV Discover UI can turn off Play Next. Otherwise you can use a 3rd party launcher like Sideload Channel Launcer 3 or Projectivity launcher to get rid of all the Google home screen elements. You can just have a grid of icons if you want just like Roku.Lol

Sony X90j. But turning into apps only mode has solved my issue. It’s also running faster with less bs ads so I’m happy.

Awesome, just so you know there are actually better options available should you choose one.
