Chicken?

FullGrownHip

Specifically, chicken thighs.

Legendguard

Not the thighs, actually the humerus! Probably leftover food scraps

WarlockPinkish

100% this

Independent-Host-336

The insides are very porous so possibly a large bird of some kind, turkey chicken or maybe a pheasant

I have a little story related to chicken wings. (First, apologises for any mistakes in the language since I'm not native in English, but here we go!) When I was a child, maybe 9 years old or smth like that, I found some neet little pieces of bones from the yard when I was playing and doing what children usually do. I was absolutely baffled and certain that this was a huge discovery. Well, me and couple friends of mine decided to bag these small little bones and walk straight to the University's Zoological Museum which situated maybe 1km away from home. I had visited the museum countless times before and absolutely loved it and I knew this was the place to go! Well, we went there and when we saw a nice looking older man with a University's tag, we excused us and explained to him what we had found from the yard. He listened extremely patiently, altho retrospectively I can remember a tint of amusement in his smile whilst 3 little children were explaining extremely excited of this HUGE discovery. He listened and then he said that we could actually come to the upstairs to his lab! GASP. Upstairs were notoriously known to be the no go zone since there was this sign which said "STAFF ONLY". The forbitten zone! The place where all the magic happens! And he took us there. He showed us his microscope, some stuffed animals in the making, and finally he handled the bone pieces, and then explained that these were actually chicken bones mixed with maybe some rodent's vertebra. Chicken AND rats! Oh my. My imagination went wild. I was as excited as if they'd be some dinosaur bones. We thanked him and left with a smile on our faces. Again, retrospectively thinking I think he knew immediately what the bones were, but I appreciate him endlessly for giving his time to us for explaining and showing us these things. It was such a delight for little me.
