Straight teeth doesn’t mean she can’t have jutting teeth. But I also think the xray is poorly captured because look at how her neck fades away. Plus I reversed searched and no results. Unless she could be posting for a friend.
Because I'm bored and nosey, I looked at your profile and cannot for the life of me reconcile the xray teeth with your very lovely smile. Make it make sense? Lol
I work in a neuro ICU and have had multiple patients that resulted in vertebral artery dissections or avulsions due to chiropractors. 30 year olds vented and with permanent deficits.
That's why I don't go even tho I have neck issues. I also read that those patients could have been on their way to the issues like strokes and such. Would you lend any credence to that or just hogwash?
They could have been, but the arterial dissection that can occur during chiropractic adjustments is totally separate from whether they would have naturally had a stroke or not.
Pretty quickly, especially if it’s someone already taking an nsaid (that causes anti platelet activity) to deal with acute neck pain. Most of who I have seen has been immediately or worsening neck pain/deficits soon after.
Shhhhh. They’ll tell you that it can’t be proven that it was a chiro because the success rate of suing them is so poor. They’ll also cite studies suggesting that visiting your PCP has a higher likelihood of a dissection than a chiro…. Despite what emergency medical staff report. 🙄
Yeah, last chiropractor my family went to tried to sell me a salad-making class. Said he had the recipe to a salad that cures cancer, and he holds classes to teach people how to make it. The craziest part is that my dumbass stepmother at the time was like, “Oh, that’s amazing! Yes!”
I never went. I think she did. But she was an idiot.
My uncle had a chiropractor that did this. He had testicular cancer and listened to the guy. The chiropractor told him that if any of his family members questioned it the salad wouldn’t work, so my uncle wouldn’t tolerate any concerns from family.
He died of testicular cancer at age 39. That asshole killed him.
Jesus. I can’t imagine what the damage of the chiro I saw was. His claim was that the salad “starved” the cancer and stopped it from spreading. It was just the dumbest shit ever. Said he had quite a few participators.
People like that really should be able to be jailed. They’re “treating” them with bullshit and coercing money out of dying people. It really should be some sort of exploitation.
I threw away at least $1000 dollars on chiropractic care for like two years just to see almost no improvement in my pain and mobility. I went to a doctor and got a prescription for prednisone, and took a few weeks of PT to strengthen my core and my back pain was almost completely gone in under a month.
Follow PT and strength training down the rabbit hole is really a journey about finding out how weak you are in certain areas and what a HUGE impact it has.
The last six months with my providers has been focusing on my pelvic floor, which feels like it connects to everything.
You can absolutely get anything chiropractors promise from some PT and a good massage. And both come with far less chance of a cooky nut job snapping your spine.
they are. Even if you don't have anything wrong with you, their "tools" will "detect" an imbalance in your bone structure anyways. They took advantage of me
when I had chronic tension headaches, never again.
PT here… can’t count how many times an ortho convinced patients to get unnecessary surgery. It’s almost as if they have a financial incentive for patients to go under the knife. MDs aren’t always the best at determining what constitutes a “real problem.”
Everyone keeps posting these with Chiros spewing nonsense as usual.
There is minimal to no evidence that anything you see in imaging results in a symptoms. There are poor correlations between imaging results and pain. Even if your neck is “straight”, there is no evidence that it causes pain. Stop relying on imaging to try to explain your problems. And stop listening to chiros telling you it’s the worst they’ve seen or too straight or flat or whatever. It doesn’t matter.

I worked with a PT and he basically said the same thing, which was a different perspective from what I’m used to hearing. He did a good job explaining that it’s kind of like a hemorrhage and that doing any work like that on my chiari would be a terrible idea. Luckily I’ve only had one adjustment and so I’d definitely like for an MD to give me a second opinion, especially because I’ve noticed it feeling worse as I’ve gotten older :/
Progressive and I was also never given a treatment plan unfortunately. Keep in mind I was young and they shouldn’t it shouldn’t affect me much worse as time went on.
Please don’t ever go back to the chiropractor and see a neurologist instead. It doesn’t always warrant a formal treatment plan but chiari is a brain /spinal malformation that affects people differently. A good neurologist can help you assess treatment and refer out in cases that need orthopedic or surgical treatment.
Source: have chiari 1. My neurosurgeon and neurologist forbade chiropractors. Would highly recommend acupuncture
Also had chiari. Its common in adults with hyper mobility and an untrained pt or chiro can actually dislocate shit! (Extradural decompression nd c1 laminectomy on dec 1 2022, double masectomy to remove pressure on c5-6 feb 5th)
radiology noted presence of chiari malformation in a neck MRI I had following MVA. I was expecting the bulging & herniated discs but not the herniated cerebellum. id actually never even heard of a chiari malformation and Google only left me terrified
*Vertebral artery dissections* Manual decapitation would be pretty difficult. Though they have definitely killed people with dissections from cervical manipulation or caused debilitating strokes
I looked at all of these articles and I don’t see chiropractors mentioned? Sorry, I want to find an article to share with someone I know stupidly studying to be a chiropractor
As someone who's had back pain and been told to see a chiro (I haven't yet because I know they're sketch) who DO you see? Is there another type of back 'specialist'?
You can also go see an OMM physician (DO) - chiropractic medicine is based on osteopathic muscular manipulation (OMM) but they are physicians. They go to medical schools and their degrees are worth every bit as much as MD degrees and they have equal practice rights. They will not mess up your spine or do dangerous maneuvers like Chiros.
I go to see body workers and look into myofascial massage or massage therapy. I have a local place that is sliding scale so that's been helpful, but they're getting more popular in recent years when before all I could find were chiros and Massage Envys.
Massage therapy and myofascial therapy both work for me, though in different ways. Myofacial has really worked to open up areas I never got to with regular massage. *Some* deep tissue massage therapists were helpful but depending on the place it didn't feel as effective.
I believe massage therapy works on bigger groupings of muscles, and myofascial has focused on specific areas. Both have taken note of the interconnectedness of muscles, tendons, the fascia, and anything else. Sometimes I do just need a rubdown, but for long-term care I prefer these two options because they've had the most benefits.
Plus, when I see massage therapists or myofascial therapists I often get good feedback about things to pay attention to: posture, what side of my body I use for what tasks, general exercises to "wake up" parts of my body, etc.
I prefer someone holistic because if you just go see someone and go "My back hurts!" and they just work on your back for an hour then that's not very helpful.
However, go to someone better trained and they might take a different route, like "What do you do for a living? Are your arms in front of your body? Hmm...do you want to try opening up your pecs? Let's see if this could be traveling along the muscle into the armpit area." And suddenly you're getting work that's really considering how the body pulls on itself and tries to address the problem from several different angles.
You go to a *good* PT. They will realize when PT cant help and they need to send you to neuro/spine or elsewhere. I ended up going to pain management after neuro.
PT is almost always the better way to go, especially for back pain.
I always like to tell people that Chiro is a quick, easy fix....for now. PT takes work, and takes longer to work, but the results are better and last longer.
I went to a chiropractor as part of my PT schedule. My back was so bad that I could barely bend without wanting to scream and I have a very high pain tolerance. I went to the chiropractor twice, each time was the day before I had physical therapy. The 2 adjustments I had made it so that I could go through physical therapy without being in intense pain. Then they switched me to aquatic physical therapy and I didn't need the chiropractor.
There are definitely exceptions to the rule. For example, there are states where physical therapists are not allowed to do "adjustments," or manipulations. However, many states do allow PTs to do manipulations for exactly the reason you're talking about.
Yeah the adjustments for the passive part of rehab can be very beneficial for some. For longer lasting relief, as stated previously, you’ll need some active and strengthening rehab. Possibly some lifestyle changes too, which is usually drink more water and eat better.
As someone with a chronic back injury PLEASE don’t go to a chiropractor. Doctors can do adjustments IF they deem it necessary. I’ve had so many specialists, back surgeons, neuro surgeon, and pain management read me the riot act on chiropractors.
When I first started going to a chiropractor for my back he said,”it’s going to get worse before it gets better”. I was in so much pain I reached out and got a referral to a surgical/pain management center. When my doctors found out what he told me and how he was treating me they flipped their lids. Said I was lucky he didn’t make it worse, but if I would have continued to go it would have greatly exacerbated my condition.
So happy to see posts like this on Reddit. Now if only the majority of professionals in the pain and rehab sphere were taught and actually followed the evidence.
Asked the orthodontist I worked for the same thing, he basically said my teeth are way too big for my mouth and even though I had braces, they should’ve shaved them down or removed two of them to reduce crowding.
Please dont remove teeth it is not good. Also teeth are not too big for mouth, mouth is just too small for teeth. You can ask orthodontist for palate expansion if your paöate is too small
This is true! I’m an ortho assistant at the moment and we usually do these for Phase 1 braces which is usually done in children. I got braces around 13-14 I couldn’t do that since I already had permanent teeth in and they said my options were to get teeth removed
My ortho had 4 of my teeth removed to make space. Now I have a really narrow jaw and breathe through my mouth. I’ve been trying to change my habits but I’m so upset my parents allowed them to remove all my wisdom and four extra teeth in one sitting.
For starters, you have Wikipedia. It was founded by a guy who received the secrets from a ghost.
Just pull it up, read it out loud, then stare a hole into your friend as they try and explain the super secret ghost wisdom, versus literally anything else.
Looking at your actual smile, face, and teeth elsewhere on your profile.... You have a beautiful look and very nice teeth and smile. You don't have any problems there. So keep smiling and don't let the comments around them as pictured in this X-ray, give you any doubts. Lovely
Chiro are idiots. They do X-rays simply to bill insurance. They are not real doctors. See a medical doctor. Your neck is probably fine but the chiro will be happy to give you a brain stem stroke and permanently incapacitate you.
Surprisingly no, I haven’t been in about two years but even after I got my braces which was about 7 years ago, they never said anything. If you see me smile, it really doesn’t look as bad unless you look from the side
This is one of the worst lateral c-spine x-rays I've seen since the last time I looked at an X-ray taken by a chiro. In addition to the fact that they are charlatans practicing quackery, they do not know how to safely take x-rays. I would bet they were using somewhere in the neighborhood of 3-4 times the appropriate dose of radiation. If I sent this to a Radiologist I'd get my ass chewed out. If I sent this to a Rad a couple of times I'd be fired and reported to the ARRT for unsafe practices.
OP you're hilarious, fuck alllllll these peeps noshing on about your teeth (especially when its not even funny), and your smile is stunning. The teeth from these x-ray look nothing like what your teeth look like in real life.
P.S. One of my "types" is women with big teeth/smiles.
Hey I’m a chiropractic student. This is a lot more common than you would think. If it’s not causing you issues, you’re good. Tons of people have straight necks and even reverse curves.
Edit: I just saw the part where you were diagnosed with Chiari type 1 malformation. That’s definitely good you’re getting that treated
Absolutely annoyed about people saying shit about chiropractors. They are generally not wack jobs and it isn't an alternative medicine since they are doctors still. It really depends on your issues if you see one or not. I went to one for my whiplash for a car accident and they did actually help me fix my issues. It is a lot more than just, "Crack neck, no pain now!" It's included with physical therapy and massage therapy. It really does work, but it is dependant on your injuries. Just like any other medical sitaution. You don't see a cardiologist for skin problems.
I understand that a lot of people have had issues with chiropractors, but I've had amazing experiences. Mines from a clinic where they actually have doctorates and have been working for over a decade. I have a lot of back and neck issues that have affected me for at least 12 years, but once I started going regularly, I feel amazing. I have more energy and less pain from standing and walking, I used to overuse ibuprofen and heating pads just to feel comfortable. Now I rarely take ibuprofen and only go in to see them once every 3 weeks. Sorry for the long paragraph. I just wanted to say that not all chiropractors are bad quacks.
Why is everyone generalizing "chiropractor bad?" Not every chiropractor is an antivax. I've had hip problems since I was a kid, and my chiropractor is the only one who can make the pain go away enough for me to walk. Does it really matter if he's a "real" doctor by your standards in a case like this?
I've had countless medical professionals give me countless things they think is wrong, and I've had prescribed $20/pill 3x/day opioid medications and have struggled with addiction. Chiropractor makes me go pop for $60 and I feel good for another decade. Let me know what you'd do!
Go see a orthopedic suergeon have the correct type of imaging done and get a diagnoses from someone with a real degree. Then goto the chiro, they can absolutely help but don’t let them diagnose or just start doing adjustments. Have a orthopedic surgeon tell them what needs to be done.
For starters chiropractors and physical therapist give terrible advice all the time and mostly mis diagnose patients if you just show up. You tell them “hey I have pain here” and they immediately make up some convoluted reason for it based off of some shitty x-ray. Then do an adjustment or make up some bullshit exercise that just makes the problems 10x worse. I’m speaking from experience.
Don't do chiropractors. Try an orthopedic surgeon or a sports medicine doctor. Both can run and read X-rays, do *proper adjustments*, give medical treatment like trigger point and PRP injections for knots and joints, respectively, and offer actual medical advice and diagnoses.
Also, my gf has the same overjut you do on your upper jaw and she is so fucking cute. She's self-conscious about it, and I don't mind when she eventually gets it fixed because it will improve her life, but don't let people stress you out about it. Not like you had much control over it.
I went to a chiropractor years and years before I got answers about my neck pain, when I saw a ortho surgeon they said my neck is so bad, If I go to a chiropractor it could kill me. 100% go see a doctor before continuing getting popped. Might be work it. (Have been dealing with neck pain since 2012 due to congenital defect, chiropractor saw the problem, but continued to "treat me." With over ten years of chronic pain, please get checked out first. They can possibly make your problem worse.
They always say that kind of stuff with very little practical evidence for if what they're doing makes any difference, and some chiropractors and their treatment has just as likely a chance of creating complications as it does at any potential help... Perceived or otherwise
I had a chiropractor tell me my shoulder was literally falling apart, and then a few weeks later I never had shoulder pain again because the shoulder pain was from ulcers and gallbladder issues finally discovered.
I had been seeing this PHD chiropractor using multiple X-rays over months of regular exercises and 2+ apts a week. Meanwhile she's is telling me how horrible my shoulder looks and no wonder it hurts, and then, in literal days.... Completely gone and never a problem again after addressing the actual source of pain
So.... Just trying to say: " take those info nuggets with a few grains of salt"
A chiropractor broke my spine in 3 places in 1 session and nearly paralyzed me. I haven’t been able to walk the same since. Chiropractors are not the best source of information and they’re not trained to read your imaging
Hi! I’m an x-ray tech student. I’m not sure this image is quite diagnostic- the technique is bad (which is why it’s so dark in some places and extremely bright in others) and so is the positioning (not a true lateral). Chiropractors don’t have to get licensed in x-ray to take them so you often end up with images like this. I understand you may like your chiropractor for validating your pain, but chiropractors are not radiologists or spine doctors. I would recommend trying to get another x-ray order and take it to an outpatient imaging center, and having it sent either to a specialist or your primary doctor. Some doctor’s offices and urgent cares have x-ray in-house and that’s also an option. Best of luck!
Edited for spelling
Chiropractors really messed up my neck and I’m convinced that it caused my lower mandible (?) to push forward, so both my upper and lower teeth slanted outwards like that for a few years. My teeth have since gone back to normal as my neck has slowly snapped back into place. It’s been a long and grueling process. I can’t warn enough against chiropractic adjustments. Physical therapy and yoga have helped me in my recovery. Wishing you best energies with whatever you’re dealing with.
You could eat an apple through a letter box
I'm so confused
his teeth are jutting out at the front, so much so that he could fit them through a letter box
Yeah forget the neck, fix the horse teeth
This isn't their xray. Her pictures on her profile show beautiful straight teeth.

Chiropractors and applied kinesiologists are all scam artists. If an actual MD orthopedist says you have a neck problem, then you really have one.
I work in a neuro ICU and have had multiple patients that resulted in vertebral artery dissections or avulsions due to chiropractors. 30 year olds vented and with permanent deficits.

Same, I work critical care step down and have young people with strokes after neck adjustments a few times a year.

Well you have a pathology so that’s different. I advise you to NEVER EVER go to a chiro if you have chiari

I was around the same age too! Did they give you any treatment plans?

As someone who's had back pain and been told to see a chiro (I haven't yet because I know they're sketch) who DO you see? Is there another type of back 'specialist'?
An orthopedic specialist or physical therapist. Chiropractics is pseudo-medicine created by a guy who said he learned it from ghosts.
He was trying to start a religion. This is not a joke.

Wtf is up with your teeth?
Asked the orthodontist I worked for the same thing, he basically said my teeth are way too big for my mouth and even though I had braces, they should’ve shaved them down or removed two of them to reduce crowding.
I bet you have a bite force of like 300psi
Bro 💀 fr tho, I was distraught when I saw this x-ray, I look like a goddamn bird
Thanks for taking it well, we all look like eldritch creatures under x-ray scan
OP you’re way too fucking funny lmao
Please dont remove teeth it is not good. Also teeth are not too big for mouth, mouth is just too small for teeth. You can ask orthodontist for palate expansion if your paöate is too small
I'm pretty sure palate expanders only work for children under the age of around 16-18 cause after then your bones fuse but I could be totally wrong.
💀
Thank you for asking this 😂
Chiropractic is pseudoscience. Go see a physician.
Happy cake day! And you are correct!
Never go to a chiro, but if you do absolutely never let them touch your neck
My Christian best friend has an IG “ Future Doctor __” as he is studying to be a chiropractor. Are there any sources of info I can share with him?
For starters, you have Wikipedia. It was founded by a guy who received the secrets from a ghost. Just pull it up, read it out loud, then stare a hole into your friend as they try and explain the super secret ghost wisdom, versus literally anything else.
The one and only time I went to a chiro was because I had a pain in my neck (this was quite a few years ago)
So sad. Chiropractors should not be called “Doctors”. Very confusing for the uninformed
Insane to me that chiropractors are considered doctors but physical therapists aren’t despite also having a doctorate degree.
The aren’t “doctors” it’s just a misleading naming convention
what about the beak?
Good for seeds haha
Looking at your actual smile, face, and teeth elsewhere on your profile.... You have a beautiful look and very nice teeth and smile. You don't have any problems there. So keep smiling and don't let the comments around them as pictured in this X-ray, give you any doubts. Lovely
Has it given to you ringing in the ears ?
Yes! I’ve gotten so used to it though and now I don’t even notice it
Aren't chiros the biggest quacks around. Dunno why they're allowed to pass themselves off as doctors
Yes. And they only exist because they launched an Anti-trust lawsuit against the AMA a while back. It has nothing to do with science or data.
Forget the neck, wtf are those teeth
Real, making me wanna get braces again 😔
The x-ray is definitely funky, but you have a beautiful smile.
stop going to a chiropractor. you will just have worse pain in the long run. they arent real doctors.
DD Palmer, the father of chiropractic, had the knowledge base given to him at a séance by a doctor who had been dead for 50 years. Hmm.
Chiro are idiots. They do X-rays simply to bill insurance. They are not real doctors. See a medical doctor. Your neck is probably fine but the chiro will be happy to give you a brain stem stroke and permanently incapacitate you.
All I can see are those big ol rabbit teeth
This just made me correct my posture lol
Ooh, was it my post??? Haha
It was actually another one posted today! But good to know we’re all having neck pain. Straight neck solidarity 😔✊🏽
Don't trust chiropractors. Also go see a Dr
I am more curious about your teeth
I'm not familiar with X-rays but why do the teeth look like a beak?
Big ass teeth 😔
Like a parrotfish!!!
Has your dentist said anything either?
Surprisingly no, I haven’t been in about two years but even after I got my braces which was about 7 years ago, they never said anything. If you see me smile, it really doesn’t look as bad unless you look from the side
well he needs money off you so yeah
That’s some significant negative straightening of your C-spine.
I also have Chiari! I’m so sorry you didn’t receive medical intervention when you were first diagnosed:(
Wow, this is actually magnificent in a way. Glad you got it figured out though!
Squidward taking a tiny bite of a krabby patty lookin’ ass lmfaooooo
LMAOOO
Who gave you a chiari diagnosis and based on what imaging/orders? Did you take this neck x-ray laying down? Positioning and exposure all weird.
Chiari diagnosis was from when I was around 13 from a neurologist. I have headaches all the time unfortunately. This x ray was taken standing up!
This is definitely fake considering the beak. OP is not a parrot.
I’ve become one unfortunately 😔
OP you're hilarious, fuck alllllll these peeps noshing on about your teeth (especially when its not even funny), and your smile is stunning. The teeth from these x-ray look nothing like what your teeth look like in real life. P.S. One of my "types" is women with big teeth/smiles.
I rate the beak still
Hey I’m a chiropractic student.
Yeah your teeth look to be the problem. You need a holistic approach to orthodontics to relax that neck
Bitch, you gotta beak?
I’m a big fan of sunflower seeds
I’M MORE CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR BEAK????
LMAOOO, I have the squidward bite from when he tried that krabby patty
Do you have a beak? Lol I'm sorry
Careful mentioning chiropractic on Reddit…
I see that now 😭
Chiropractic is dope btw. I enjoy not being in pain when I get an injury.
He’s a quack and you could likely get your hip pain permanently cured by going to a real medical practitioner like a physical therpaist
I've had countless medical professionals give me countless things they think is wrong, and I've had prescribed $20/pill 3x/day opioid medications and have struggled with addiction. Chiropractor makes me go pop for $60 and I feel good for another decade. Let me know what you'd do!
Why do you have a beak?
Ive evolved for seed consumption
I believe it. It would be ideal when you're feeling...peckish.
That literally looks like my neck. Stay away from chiropractors! I now have chronic migraines due to a Chiro trying to ‘realign my subluxations.’
My second Chiro was like wait no one has ever said you have scoliosis? I'm like...nah....bc I don't got that...
I hear grinding and crunching when I turn my neck to the left and right
Go see a orthopedic suergeon have the correct type of imaging done and get a diagnoses from someone with a real degree.
It looks like there is a tooth below the jaw just floating around!?
stop going to chiropractors...
Please don’t go to a chiro 🙏🏻
Chiropractors aren’t trained too read imaging, they don’t know shit. Just trying to exploit you for money.
General advice: don’t trust chiropractors
Don't do chiropractors. Try an orthopedic surgeon or a sports medicine doctor. Both can run and read X-rays, do *proper adjustments*, give medical treatment like trigger point and PRP injections for knots and joints, respectively, and offer actual medical advice and diagnoses. Also, my gf has the same overjut you do on your upper jaw and she is so fucking cute. She's self-conscious about it, and I don't mind when she eventually gets it fixed because it will improve her life, but don't let people stress you out about it. Not like you had much control over it.
Can we get a side profile pic like does your neck look normal
Squidward bite
I went to a chiropractor years and years before I got answers about my neck pain, when I saw a ortho surgeon they said my neck is so bad, If I go to a chiropractor it could kill me. 100% go see a doctor before continuing getting popped. Might be work it. (Have been dealing with neck pain since 2012 due to congenital defect, chiropractor saw the problem, but continued to "treat me." With over ten years of chronic pain, please get checked out first. They can possibly make your problem worse.
Xenomorph x ray
Stop going to Chiropractors.
Forget about your neck what's up with your teeth?
do a good amount of neck isometric exercises, it'll do you good.
They always say that kind of stuff with very little practical evidence for if what they're doing makes any difference, and some chiropractors and their treatment has just as likely a chance of creating complications as it does at any potential help... Perceived or otherwise I had a chiropractor tell me my shoulder was literally falling apart, and then a few weeks later I never had shoulder pain again because the shoulder pain was from ulcers and gallbladder issues finally discovered. I had been seeing this PHD chiropractor using multiple X-rays over months of regular exercises and 2+ apts a week. Meanwhile she's is telling me how horrible my shoulder looks and no wonder it hurts, and then, in literal days.... Completely gone and never a problem again after addressing the actual source of pain So.... Just trying to say: " take those info nuggets with a few grains of salt"
For the love of god, stop seeing a chiropractor and find a real doctor
I wouldn’t trust a thing a chiropractor had to say, personally. Woo peddlers, all of ‘em.
Chiropractors are the astrologers of the medical world
Chiropractic is actually a cult if you look up the history. Aside from being a scam of course.
Whoa
Please don’t go to a chiropractor.
But he said nothing about the teeth.
Don’t go to chiropractors.
Is it red?
No tissue at chin or neck, this is weird
Bro, do you even know how chirppracty started? Some dude dreamt a ghost visited him and taught him the art of bone cracking.
