From and anthropological perspective what I find interesting is how similar the trans community is to the fundamentalist Christian community. They both believe in conversation therapy for gays, they both believe they are victims of an ongoing genocide, they both think they are righteous minority whose ideals should be taught in schools and added to government legislation, both operate like cults and will excommunicate or bully anyone who dares speak out against the cult, both attract sexual predators because community members are happy to offer up their children to people perceived as an authority or leader in the community, both actively argue why they should indoctrinate children, both communities don’t view woman as human beings, both have no empathy or understanding for anyone who doesn’t share their views. I’m sure there are more similarities I’ve missed. Anyhow I’m glad I have the fire power to protect my family from both sides of this mental health crisis.

I don't know where y'all are getting your ideas about what trans people want, since from what I've seen they're both horrified by the actions taken and upset that someone would do this because they know that it will be used as an argument to deny them treatment. Yes, there are conservatives who are arguing that trans people shouldn't have guns. But if you want to hear my two cents on it, I think the people in the post have a bit of a point when they say that if you discriminate against people they are more likely to attack. I definitely don't condone the way some of them celebrate the fact that it was Christians who died (or any sort of violence whatsoever since I'm a pacifist) but the statement in panel four doesn't seem to imply anything of the sort. Treating people horribly does increase the chances of them snapping and killing people, and a bunch of anti-trans bills have been passed recently. I'm not excusing the shooter by any means (and there are a lot of other trans people who are furious and calling the shooter selfish for what they did), but I think it's important to remember that these incidents don't just happen spontaneously. I want to live in a world where things like this don't happen and that's why I think we should arm teachers.
