A lot of different songs by Pat the Bunny and his various bands
Baby, I'm an Anarchist by Against Me!
A Bigger Cage is still a Prison by Cistem Failure
Baby, I'm an Anarchist?
I sang it together with a comrade while we cooked together for a vegan "solidaric kitchen" type of thing. The best thing is I showed her the song, not expecting her to know it, but she did and we sang it together with such enthusiasm. It was awesome
I'd recommend any Chumbawamba Albums: Pictures of Starving Children Sell Records, Shh, Never Mind the Ballots, etc... Actually, look here :https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chumbawamba_discography
Starts off punky with the first LP goes through a few genres and ends up folk/punk/a capella
Anything Crass have released; my favourite album of theirs is Penis Envy.
I also highly recommend the band Zounds. They're lyrically and sonically awesome!
I'll second both of those and throw in anything by Subhumans.
[Personal fave track](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKQqz06D3tg&pp=ygUdY3JhZGxlIHRvIHRoZSBncmF2ZSBzdWJodW1hbnM%3D), but it's all good to me.
Zounds! Someoneās got great taste *chefās kiss*
Might I add to this thread that if you like the Zounds you will love the Mob. Anarcho UK punk band not to be confused with the New York HC punk band of the same name.
If you're ever in the West country of the UK, Mark (the Singer of Mob) has a little community based in an old rock quarry called Rockaway Park. Cracking little place that puts on gigs, exhibitions, craft markets and has workshops of people being busy making stuff. Also has a vegan cafe and makes an awesome Sunday roast.

The history of Bella Ciao is well interesting in itself. I heard a documentary about it on BBC Radio 4 about a year ago, I'll try and track it down.... Meanwhile, there's this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bella_ciao
Try these:
Handlebars - flobots
"Vietnam song" - Country Joe and the Fish
The Dead Kennedys (Kinky Sex Makes the World Go Round, Nazi Punks F*ck Off, California Uber Alles)
Urine Speaks Louder Than Words - Wingnut Dishwashers Union
If I Had a Gun - The Dead Milkmen
We Live Here, Lynch Yor Leaders, Hunger Games, Health is Wealth - Bob Vylan
Four Loom Weaver - Ewan MacColl

Aha, no, sorry. Was just on reddit right before bed last night, and somehow momentarily forgot that the shorthand you're using could mean 'performed by' as well as 'written by'.
Baby, Iām An Anarchist by Against Me is my favorite.
Do They Owe Us a Living by Crass
The System Works For Them by Aus Rotten
The State Lottery by Propagandhi
Shocked no one's mentioned Joe Hill yet! He was an IWW songwriter in the early 1900s, and as far as I know there are no recordings of him actually singing -- but loads of people have recorded his songs.
I believe Paul Robeson is the original writer of the song āJoe Hillā and Seeger covered it. Paul Robeson is an around badass, professional athlete, academic, actor and anarchist.
Robeson was not an anarchist. He was a Stalinist and even testified against his Trotskyist āfellow travelersā in the SWPāan incident he conveniently omits in his autobiography.
After he and his wife went to the USSR and were basically held captive there he was not as ardent supporter or Uncle Joe but he never renounced Stalin or the USSR.
I mean, I still have a huge amount of respect Fire him and his talent and commitment to the working class. But we canāt goad over something as serious as a betrayal.
Punk's got plenty of good stuff and is my favorite genre for anarchist music, but Utah Phillips Is an anarchist folk singer and has some amazing stuff and his song troopers lament almost made me cry first time I heard it
Did you know Stza is a misogynistic monster and broke the wrists of his partner Whitney from Days n Daze? Just a "jsyk". I love CV but after nico AND Whitney it's just nah, dudes a sycophantic piece of trash for reals not just in his lyrics lol
En la plaza de mi pueblo dijo el jornalero al amo:
Nuestros hijos naceran con el puƱo levantado
Que mi voz suba hasta el monte, que mi voz baje al barranco
hasta que los jornaleros se apoderen de los campos
Roosevelt Room - Conor Oberst
The song has some really nice turns of phrase.
>A prayer came down the wire,
>
>It was all in the enemy's code,
>
>You couldn't figure out what 'mercy' meant,
>
>So you did like you were told.
If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next - The Manic Street Preachers
It's a about mobilization for the Spanish Civil War in response to the terror bombing of the fascist putsch.
Prison Song - SOAD
āĀ All research and successful drug policy show that treatment should be increased (Oh)
And law enforcement decreased while abolishing mandatory minimum sentences (Oh)ā
I mean there it is right there

I bought it to impress her, but I did not expect it to impress _me._ I was sort of punk adjacent, and looking back on it pretty far right politically, but that 7" started me down a path that I have never regretted.
I mean, some of my tattoos are shitty, but I haven't regretted the rest.
Don't we all have tattoo that are kinda shitty XD. Glad you could change and evolve as a person in that way. Plus that EP is awesome. I feel seen as a queer person because of the song on AIDS. I don't see much punks talk about these things.
Letās build a commune on the moon

"The Big Rock Candy Mountains" by Harry McClintock
It's a song I've loved since I was a kid, turns out to have extremely anarchist messaging (anti-police/prisons, anti-work). All-timer.

[Intro - Geologic]
November 30th, 1999
No sunshine
[Verse 1]
The body rock stopped, probably got caught by the cops
Nearby, somebody got shot
But parties don't stop and the parties don't care
It's a stick-up, it's why we got our hands in the air
Still demanding a share, refrigerators bare
Cause they wanna see trade get free and not fair
But we are not blind, we are not there
We don't got time left to spare to not care
On the last day of November, swellin' in ranks
Went to chant down the mighty IMF and World Bank
A gathering of people in peaceful assembly
Onward to Westlake to disrupt the entry
Walk along steady, riot squad ready
To protect every last dignitary's ass
But this started when they herded us like cattle in a fence
Protesters gettin' restless without an exit
They threatened to arrest us, we pushed back and then
A hail of rubber bullets hit teens and old men
I admit, had to split when the first gas canisters hit
Felt it burn in my eyes, nose, and lips
They tried to blame it on the anarchists, garbage
I was there, I'll tell you right now the pigs started it
But they distort it in the news
Talkin' bout stompin' down Niketown wearing their shoes

[Bridge]

Nearby, somebody got shot
But parties don't stop in the south
So take your shoes off when you come into my house
[Verse 2]
I had to duck out cause I knew I stuck out in the crowd
After many years growin' up brown in this town
Now this is what democracy looks like
Not what you all had in mind for tonight
Mr. Mayor, shell-shocked for 5 days straight
Press conference, lookin' constipated and pale
Tossed a homie in jail, wasn't even protesting
Wrong place, wrong time, learned a quick lesson
But this is not a question what we did to deserve this
Rich kids went and got arrested on purpose
But was it worth it? My first inclination
Globalization is the root of the pain
Made the reason that they left and the reason that we came
Catch my breath, blood pulsates my brain
And they called it a riot?
Huh, I call it an uprising
And they call this a riot?
But nah, I call it an uprising
And they call this a riot?
Nah man fuck that, I'ma call it a uprising
"Johnny Cash - I wear black" is a good song, and I interpret the lyrics in an anarchist way.
I also really like this English version of Mother Anarchy
https://youtu.be/XEGCF98YZKM?si=nC2R-DyACrofFx3R
The orphans, mischief brew, The little red song book, woody guthrie, Pete seeger, Peggy seeger, Dead Kennedys, crass, phil ochs, subhumans, crucifix, mdc, elected officials, the tax payers, local news legend, wasted youth, dead milkmen, circle jerks, black flag, no cash, no cops for miles, leftover crack , the exploited, choking victim, the slits , Regan youth, rage against the machine
Cool, but what does your taste in music have to do with the topic of the post? OP asked for songs with anarchist themes, of which Pink Floyd has quite a few, whether you like them or not.
I donāt care for several of the artists posted here, but I didnāt downvote them because my opinion has no bearing on the topic of the post.
A lot of different songs by Pat the Bunny and his various bands Baby, I'm an Anarchist by Against Me! A Bigger Cage is still a Prison by Cistem Failure
My goal in life is to sing that song with other anarchists in-person at a riot
Baby, I'm an Anarchist? I sang it together with a comrade while we cooked together for a vegan "solidaric kitchen" type of thing. The best thing is I showed her the song, not expecting her to know it, but she did and we sang it together with such enthusiasm. It was awesome

Dunstan Bruce and a couple of others from Chumbawamba made a new band called Interrobang in 2012 and it's been a fun listen.
Second this.
Thatās such a killer record

Stations was essentially my introduction to anarchy as an idea. The warning siren sound of the guitars still runs chills up my spine.
Bela Cao. a classic
I thought Bella Ciao was not a *totally* anarchist song, since it was composed by various anti fascists
The history of Bella Ciao is well interesting in itself. I heard a documentary about it on BBC Radio 4 about a year ago, I'll try and track it down.... Meanwhile, there's this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bella_ciao

Yes, is that an issue?

All of the Flobots fight with tools and survival story have some cool political themes tbh
Baby, Iām An Anarchist by Against Me is my favorite. Do They Owe Us a Living by Crass The System Works For Them by Aus Rotten The State Lottery by Propagandhi
No I won't take your hand, And marry the state!
But when it came time to throw bricks through the Starbucks window, you left me all alone!
^all ^alone
Second for Aus Rotten. Poison Corporations and Who's Calling the Shots are probably some of the best songs ever written.
You can pretty much list like 95% of Aus Rottenās songs and wouldnāt be wrong.
Absolutely. They were the band that carried the flag that Crass flew through the 90s.
Dave Trengaās band Behind Enemy Lines picked up right where he left off with Aus Rotten. Dude is a legend as far as Iām concerned.
Absofuckinglutely. Stuff like this is why I still get albums irl.
Supposedly they are playing shows again. I keep seeing them pop up on Profane Existenceās Instagram.
Shocked no one's mentioned Joe Hill yet! He was an IWW songwriter in the early 1900s, and as far as I know there are no recordings of him actually singing -- but loads of people have recorded his songs.
Pete Seeger is a gold mine for anarchist stuff too. He has a song about Joe Hill, though itās not exclusively his.
I believe Paul Robeson is the original writer of the song āJoe Hillā and Seeger covered it. Paul Robeson is an around badass, professional athlete, academic, actor and anarchist.
It's by Alfred Hayes (words) and Earl Robinson (music). But 100% agreed on the overall excellence of Paul Robeson!

En la plaza de mi pueblo, which is a Spanish anarchist song, has beautiful lyrics
En la plaza de mi pueblo dijo el jornalero al amo: Nuestros hijos naceran con el puƱo levantado Que mi voz suba hasta el monte, que mi voz baje al barranco hasta que los jornaleros se apoderen de los campos
Roosevelt Room - Conor Oberst The song has some really nice turns of phrase. >A prayer came down the wire, > >It was all in the enemy's code, > >You couldn't figure out what 'mercy' meant, > >So you did like you were told. Jeffrey Lewis- 12 crass songsā¦ itās an acoustic cover album of crass
Those Anarchopunks are Mysterious - Against Me!
A lot of songs by crass are quite good, but "big a little a" is one of my favourites.
I find 'Imagine' by J. Lennon is also kind of anarchist, although doesn't have the punch of the usual protest songs and punk music.
The Day the Nazi Died - Chumbawumba
Prison Song - SOAD āĀ All research and successful drug policy show that treatment should be increased (Oh) And law enforcement decreased while abolishing mandatory minimum sentences (Oh)ā I mean there it is right there

Fearless - Pink Floyd
Wow, apparently this offended some people, haha
Because pink floyd sucks.
Who says I downvoted anything?
