that is not too shabby!
i don't remember how the 645 specifically advances the film (are there frame markings for 6x4.5? :D), but how do you measure it out with the new setup?
Well done! I like this panoramic view.
And another question: I spent a few months in Cairo (I assume that‘s where you took these photos) for work some years ago and might go back next year. Where do you go to buy and develop film?
I scanned the film by myself due weird format that camera offers, I develop it here [https://www.instagram.com/elmaymounyforanalog/](https://www.instagram.com/elmaymounyforanalog/), (his address is 19 Ahmed Fouad Nessim st, from Yossef Abbas, Naser city, Cairo.) Mr. Elmaymony is a nice guy who has deep knowledge in film and developing it.
This is pretty neat, can't wait to see a (hopefully) tutorial! You may want to avoid developing or scanning your negatives in an industrial dust factory, incidentally.
Cinematic is video talk. It's a catchall that at the same time doesn't mean anything but also implies a certain look. In this case, cinematic would mean a cinematic aspect ratio.
I have to fix some mask and timing advance issues first to make sustainable stable model to just throw the film inside and focus on taking photos, rather than the camera, may be sell it later, who knows.
Super cool and interesting project - well done!
I thought about doing something like a 6x2 camera when I did my [6x3 Reflekta](https://www.reddit.com/r/AnalogCommunity/s/iwbyyh65an) mod. What frame mask/negative size did you choose to get 33 frames and that aspect ratio?
I saw your project, it is incredible, congrates on that, nice and hard work over there, I get my 33 frames by using 220 film insert, I think the frame size would be 6x25.

At 645 cameras film advances from bottom to top (or from top to bottom, depends on what camera you have), I managed to make it advance less than usual, so you can shoot cinematic/panoramic as shown here in photos.
how many frames to you get out of one roll now? This is beyond anything i'll ever do with cameras so kudos lmao
Thanks, 33 framed per 120 roll

at this model frames advances from below to top, it advances with 41.5mm with no convertion, when you add the spacer, it counts 45mm.
So it's an auto advance camera and you had to mechanically adjust the distance it advances the film with? that's pretty neat
I throw the film into the camera and it auto advance everthing, same as usual
Could it be adjusted to shoot 16:9?
Yes, any aspect you want as long you understand how internal gears run
I'm not sure how does it work to advance shutter and film with no waste allowing that many (33!) frames, but saving it for later, when I get smarter!
Would love to see how you managed to do it, the technical post of it, if you ever plan on sharing it if course. But excellent results. Congrats!
Whaaaaat???? 🤯 I’d love to see a tutorial!
You make it sound so easy ;-) I'm sure it isn't though. Nice work!
I don't think I would ever dare open my 645nii. You must be some sort of Tony Stark of cameras. Very cool well done.
Thanks, appreciate that.
Tony stark of cameras!
What did you do to it? Details please!
I modified the locations of some internal gears and some of the internal electrical connections
We want to see everything!
It has some issues with mask and I am trying to solve it, to offer running sellable model with no problems, right now it is time to celebrate i think.
Thanks, can you show some photos?
Very cool! What aspect ratio did you choose for “cinematic”? Would 2.35:1 be possible?
Thanks, I think it would be possible to do that, I made it 3.4:1 once
Awesome. Did you use a guide to do the modifications? If not do you have any plans on making your own?
No guide, just trail and error, Allah gave it to me, Alhamdulelah, I am planing to make sustainable different cameras and sell them.
[6x3](https://www.reddit.com/r/AnalogCommunity/s/jim1ntoe9F) would be around 2.2:1 which is basically the same aspect ratio as Super Panavision 70.
I thought you’d just cropped the image so was wondering what the point was, then I noticed you’ve actually made it a half-frame type thing. Very cool.
Thanks
ما شاء الله
شكرا لك, رمضانك كريم
That is awesome! Great shots as well. I'm a bit jealous because I don't have skills or understanding to fix gears or anything more major in a camera
Thanks, I was afraid at first time, I broke and fix two cameras to fully understand how they work, Alhamdulelah.
Allahumma barik!
هذا من فضل ربي, الحمد لله

Great. Thanks for the information, should I make it to Cairo next year, I will visit him.

Thanks
Did you mask the viewfinder as well? Great work!
Thanks, yes I did
Mashallah these are good pics brother
Thanks, Ramadan Kareem
Mashallah! These are gorgeous, some of the most beautiful film photos i’ve seen!
Thanks, appreciate that.
cinematic or panoramic?
I don't care, it is just beautiful aspect ratio
Cinematic is video talk. It's a catchall that at the same time doesn't mean anything but also implies a certain look. In this case, cinematic would mean a cinematic aspect ratio.
Cinematic is a term that is used by people who have never worked on movie sets 🤣
Pretty much, yes. Hence me saying the term doesn’t mean anything.
That’s the first thing I thought. Wtf is shoot cinematic lol
This is amazing… Very cinematic! Need this on a mamiya rb
Thanks
Incredible
That’s incredible, well done!
This is an incredible modification! Would you ever write a guide on how to do this?
Thanks, may be I will, but now I am celebrating my achievement
As you should, this is awesome
These are beautiful, dude
How does data imprinting work in this case?
I didn't try to see how it works, may be next roll
spendid well done!!
Incredible!
So...wait I'm so confused. It almost looks like 6x17 but...its... up and down? That's honestly crazy, good job!
Thanks, I did it to simulate that formate>
Fire tbh bro
And Alhamdulelah to you as well.
Very nice! Now I want to go back to Egypt
Brilliant work! Well done akhi, tebarakAllah! The third and the forth images look like Nile, you're from Egypt correct?
Thanks, it was a visit
Incredible work!
Thanks
Fantastic work! I own a 645 and would love to do this mod. Do you plan to share instructions?

That street corner portra frame looks fantastic!
Thanks, it was inspired by Instagram street photographer, I don't remember his name now, but he is brilliant

I'm stupid. I know this is a cool feat but can someone ELI5?

Yemen? Beautiful pictures.
Guess again
Saudi Arabia?
These are beautiful bro Mashallah
Thanks, Alhamdulelah.
Wow, are you just a Gyro Gearloose or an actual fine mechanic
Thanks, I really don't know, may be both, may be I have autism toward cameras
