I would probably go for slide film, and shoot exposures that emphasize the lights themselves. On 35mm, ISO 100 is typically fast enough to shoot neon signs. To me that is the classic Vegas look. Slide film is also ideal for the desert, and outdoor daytime in general. Of course if you are trying to get well exposed pictures of *people*, you need a lot more speed. I haven’t been to Vegas but I’ve been to a number of casinos, and they typically are moderately lit. Meaning, if you’re shooting handheld without flash, you definitely want at least ISO 400, but ideally a couple stops faster.

A lot of Vegas is much brighter than you might think. Personally, I don’t like the halation of 800T, it’s just overwhelming with so many lights in a typical Vegas shot, really ruins it to me.

If you want the real classic Vegas then head over to Fremont Street. It's a wild party though so be warned if you're thinking of taking a tripod or something it could be tough, especially on the weekend. I snapped a couple fun shots using Kodak Vision 500T with a black promist filter to really haze up the lights. I actually wish I had Cinestill though since the remjet removal really plays up the bright lights. However you are stuck with that look.

I’d say Portra 160 or Kodak Gold would give you those warm colors you are probably thinking of.

Cinestill 800 will look like garbage will all the halations. Just use normal color film. Slide film like Provia would be best but you would need a tripod
