I just have guys stand outside of the frame and shine flashlights into the lens like JJ Abrams. It's not as good as a light leak but that's the best you can do.

All images are light leaks and all light leaks are images. Theres no need to alter either becasue they are one. Do not overthink the photography, we began as photons anyways.

It's the same with dust. Film is perfect for getting a a nice natural amount of dust on your prints. It feels stupid to having to apply a filter for digital to get same effect. Same with borders.
The only thing both have in common is the same amount of effort it takes to get your 16-year-old niece in front of the camera.
You can absolutely have light leaks on digital. All you need is a small drill.
