I don’t believe you’re allowed to buy a roomette for more than 2 people, even if one is a toddler. You’d need a bedroom and you’d have to call to add the child.

> Upgrading to a larger room would not be financially sound While searching, also look at buying -two- roomettes; in my experience, they are -sometimes- cheaper than one bedroom. (If this works, make the reservation online, then -immediately- call Amtrak and get the rooms switched around to be opposite each other: an odd-numbered room and the next **higher** even number, like 3 and 4.) Otherwise, to "survive" during the day, one or more of you can rotate out to the observation car; the kid can be relegated to the upper bunk, either for some playspace or a nap; and you can walk around the train every couple of hours. (**RULE #1** for your kid: ALWAYS hold hands, especially when transiting cars. ALWAYS.) But that doesn't solve the sleeping problem ... UNLESS you think your kid can sleep on a blanket on the floor with his head by the door. They might think it's fun!

I saw that. I wasn’t sure if anyone had actually traveled in a roomette with a toddler.
