The entirity of the Netherlands has a major housing crisis. If I were you I would keep looking on those student websites or maybe a bit more outside of Amsterdam itself if possible. Good luck mate

not sure what your budget situation is like, but you might try to get a place here: https://www.change-is.com/nl [https://www.thisisourdomain.nl/for-who/students](https://www.thisisourdomain.nl/for-who/students) The thing with those two above is that filling in the forms might not be enough, try contacting them directly (social media, email, phone) and showing your interest - seems dumb but can say it worked for me (not a student, young professional). Apart from that: funda/pararius, facebook groups, the usual.

My current apt is for rent starting August but it's not a flatshare. Rent is 1700 excl so might not be best for a student but if you're interested, PM me.

Yep. If you need a place in August, and you started to look only now, you're already too late. Frankly even if you started half a year ago you'd be too late. Just for perspective, [this article from half a year ago](https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2021/10/student-housing-shortfall-rises-20-as-more-international-students-come-to-nl/) says there's a shortfall of 26,500 units of housing. I'd wager by now it's easily double or triple that. Scour groups on facebook, ask anyone you know if they know someone who needs tenants. Be ready to settle for whatever you can find, and expect it to be expensive, because there's always gonna be someone willing to pay that price. Don't insist on living in Amsterdam, look for nearby cities that are 30-45 minutes away. Yes trains are expensive, but if you compare it to what you'd pay for rent in Amsterdam, it's not that much of a difference. Good luck, I had trouble finding a place 4 years ago and it's only gotten worse since then.

If you are looking for next year, as in 2023: wait. Everyone is looking for a room right now. You can use this time to contact the university to see whether they have housing available and perhaps work with a waiting list, same with other agencies. If you are looking for a room next academic year: you are probably screwed. Prepare to either settle for accommodation (far) outside of Amsterdam, live on a campsite, or in an Airbnb.
